The harsh environment of aero-engines poses great challenges to the traditional temperature measurement technology. Phosphor thermometry is a widely used non-contact measurement technology that can overcome the limitations of the traditional temperature measurement technology. The fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) approach of phosphor thermometry relies on the temperature dependent variation of the intensity ratio of the emission band corresponding to the thermally coupled energy level. The FIR method is widely recognized as a promising temperature measurement technique for its robustness against spectral loss and excitation intensity fluctuations, but suffers from low sensitivity and precision due to the narrow energy gap between thermally coupled levels. Novel thermally coupled energy levels and non-thermally coupled levels have been proposed to improve the temperature measurement sensitivity. However, how to obtain the optimal working wavelengths and bandwidths for high precision temperature measurement, especially at high temperature, remains a challenge. This study shows an optimization method of working wavelengths and bandwidths suitable for high precision phosphor thermometry in high temperature environments. The proposed method was constructed through the establishment of an evaluation system for emission bands, founded upon the principle of error theory, considering the significant thermal radiation in the aero-engine environment. The optimization method was experimentally verified for YSZ:Dy powder and YAG:Dy powder in the temperature range of 540-1542 K. It is shown that the maximum system error of the phosphorescent sample YAG:Dy was significantly reduced from 2.5 % to 0.36 % after optimization. Furthermore, the optimized emission bands of the phosphorescent sample YSZ:Dy exhibited considerable improvement in both system error and absolute sensitivity within the high temperature range. An optimization method for accurate ball loading in ball mills based on grinding kinetics

Grinding is a critical operation in mineral processing, with ball mills serving as essential equipment in these processes. This study presents an optimization method for accurate ball loading in ball mills based on grinding kinetics principles. The optimal media ball sizes for different particle size ranges were determined as X60 mm for -3 + 2 mm, X50 mm for -2 + 1 mm, X30 mm for -1 + 0.5 mm, and X30 mm for -0.5 + 0.1 mm particles. According to this optimization approach, the optimal media ratio was X60:X50:X30 = 25 %:35 %:40 %, resulting in a significant improvement in the grinding rate with a multi-level mixed ball loading scheme. Singlefactor and multi-factor orthogonal tests further revealed that the optimized grinding parameters include a media filling ratio of 25 %, a material ball ratio of 0.4, and a grinding concentration of 75 %. Industrial tests further confirmed the scientific validity and superiority of this ball loading optimization method. This approach provides valuable guidance for the design of ball mill media systems.

Dynamic modeling and optimization method for large amplitude ultrasonic osteotome for surgical robots

The current clinical application of ultrasonic osteotomes is mainly aimed at use by surgeons, with a lightweight design and small amplitude that limit the ability to fully utilize the advantages of surgical robots, such as load capacity, repetitive accuracy, and overall functionality. The cutting efficiency of traditional small-amplitude ultrasonic osteotomes is relatively low, making them mainly suitable for localized cutting of bone tissue with a thickness of less than 3 mm. To improve the clinical efficacy of ultrasonic osteotomes, this paper introduces a large-amplitude ultrasonic osteotome designed for surgical robots and establishes a corresponding dynamic model. Utilizing the boundary conditions of freedom at both ends and the continuity conditions of displacement and elastic force at each connection, we derive the longitudinal vibration frequency equation and an analysis formula for vibration modes. The dynamic model of the ultrasonic osteotome proposed in this paper serves as the foundation for optimization design and provides a mathematical modeling method that quantitatively describes the resonant frequency and vibration displacement characteristics of the ultrasonic osteotome without the need for complex and time-consuming numerical calculations, such as finite element analysis. A multi-objective optimization model for the ultrasonic osteotome was subsequently developed based on the dynamic model, and the optimal solution was derived using the three-stage method outlined in this paper. The feasibility of this dynamic modeling and optimization method for ultrasonic osteotomes in surgical robotic applications was verified by comparing the vibration characteristics and cutting performance of the ultrasonic osteotome before and after optimization through simulation analysis, performance testing, and cutting experiments. Demand Response Strategy optimization method Based on Differentiated Comprehensive Benefit Model of Air-Conditioning Customers

Air-conditioning systems are critical demand response (DR) resources, yet conventional temperature adjustment strategies based on fixed setpoints often neglect users' heterogeneous economic and comfort requirements. This paper proposes a DR strategy optimization method based on user-specific comprehensive benefit evaluation. Firstly, a quantitative model integrating economic benefits and thermal comfort loss is established through the DR benefit mechanism. Subsequently, a DR strategy optimization model is established with indoor temperature setpoints as variables to maximize comprehensive benefits. Finally, comparative simulations involving 15 customers with varying benefit parameters (basic profitability and labor elasticity coefficients) demonstrate the proposed strategy's superiority in load reduction and customers' benefit over traditional fixed setpoint methods. The results indicate the following: (1) the optimized strategy achieves greater load reduction under most scenarios than traditional fixed-setpoint adjustment strategies;(2) all participants obtain enhanced comprehensive benefits compared with traditional strategies;and (3) customers with lower profitability and less dependency on labor show better responsiveness. This study improves DR participation incentives by balancing economic and comfort benefits, providing theoretical support for designing user-specific demand-side management policies in smart building applications.

