In order to improve the utilization of grid resources and the efficiency of task execution, this paper compares and analyzes the scheduling problems existing in genetic algorithm, Min-Min algorithm and hierarchical scheduling algorithm, and proposes a dynamic resource scheduling algorithm based on corresponding time. The parameters of resource change, weight coefficient and optimization function are introduced into the algorithm. Through the simulation experiment results, the scheduling algorithm proposed in this paper effectively improves the utilization of grid resources and the efficiency of task execution.

The high cost of feed materials and feed additives in developing nations has elicited interest in the search for sustainable alternatives. Moringa (Moringa oleifera), one of such sustainable alternatives is a tropical plant that has its usefulness investigated in this study. A 42-day study was designed to determine the response of Ross 308 broilers to dietary Moringa oleifera leaf meal supplementation. The Moringa oleifera leaves used for the study were analysed for proximate, mineral and composition as well as phytochemical contents before being incorporated in the diet. Day-old Ross 308 broiler chicks (n = 500) were allotted to five treatments in completely randomized design with each treatment replicated five times and each replicate having 20 chicks. The birds were subjected to diets supplemented with Moringa oleifera leaf meal at 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 g/kg feed at both starter and finisher stage, respectively and designated as T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5. Moringa oleifera leaf meal level that supported optimum production and physiological variables was modelled using the quadratic function. At day 42, three birds per replicate were slaughtered to evaluate carcass and organ yields. Result of the proximate composition revealed that MOLM is rich in protein (32.37%) and neutral detergent fibre (52.16%). Mineral assay indicated that MOLM was high in calcium, sodium, potassium, sulphur and iron. Daily feed intake (FI), average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratio were the same among the treatments with the exception of starter broilers on diet T1 that had higher ADG (p<0.05) than those on the other diets. Final live weight (FLW), mortality and gizzard weight were influenced (p<0.05) by Moringa oleifera leaf meal supplementation. Moringa oleifera leaf meal supplementation had no effect on parameters measured. Moringa oleifera leaf meal supplementation at 39.98 and 35.80 g/kg feed supported optimum FLW and ADG at starter phase and 46.88 g/kg feed MOLM supported optimum

Optimized bending angle distribution function of contour plate roll forming

Regarding the roll forming of contour plates, traditional roll forming techniques often result in peak longitudinal strain during the forming process, which causes defects such as longitudinal bowing and springback. The bending angle, sheet thickness, and the number of forming passes are all important process parameters that cause the aforementioned problems. This study proposes quantifying the projection track regarding the edge of the profile section in the horizontal plane that follows a cubic curve and uses the curve function to reasonably distribute the bending angle to study the maximum forming strain and the average strain for all passes of the sheet between the forming passes. Simultaneously, the influence law of the sheet thickness and number of forming passes was studied. Based on theoretical simulation and experimental verification, the optimal bending angle distribution function is A1: y = x (3) + x (2) + x. When the thickness of the sheet is 1.5 mm, both the maximum forming strain between the passes during roll forming and the average strain of all passes are the smallest, which are 3.91 and 0.609%, respectively. Moreover, with the increase in the number of passes, the longitudinal bowing and springback decrease to varying degrees.

The implementation of advanced materials in high-efficient glazing system is important for green buildings. In this study, aerogel granules are implemented in the glazing system to form a translucent window with super-insulating performance. An experimentally validated numerical modeling integrating both heat transfer model and optical model is developed to characterize the sophisticated heat transfer and solar radiation transmission mechanisms. Sensitivity analysis is presented with quantifiable contribution ratio of each parameter to the total heat gain. Instead of returning back to numerical modeling repeatedly, an advanced optimization engine implemented with a generic optimization methodology with competitive computational efficiency and accuracy is proposed by implementing the supervised machine learning and advanced optimization algorithms. The research results show that the developed artificial neural network modeling is more accurate and computational-efficient than the traditional lsqcurvefit fitting methodology. In addition, the optimal case through the teaching-learning-based optimization is more robust and competitive than the optimal case through the particle swarm optimization in terms of the total heat gain. This study presents an in-depth understanding of heat transfer and solar radiation transmission of nanoporous aerogel granules together with a robust optimal design, which is important for the promotion of green buildings with high-energy performance.

