As the increase of electric vehicles using, questions and problems arise regarding the infrastructure for their charging, so satisfying more charging demand at same time is expected for charging stations requires more attentions to the charging infrastructure planning. This paper presents an optimization tool for solar infrastructure charging, making it possible to obtain an optimized linear power flow with constraints of valid recharging time, daily consumption of electric vehicles, and the daily PV power production. This solution is based on an optimization algorithm making it possible to choose the most optimal charging stations for a given site according to the need for mobility. However, this criterion is not the only one taken into account. An additional investment cost criterion is considered in order to obtain a charging infrastructure that meets criteria that are closer to the social and economic reality of the population. It offers also a human-machine interface in the form of an Excel Template allowing to establish an interactive communication between the user and the optimization algorithm, it allows the receiver of user perspectives and the visualization of optimization results. Feasibility Analysis of a Fuel Cell-Based Tri-Generation Energy System Via the Adoption of a Multi-Objective optimization tool

The present paper investigates the feasibility of a tri-generation energy system in an industrial scenario with a modest size in terms of levels of electricity, heat, and cooling consumption. The technology under consideration is the fuel cell technology, both solid oxide fuel cells and proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), compared to other more mature technologies, such as micro gas turbines. The proposed investigation takes into account several scenarios: the existing economy and state-of-the-art technical key performance indicators of the involved energy systems;the state-of-the-art technical key performance indicators of the involved technologies and economic subsidies;and a future scenario that takes into account economies of scale and better performance using the key metrics for fuel cell technology forecasted as 2030 target at European level. The PEMFCs with lithium-ion storage showed total efficiencies in the order of 75% over three reference periods. In terms of emissions, they guarantee a decrease in carbon dioxide equivalent released into the atmosphere equal to 40% of the reference emissions for a separate generation.

The surface micro- and nano-scale features produced by femtosecond laser irradiation on titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and copper are reported in this work. Each observed surface microstructure, which was fabricated from a particular combination of four adjustable parameters, can be characterized by the fluence and pulses-per-spot (F-PPS) and accumulated fluence profile (AFP) models. By performing a wide screening of the experimental space, we have successfully mapped the evolution of microstructures as a function of two variables per model. We have also shown that these two models, in conjunction with one another and the data that we have presented, can be used as an optimization tool for scientists and engineers to quickly fine-tune the laser processing settings necessary for a desired surface topography. In addition, the electron-phonon coupling strength and thermal conductivity have been identified as the material properties that have the largest influence over the achievable surface patterns on metallic substrates. Designers are identified, in industry 4.0, as the professional figures that have to design well performing new object. In order to do this, it is necessary to take into account a series of properties called design objectives. Often the structural problem of new design is underestimated or even not considered. This can be a real problem because this objective is in competitive and in contrast with other design objectives. So, this can bring to substantial change in a design in the final phase and sometimes to the complete change. In this paper is presented an optimization workflow that adopt a Multi Objective optimization engine so called "Octopus" and Karamba3D, that is a Finite Elements (FE) plug-in, typically used in structural simulations, these extensions run in a software: Grassopper3D, that is a parametric design tool. The workflow allows designers to explore a large range of solutions and at the same time permits to filter and sort the optimized models in order to analyze the tradeoff of the resultant solution space, both qualitatively and quantitatively. In such way designers can obtain easily a lot of information of the generate design and identify potential solution for immediate use or for further optimization. In this paper is analyzed a design problem of an ergonomic chair in order to provide the efficiency of the workflow. The design criteria and the structural problem for this type of design object are identified as the main optimization objectives in order to iteratively improve the design solutions.

Solar Panel installation plays a vital role in optimum PV energy generation. The angle of solar panel installation matters to get optimum solar radiation which results in better power production. The angle basically tilt angle is directly correlated with latitude which changes with location around earth. But to optimize power access from the panel right tilt angle should be set up during installation;also it requires angle tuning over the time. This paper will present a unique way to adapt the challenges resulting in a cost effective solution for solar panel installation in order to optimize the solar power generation in a particular location.

Global warming has become one of the most significant environmental issues. To solve this problem, baseline model has been created by energy simulation to determine the future energy consumption. Meanwhile, reliability analysis needs to conduct between baseline model and existing building. This study aims to develop the minimum coefficient of variance of the root mean square error (CV(RMSE)) framework to improve the reliability of baseline model. The baseline model is considered to be accurate as the CV(RMSE) gets closer to 0%. As a follow-up research, the minimum CV(RMSE) will be used to develop the baseline model by conducting multi-objective optimization. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

In this paper, an improved genetic algorithm (IGA) implemented with reliable power system analysis tool is developed to determine the optimal planning and operation of battery energy storage system (BESS) in smart grid with photovoltaic (PV) generation. The main objectives are maximizing benefit from energy losses reduction and energy shaving enhancement, while minimizing the investment cost. Double layers optimization technique is implemented for determining the BESS siting and sizing in the first layer, while the maximum energy shaving is calculated in the second layer. The IGA implemented in MATLAB and DIgSILENT programs utilizing an automatic data exchange process is utilized for solving the optimal solution. This approach is tested on a practical 22 kV distribution network of Thailand to present the effectiveness of decision-making support tool. The simulation results show that the optimal BESS planning results in mitigating PV intermittency and improvement in smart grid efficiency.

This paper presents a new optimization tool for analog circuit design. Proposed tool is based on the robust version of the differential evolution optimization method. Corners of technology, temperature, voltage and current supplies are taken into account during the optimization. That ensures robust resulting circuits. Those circuits usually do not need any schematic change and are ready for the layout.. The newly developed tool is implemented directly to the Cadence design environment to achieve very short setup time of the optimization task. The design automation procedure was enhanced by optimization watchdog feature. It was created to control optimization progress and moreover to reduce the search space to produce better design in shorter time. The optimization algorithm presented in this paper was successfully tested on several design examples.
