Solar energy is widely utilized for water pumping systems, particularly in remote areas. However, such systems have different configurations and strategies, each with its own advantages and drawbacks. To design a suitable system, this paper proposes a method that utilizes a single-stage conversion system with hydraulic storage. In this method, the predictive torque controller (pTC) adjusts the inverter switching while the electrical storage in batteries is replaced by the potential energy of water in tanks. The pTC works side-by-side with a maximum power point tracking (MppT) technique to supply the optimal power to the water-pumping Induction Motor (IM). This maximum power tracking is maintained during the day hours toprovide and store water, whereas the water supply is guaranteed due to the gravity at night. The effectiveness of the proposed system is evaluated through MATLAB/Simulink-based results, demonstrating that the single-stage configuration outperforms the double-stage configuration in terms of power optimization, torque ripples, and power loss reduction. Furthermore, the suggested system offers the advantage of cost-effective installation due to its simple structure.

This paper proposes a Novel Zeta Converter (NZC) with high voltage gain to regulate the voltage in the DC bus. The proposed topology is developed with the inclusion of additional capacitor in the conventional zeta converter to improve the voltage gain. This structure reduces the number of switching devices and losses when compared with the conventional DC-DC high gain converters with higher efficiency. The converter is demonstrated in conjunction with a photovoltaic (pV) system to maximise the output voltage of the pV system and eminent p & oalgorithm based Maximum power point Tracking (MppT) has been employed. The proposed system yields a constant output voltage for 13% of load variation. A comparison is made between the proposed system with conventional topology and it is inferred that the output voltage can be made constant with minimum number of components and reduced losses. A simulation is carried out in MATLAB/Simulink and validated in real time with dspIC microcontroller. The simulation results are in line with the hardware result.

photovoltaic energy systems have an important role in electricity generation. Although photovoltaic systems are renewable, environmentally-friendly, silent and non-fuelled, they still have various disadvantages such as high investment cost and low efficiency. In order to get highest efficiency from photovoltaic systems in different operation conditions, solar panels and arrays should be operated at maximum power points. At maximum power point, solar arrays generate the electric energy at maximum efficiency and minimum losses. Some algorithms are used in photovoltaic systems toprovide maximum efficiency and minimum losses. The perturbation and observation (p&o) algorithm have been well known algorithm. Although it is an easily applicable algorithm, it has important ripple problems when it reaches to maximum power point. This paper introduces an improvement on conventional p&o algorithm to eliminate ripple problem and it applied on grid connected system. In this approach, ripples are eliminated by obtaining reference current value under variable and constant solar irradiation conditions. This algorithmproposes variable power perturbation with fill factor. In the end, it was evaluated along with simulation, experimental results.

Renewable Energy Sources, especially solar energy, are important in mitigating environmental problems. Following, a step-by-step modeling of a photovoltaic (pV) system that can be connected to the grid through converters is achieved. The proposed mathematical model is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. A maximum power point tracking (MppT) algorithm finds the maximum power for the operation of the pV system during variations of solar irradiance and ambient temperature. The proposed model is ready to be used for the implementation of energy storage that can provide power and voltage smoothing, peak shaving and standby generation in case of a grid fault.