This work presents a comparison between centralized and decentralized control for cooperative distributed model predictive control scheme for linear systems. The presented scheme compensates the lack of accuracy and computational efficiency of model based technique for the geographically distributed controllers. The advantages of this control strategy is the ability to converges to the centralized optimal solution (Pareto optimum) and generate a control feedback that able to insure the closed-loop stability. A process of two subsystems is presented for simplicity, however, the strategy has the flexibility to be extended for any finite number of subsystems.

Power flow analysis in power system networks has been widely investigated by several methods to determine the unknown variables at each bus in the system. Moreover, many optimization functions have been integrated with the power flow methods to control the operation of some parameters in the network. In this paper, an overall power flow algorithm is performed to control the active power flow at PCC. A series VSI is connected between the main grid and the microgrid, in which its injected voltage is provided by using an optimization function so as to inject the required voltage magnitude and phase angle. The optimized series voltage will increase or decrease the PCC voltage, which will in turn change the microgrid DGs voltage. So that, the active power of every DG will also be varied since the DG control unit is provided with P/V droop characteristic. The performance of the power flow algorithm in satisfying the assigned active power reference at PCC has been verified by several case scenarios.

Travelling wire electrochemical spark machining (TW-ECSM) has the potential for the machining of advanced non-conducting materials like glass, quartz, silicon nitride, various composites and ceramics. In the present work, experimental investigations have been conducted on the magnetic field assisted travelling wire electrochemical spark machining (TW-ECSM) process. In this technique, a magnetic field has been introduced in the TW-ECSM process in order to improve the machining performance in terms of improved material removal rate (MRR) and reduced surface roughness (Ra) of non-conducting materials. Material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (Ra) were selected as the responses during the experimentation. The experimental results revealed that the magnetic field assisted approach gives reduced values of Ra and increased MRR when compared to the TW-ECSM process. The minimum and maximum values of surface roughness and MRR were found to be 7.42 A mu m and 0.19 mg/min with magnetic field assisted TW-WCSM process respectively. The optimization function has been developed to minimize Ra and maximize MRR for obtaining the optimum process parameters.

This paper proposed an improvement of genetic algorithm for optimization problem. In this study, the Gaussian function is applied in crossover and mutation operators instead of traditional crossover and mutation. The algorithm is tested on five benchmark problems and compared with the self-adaptive DE algorithm, traditional differential evolution (DE) algorithm, the JDE self-adaptive algorithm and the hybrid bat algorithm with natural-inspired. The computation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm can produce optimal solutions for all functions. Comparing to the other four algorithms, the proposed algorithm provides the best results. The finding proves that the algorithm should be improved in this direction.

Material models, properties of steel, the changes that occur during welding and different testing procedures were investigated as a starting point of the thesis work. The thesis project investigated the feasibility of using digital image correlation (DIC) in the process of material calibration. This consisted of the examination of local material properties at the weld toe of a welded joint, using digital image correlation in order to obtain the true strain field over the investigated area. The real stress-strain curves of the three material regions at the weld toe, namely, the weld material, base material and heat affected zone were obtained by means of material calibration, using an optimization function in Matlab, combined with the structural analysis capability of Abaqus. Since all weld geometries are significantly different, and the investigated area is very local, the accuracy of the Abaqus model is very important. Thus, in order to ensure a good correlation between the real test specimens and the Abaqus model, the test specimens were 3D scanned, and the obtained contour line was used in the creation of the model. The difficulty of the task arises from the presence of three different materials in a region where stress concentration is also present. Therefore, a test-run of the material calibration was performed on a statically loaded plate having a hole in the middle, serving as source of stress concentration and consisting of two materials. The results showed that deviation between the obtained stress-strain curves and the reference stress-strain curves was under 5 %, proving that the proposed material calibration procedure worked well. The DIC was performed on three test specimens, two of which were loaded statically and one was subjected to cyclic loading. One of the statically tested specimens was in its as welded state, while the other together with the cyclically loaded test specimen were treated with High Frequency Mechanical Impact (HFMI) treatment.
