The present work discusses a robust control law of delayed-input T-S models, the idea is to develop new approaches based on neural networks and the PDC command for a T-S fuzzy model, in order to reduce disturbances and uncertainties for the wind energy system. However, the problem encountered is the delay time generated by the online learning of neural networks. The new conditions of stabilization at a delayed input is developed to deal with this issue and to ensure stability and robustness against disturbances. These conditions based on a quadratic Lyapunov function formulated in terms of linear matrix inequality, which can be solved by using LMI optimization techniques. The simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

Networked Control Approach for Distributed Generation Systems

Microgrid has emerged as an answer to growing demand for distributed generation(DG) in power systems. It contains several DG units including microalternator, photovoltaic system and wind generation. It turns out that sustained operation relies on the stability of these constituent systems. In this paper, a microgrid consisting of microalternator and photovoltaic system is modeled as a networked control system of systems(So S)subjected to packet dropouts and delays. Next, an observerbased controller is designed to stabilize the system in presence of the aforementioned communication constraints and simulation results are provided to support the control design methodology.

Avoiding Matrix Inversion in Takagi-Sugeno-based Advanced controllers and observers

Many of the recent advances on control and estimation of systems described by Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models are based on matrix inversion, which could be a trouble in the case of real-time implementation. This paper is devoted to the development of alternative solutions to this matrix inversion problem in the discrete-time case. Two different methods are proposed: The first one relies on replacing the matrix inversion by multiple sums and the second methodology is based on an estimation of the matrix inversion by an observer structure. For the first methodology, a new class of controllers and observers are introduced which are called, respectively, the counterpart of an advanced TS-based (CATS) controller and the replica of an advanced TS-based (RATS) observer. Instead of relaxations for the linear matrix inequalities conditions, an original use of the membership functions is presented. In the second methodology, it is proposed the estimation-based control law for approximating TS-based (ECLATS) controller that uses a fuzzy state observer. The Lyapunov theory is used to ensure stability conditions for either the closed-loop system as well as the estimation error. Numerical examples and comparisons highlight the efficiency of the procedures that can be used to replace any inverted matrix in any advanced fuzzy controller or observer. Finally, advantages and drawbacks of the proposed method are discussed.

Distributed consensus control for multi-agent systems under denial-of-service

This paper investigates the problem of distributed consensus control for multi-agent systems under denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Different from the existing results where DoS attacks on all the channels are same, in this paper, the adversaries compromise each channel independently. The objective is to design distributed controllers such that the consensus is still achieved in the presence of DoS attacks. Both state-feedback and observer-based controllers are considered. First, the decay rates under different attack modes are obtained by solving a class of linear matrix inequalities. Second, sufficient conditions on the duration of the DoS attacks, under which the consensus is still achieved, are proposed. The difficulty that there is no one-to-one match between the obtained decay rates and DoS duration limitations, is overcome by introducing the equivalent decay rates corresponding to channels. Moreover, the computational complexity is reduced greatly by introducing a novel scaling method. Finally, two examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. This paper considers a design problem of dissipative and observer-based finite-time non-fragile control for a class of uncertain discrete-time system with time-varying delay, nonlinearities, external disturbances, and actuator saturation. In particular, in this work, it is assumed that the nonlinearities satisfy Lipschitz condition for obtaining the required results. By choosing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, a new set of sufficient conditions is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which ensures the finite-time boundedness and dissipativeness of the resulting closed-loop system. Meanwhile, the solvability condition for the observer-based finite-time nonfragile control is also established, in which the control gain can be computed by solving a set of matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example based on the electric-hydraulic system is provided to illustrate the applicability of the developed control design technique.

Time-varying input delay of actuators, uncertainty of model parameters, and input and output disturbances are important issues in the research on active suspension system of vehicle. In this article, a design methodology involving state observer and observer-based dynamic output-feedback H infinity controller considering the above four factors simultaneously is put forward for active suspension system. First, the dynamics equations of active suspension system with time-varying delay are established according to its structure and principle, and its state equations, state observer, and observer-based controller considering time-varying delay, uncertainty of model parameters, and input and output disturbances are given separately. Second, the observer-based controller for quarter-vehicle active suspension system is designed in terms of the linear matrix inequality and the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, and the design problem of observer-based controller is converted into the solving problem of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, the gain matrix of observer and the gain matrix of controller are obtained by means of the developed controller and the model parameters of active suspension system;the MATLAB/Simulink model of this system is established;and three numerical simulation cases are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

T-S modelling-based anti-disturbance finite-time control with input saturation

Here, the problem of finite-time disturbance rejection is investigated for a class of MIMO non-linear systems with both unknown external disturbances and actuator saturation in the disturbance-observer-based control (DOBC) framework. In order to expand the application range of external disturbances, Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is used to describe the complex non-linear disturbance. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, an observer-based controller is designed to guarantee that the closed-loop system is finite-time stable. Finally, a simulation example for A4D flight control systems with non-linear disturbances is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Stabilization of Singular Markovian Jump Systems by Generally observer-based controllers

This paper considers the problem of designing a generally observer-based controller for a kind of singular Markovian jump systems, where the operation modes of controller and observer are not necessary. Different from the existing methods, several general conditions in terms of mode-dependent or mode-independent are obtained by using mode-dependent Lyapunov functions and developed within LMI framework. In order to solve such problems ultimately, two different techniques dealing with the cross terms are proposed, where new variables satisfying new inequalities are introduced. Numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed results.

A controller design method is presented for one-sided Lipschitz Markovian jump systems with partially unknown transition probabilities. By using the proposed controllers, it can be guaranteed that the state trajectories starting from a given region remain in it (without disturbances) or a bigger one (under disturbances), where the local one-sided Lipschitz and quadratically inner-bounded conditions can be satisfied. In addition, an observer-based controller is designed to stabilise the system without the requirement that the system states are measurable. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

State and disturbance observers-based polynomial fuzzy controller

It is important to account for the gap between the dynamics of a plant to be controlled and its mathematical model to improve the control performance. Hence, a controller is designed based on this. In this study, the gap is termed as a lumped disturbance, and is considered with respect to the polynomial fuzzy model that is more effective to represent the plant dynamics. More specifically, a design of state observer is first proposed under the existence of the lumped disturbance, and this is then followed by the proposal of a disturbance observer to estimate the lumped disturbance for further use in the controller design. Finally, a controller is developed for the case in which the control state as well as the lumped disturbance are unavailable. Additionally, computer simulations are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
