This paper presents the implementation of dynamic control of an automatic wheelchair. The control objective is to control the velocities of the left and right wheels to follow the desired velocity commands. The equations of motion of the wheelchair are derived. The proportional-integral-derivative (pid) control algorithm is applied by utilizing incremental encoders as the feedback of the velocities of both wheels. The analysis of the closed-loop system shows that the pid algorithm is applicable to control the velocities of the wheelchair. The pid parameters are tuned based upon the open-loop Ziegler-Nichols method. In the implementation, the control algorithm is modified by limiting the input rate to prevent the windup. The experimental results show that the effectiveness of the algorithm.

During the coal cutting process in mines, the drill stem is easy to be deflected in virtue of the complicated geological conditions. The deviation control of drill stems is of great significance for the production efficiency and service life of drill stems. Based on analyzing influence factors of the deflection of drills, this paper builds up a model to describe deflecting forces of the coal seam. Utilizing MPU6050, a three axis gyroscope, to get the deviation angles, an improved pid control algorithm is employed to guarantee directional drilling of the coal mining machine by applying electrohydraulic servo valves to rectify the deflective drill.

In this paper, a metaheuristic algorithm called pid-based search algorithm (PSA) is proposed for global optimization. The algorithm is based on an incremental pid algorithm that converges the entire population to an optimal state by continuously adjusting the system deviations. PSA is mathematically modeled and implemented to achieve optimization in a wide range of search spaces. PSA is used to solve CEC2017 benchmark test functions and six constrained problems. The optimization performance of PSA is verified by comparing it with seven metaheuristics proposed in recent years. The Kruskal-Wallis, Holm and Friedman tests verified the superiority of PSA in terms of statistical significance. The results show that PSA can be better balanced exploration and exploitation with strong optimization capability. This paper describes the analytical pid algorithm which has the adaptive self-tuning performance. It’s synthesis is made in a continuous domain. This means that identification is followed by recalculation into the continuous domain and the final gain of the algorithm is compensated due to sampling interval. Simulation experiments performed on analogue models as hybrid simulation in real time are also shown. The suggested design of the control algorithm is robust against the changes of the plant parameters and change of sampling interval. The simplicity of the control algorithm makes it suitable for initial experiments with adaptive algorithms in the teaching process and also in real control of heat exchangers and energetic plants.

With the rapid development of science and economy, people have accelerated the utilization and exploration of marine resources, and a large number of unmanned sailboats at sea have emerged. Aiming at the problem of automation sailboat scientific research, this paper designs an intelligent sailboat device based on pid algorithm, with the single chip MK60DN series as the control core. At the same time, this paper improves the traditional pid algorithm so that in the process of intelligent sailboat, automatic adjustment and feedback compensation of sailboat angle can be realized when wind force changes, so as to realize accurate closed-loop control of sail boat angle and ensure correct navigation. According to experiment results, the proposed system has been proved to be effective with the characteristics of high measuring precision, high sensitivity and high stability after being modified.