Virtualization resource scheduling and optimization method based on swarm intelligent systems

Efficient scheduling of virtualized resources can not only meet the service needs of users, but also achieve the optimal allocation of resources and the stable operation of the system. However, due to the dynamic and diversity of virtualized resources, the traditional scheduling methods have been difficult to meet the actual needs. Therefore, a virtual resource scheduling and optimization method based on Swarm Intelligence System (SIS) is proposed in this paper. The core idea of this method is to transform the Virtualized Resource Scheduling (VRS) problem into a multi-objective optimization problem, and use the particle swarm optimization algorithm of SIS to search for the optimal solution. By updating the speed and position of the particles, the scheduling scheme is optimized iteratively to maximize the utilization of resources and optimize the performance of the system. The experimental results show that the SIS-based virtual resource scheduling method can significantly improve the resource utilization and system performance while meeting the needs of users. Compared with other scheduling methods, this method has better adaptability and robustness, and provides a new solution for virtualization resource scheduling in cloud computing environment.

Dynamic multi-layer walkability model for transit-oriented movement: Nodes and Routes optimization method

This paper presents a novel approach to optimizing movement in urban areas through a dynamic multi-layer walkability model. This research uncovers new facets of walkability modeling within transit-oriented movement, aligning pedestrian pathways (Routes) with urban architecture, public spaces, and green spaces (Nodes). The dynamic multi-layer (DML) approach involves optimizing both the Nodes and Routes of the transit system using a multi-objective optimization method. This method improves accessibility and connectivity by aggregating the results of agent-based modeling for route simulations and considers multiple criteria, including greenness, distance to transit, and destination accessibility. Experimentation with a case study produced several findings that underscore the value of multi-layered models for transit movement and the power of computational methods in optimizing both Nodes and Routes. This discovery offers valuable insights into the DML process and its potential applications in the field of urban design and architecture.

Non-contact R test is an instrument to measure the synchronous errors of five-axis machine tools. However, there are still some deficiencies in its researches, such as the difficult and laborious calibrations. How to systematically improve the measurement accuracy with a good balance to minimum cost is a real problem in guiding practice. This paper proposes a new systematic optimization method to solve this problem based on a comprehensive understanding of the non-contact R test in terms of structure parameters and relations. Firstly, the algorithm for sphere center coordinates is established based on the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm to obtain the definite computational accuracy and efficiency. Secondly, the parameters of the fixture structure are optimized to maximize the measurement stability, measuring space, and non-interference space. Thirdly, the on-machine calibration is performed to replace pre-calibration and re-calibration and to establish the positional relationships between sensors, the fixture, and the machine tool simultaneously. It can reduce the difficulties of manufacture, maintenance, and application. Fourthly, the measurement accuracy can be evaluated to determine whether the iterative optimization achieves the goal. The proposed method has been verified with case studies to support the setting-up of the optimized non-contact R test, leading to a cost-effective and accurate test on five-axis machine tools.

Traditional center brace steel frame structural systems typically focus on refining the member cross-section size in the brace arrangement and optimization analysis. However, they often overlook the critical aspects of brace location and overall structural performance that are inherently interconnected. This study highlights the impact of different brace arrangement locations on the structural performance. Consequently, by employing the fundamental principle of maximum structural stiffness and a derived theoretical model of a simplified optimized arrangement, we proposed a novel method for optimizing the arrangement of center braces. This resulted in significant enhancements in the mechanical properties of the steel frame brace structural system compared with traditional approaches. It elucidated the intrinsic connection between the positional parameters of the center brace and the lateral resistance performance of each story and derived a theoretical formula validated through 190 ABAQUS finite element analysis models. Building on this foundation, this study further analyzed the factors influencing the lateral resistance performance within the frame brace system. A simplified mechanical model of the center brace steel frame structure was established, along with an explanation of the brace optimization principles using the basic brace unit. The static and dynamic performances of structures featuring optimal brace arrangements were thoroughly examined to understand their impact on the overall lateral performance and yielding mechanisms. Additionally, the dynamic response of the structures following the implementation of optimal brace arrangements was studied to explore the relationship between brace location and seismic performance.

optimization method of vehicle handling stability based on response surface model with D-optimal test design

In order to improve the handling stability of a vehicle, an optimization method of vehicle handling stability based on D-optimal test design was proposed in this paper. The multibody dynamic model was established and verified by experiments. On this basis, a response surface model was established based on D-optimal test design. An improved genetic-particle swarm algorithm was used to optimize the vehicle handling stability. The general evaluation score of vehicle handling stability was taken as the optimization objective. The vehicle structural parameters, tire and spring characteristics were regarded as design variables. The results showed that the multi-body dynamic model was accurate. After optimization, the general evaluation score of vehicle handling stability increased by 8.98 %;the score of the steering returnability and steady static circular test was increased by 20.43 % and 27.31 %, respectively. Then from the sensitivity of the optimization variables to the stability of the vehicle's handling, the rear wheel lateral stiffness has the greatest impact on it, with a sensitivity of 86.9 %;the wheelbase has the smallest impact on it, with a sensitivity of -3.39 %, which can be reduced in future optimization variable to improve design efficiency.

The optimization of machining allowance has an important influence on the machining quality of workpieces. This paper determined an optimization method for rough-finish milling allowance based on depth control of milling affected layer. Firstly, the coupling influence of rough-finish milling cutting depth on milling affected layer depth was studied by experiment. Secondly, the influence rule of rough milling and finish milling on the affected layer depth was studied by experiment, and the prediction model of the milling affected layer depth based on the cutting depth of rough milling and finish milling was established, as well as the surface roughness prediction model of the finish milling cutting depth. Finally, the effectiveness of the optimization results was verified by experiments. The experimental results show the optimized machining parameters can increase the machining efficiency by 31.2%, and the milling affected layer is 91 mu m, which indicates that the depth of milling affected layer is effectively controlled.
