For the difficult situation of the node application upgrade in the distributed control system, this paper designs a remote online programming method. This method uses STM32F407 microcontroller and In-Application programming (IAP) techniques. The upper network is based on Ethernet and http protocol, the lower network is based on UART and CAN. This paper plans the STM32 flash memory based on the lAP characteristics, and introduces the design principle of the distributed IAP. This paper also designs the IAP program and PC user interface program. This method has easy operation, high reliability and good stability, it has a very good value in the distributed system.

With the development of computer technology, more and more people begin to learn programming. And there are a lot of platforms for programmers to practice. It's often difficult for these platforms to customize the needs of users at different levels. In this paper, we address the above limitations and propose an intelligent tutoring model, to help programming platforms achieve better tutoring for different levels of users. We first devise a novel framework for programming education tutoring which is combined with programming education knowledge graph, crowdsourcing system and online knowledge tracing. Then, by ontology definition, information extraction and data fusion, we construct a knowledge graph to store the data in a more structured way. During the knowledge tracing stage, we extract behavior features and question knowledge features from a relational database and knowledge graph separately. Meanwhile, we improve the process for student ability evaluation and adapt the Knowledge Tracing algorithm to predict students' behavior on knowledge and questions. Experiment results on real-world user behavior data sets show that through the help of Knowledge Tracing algorithm, we can achieve considerably satisfied results on students' behavior prediction.

Applications of Light-Weight Wearable Devices to online programming of Industrial Dual-Arm Robots

Dexterous manipulation of dual-arm robots in unstructured environments is very useful. programming a dual-arm industrial robot to efficiently complete dexterous tasks, however, is especially challenging due to the complexity of its inverse kinematics, motion planning, dual-arm coordination with self-collision avoidance, and so on. This paper presents a systematic solution to accurately manipulate a dual-arm industrial robot on-site via light-weight wearable devices. In the developed system, the human operator directly drives the robot through the human arms motions tracked by the combination of inertial measurement units and handheld joystick controllers. A proper motion retargeting method with self-collision avoidance is used to enable the user to manipulate the robot directly through intuitive arm motions within a comfortable range and ensure the task manipulation with safety in unstructured environments. The developed system has been tested with various tasks, such as the manipulation of objects of different shapes, dexterous turn-over, and dual-arm coordination. Compared with the existing telerobotic systems, the developed system with simultaneous 14 degree-of-freedom teleoperation directly driven by light-weight wearable devices is able to handle more dexterous and accurate manipulation tasks with the capability of fast deployment and self-collision awareness. Such a solution could pave the way for online dual-arm robot programming on efficient manipulation skills transfer in the future.

Monitoring and controlling of robots are key competences for robot producers and many research and development projects are carried out to increase robot performance and add new functionality. The paper presents a concept and implementation of online programming, controlling and monitoring an industrial robot using a Kinect sensor as a HMI part. Presented innovative solution is based on human gestures. A communication interface for gestures analysis performed by the robot operator was created using LabVIEW applications. Communication between the kinetic motion sensor and the robot was carried out through PLC Siemens S7-300 inside a flexible manufacturing system. The connection between the logic controller and the robot controller R30iA was realized in the ProfibusDP network. The connection between the controller and LabVIEW application has been established using the MPI protocol. A hardware communication protocol used by PLC was converted into the OPC protocol. NUI was used to communicate the Kinect with LabVIEW.

ViPLab is a virtual online programming laboratory for the ILIAS learning management system, developped by the University of Stuttgart and in active use for many years. ViPLab allows students to conduct their homeworks or electronic exams on personal devices in multiple programming languages reqniring a browser as only local software installation. ViPLab also enables teachers to grade submitted solutions automatically. It supports multiple programming languages, MatLab/Octave, Java, C, C++ and DuMuX, with the option of adding additional languages when required.

Traditional method of FPGA updating system is programming the bitstream file into SPI Flash through JTAG interface. This operation needs professional personnel to do, and it needs to dismantle the machine, which takes time and effort. To meet the requirement of flight control computer system updating, a new method of dynamic reconfiguration without special tools, dismantling and adding external circuits is designed. The design, experiment and verification of this method are introduced in detail. The application results show that this method can work normally and configuration can be loaded even if the programming process exits unexpectedly due to power failure and so on. We've also introduced a user-friendly graphical interface for online programming, making the process accessible even to non-experts, thus substantially reducing updating costs.

Many of automated computer programming feedback is generated based on static template matching that need to be provided by the experts. This research is focusing on developing an automated online programming semantic error feedback by using dynamic template matching models based on students' correct answers submission. Currently, there is a lack of research using dynamic template matching model due to their complexity and varies in terms of programming structure. To solve the formulation of the dynamic templates, a new automated feedback model using front and rear n-gram sequence as the matching technique was developed to provide feedback to students based on the missing structure of the best-matched template. We have tested 60 student's Java programming answers on 3 different types of programming questions using all the dynamic templates randomly chosen for each student. An expert was assigned to manually match the student's answer with the 3 randomly chosen templates. The result shows that 80% of the best-matched templates for each student using the technique were similarly chosen by the expert. Based on the matched template, the student will be given feedback notifying the possible next programming instruction that can be included in the answer to get it correct as was achieved by the template. This model can contribute to automatically assist students in answering computational programming exercises.

The role of assessment in modern university curricula has become far more diverse and open to scrutiny in recent years. Although its most significant role is as a measure of a student's knowledge and skills, the role as a learning device has become increasingly important and as a consequence informative and useful feed back is critical to achieve good learning outcomes This paper describes a tool that provides a self-contained, easy to use, programming environment that facilitates the development, testing and marking of programming tasks in addition to the presentation and marking of "standard" examination questions. The tool takes responsibility for many of the tasks that program development normally requires so that the student can focus on the task of writing program source code. It has been used in a Java programming topic for two consecutive years.

We present Elice(1), an online CS (computer science) education platform, and Elivate, a system for taking student learning data from Elice and infers their progress through an educational taxonomy tailored for programming education. Elice captures detailed student learning activities, such as the intermediate revisions of code as students make progress toward completing their programming exercises. With those data, Elivate recognizes each student's progression through an education taxonomy which organizes intermediate stages of learning such that the taxonomy can be used to evaluate student progress as well as to design and improve course materials and structure. With more than 240,000 intermediate source codes generated by 1,000 students, we demonstrate the practicality of the Elice and Elivate. We present case studies that confirm that categorizing student actions into the different steps of the taxonomy results in better understanding of the effect of TA's assist and student's performance.
