This paper presents a comparative experimental study of perturb and observe (p&o) and incremental conductance (inc) mpptalgorithm for an autonomous photovoltaic (pV) system. The steady-state and transient behavior of both the techniques are analyzed thoroughly. A laboratory setup for the stand-alone pV system is developed using a boost converter and the mpptalgorithm is implemented in a 10-bit Arduino mega 2560 micro-controller. The functionality of both the algorithms is observed at different irradiance and duty cycle perturbation which confirms that the performance of incalgorithm is better than p&o method.
