In order to solve the problem of service restoration in distribution network based on distributed generation, this paper treated it as a multi-object nonlinear optimization problem with constrains like the type, capacity and priority of important loads. Four possible operation modes are considered in this paper, and loads are classified into three levels. Further, islanding algorithm based on a new judging method is used to check network connectivity;load shed and network reconfiguration strategies based on bacterial colony chemotaxis optimization algorithm is proposed to achieve the objectives of maximum load restoration and minimum switch action;and the flexible power flow algorithm is used to check system frequency constrain. In the end, the service restoration strategy is verified using IEEE 33-node system, and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper presents an optimization technology for the molecular design of environmentally friendly solvents for extractive distillation. The approach based on the concept of group contribution methods (GCM). To decrease the complexity and random of design problem, a set of functional groups are pre-selected based on the modified UNIFAC method. Combination of groups can produce different molecule, once the molecule is generated, the properties are evaluated to determine if it satisfy the criteria. The criteria include separation performance and environmental performance. Simulated annealing algorithm is used to search feasible molecular structures. The molecule transition strategies and parameters of algorithm are described detailedly. Finally, the method is demonstrated with two examples, and the design results show that the proposed technology is a valid technology to design the desirable solvents.

In this paper, we show scatterometry simulation software which has the spectroscopy calculation and optimization algorithm systems. The calculation is sped up by parallel computing using the GPU (Graphics Processor Unit). Here, we use the programming language CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) and CULA (CULApack) for the NVIDIA GPU. We calculate the spectroscopy using the rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) which provides a method for calculating the diffraction of electromagnetic waves by periodic grating. An evolutionary algorithm (EA) and a conjugate gradient (CG) method are used as the technique to automatically search the data which resembles the given spectrum. Then, the results using this simulator are provided.

Paper presents submersible wastewater pumps control system analysis and its optimization. Real plant measurement data was used to model the system. Submersible pumps of investigated system can't work with less than 70% of their productivity. When three parallel pumps are used, this becomes a big disturbance for cascade level control system used in the plant. Existing control system algorithm was modified to minimize the number of starts of wastewater pumps also minimizing disturbances to the further biological treatment process.

An optimization algorithm for repeater coordination is developed. Using a repeater with the system of CTCSS, much more low-power users can communicate with one another in situations where direct user-to-user contact would not be possible. Since the locations of these repeaters are arbitrary, the problem of repeater coordination in a circular flat area with minimum number of repeaters is difficult. But by using the completely seamless coverage theory and the hexagonal grid partition method, we can determine 14 optional repeater locations in two topological structures. The computer simulation technology of the work process of internal-combustion engine is the important measure to study the internal-combustion engine, but generally, because of the uncertainty of input parameters, the precision of the simulation model of the engine work process, which largely limits the application of the simulation model, so the parameters of the simulation model needs to be calibrated. Taking the work process of the certain one type turbocharging diesel engine as the example, and combining the genetic algorithm with the ant colony algorithm, the parameter combination which can satisfy the requirements of precision, is selected in this article to effectively reduce the simulation experiment times of parameter calibration, and realize the automatic calibration of the simulation model parameters. By comparing and analyzing the practical result of the experiment and the result of the simulation computation, the effectiveness of the algorithm has been validated in the article.
