Qiantang River is the largest river in Zhejiang Province and the mother river of *** middle and upper reaches of the basin are the Jinqu basin of Zhejiang *** both sides of the estuary are Hangjiahu Plain and xiaoshaoning *** is a gathering place of population and economic factors in Zhejiang Province,with a population of 10.8 *** floods in the Qiantang River Basin have caused serious losses to people's lives,property and social economy on both sides of the *** amount of water from Qiantang River is related to the harm of flood and waterlogging natural disasters,but also affects the utilization of water resources and the future social and economic development of Qiantang River *** paper attempts to combine the support vector machine model with the global optimization search method pso *** algorithm is used to optimize the penalty factor C and kernel parameters of support vector machine to improve the accuracy of the *** calculation shows that the calculation accuracy of this model is much higher than that of artificial neural network *** model can be used to predict the runoff of representative stations in Qiantang River Basin.

This paper presents the identification of a non-integer order model for the heat transfer process using the particle swarm optimization algorithm (pso), cockroach swarm optimization algorithm (CSO), gray wolf optimizer algorithm (GWO) and fminsearch function. In the beginning, fractional order systems have been discussed. Then an overview of individual optimization methods was prepared. Simulations have been carried out for all used the algorithms.

In this paper an uncertain dynamical system is investigated in which the coefficients are as a class of fuzzy sets and the fuzzy derivative is considered as the granular derivative. Furthermore, the notions of granular second order derivative of a fuzzy function, fuzzy overshoot, fuzzy rise-time, and fuzzy peak-time are introduced. As a result, designing a class of PID controllers called granular Fuzzy PID (gr-FPID) controller is presented based on fuzzy mathematics. The gr-FPID consists of granular integral, granular derivative with fuzzy coefficients. Moreover, the Particle Swarm Optimization (pso) algorithm is used to tune gr-FPID fuzzy coefficients. It is demonstrated that the gr-FPID controller can effectively control the temperature in a continuous stirred tank reactor in which the parameters are uncertain.

An optimization research on groove textures of a journal bearing using particle swarm optimization algorithm

This study aims to optimize the distributions of groove textures in a journal bearing to reduce its friction coefficient. Firstly, A lubrication model of a groove textured journal bearing is established, and the finite difference and overrelaxation iterative methods are used to numerically solve the model. Then, the friction coefficient is adopted as the fitness function and the groove lengths are optimized by particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm to evolve the optimal distributions. Furthermore, the effects of eccentricity ratios and rotary speeds on optimal distributions of groove textures are also discussed. The numerical results show the optimal distributions of groove textures are like trapeziums under different eccentricity ratios and rotary speeds, and the trapeziums become slenderer with increasing of eccentricity ratios. It is also found that the reductions of friction coefficients by optimal groove textures are more significant under lower eccentricity ratios. Briefly, this study may provide guidance on surface texture design to improve the tribological performance of journal bearings.

Multi-modal urban transit network design considering reliability: multi-objective bi-level optimization

Due to the presence of transportation infrastructure in metropolitan areas, authorities often seek to modify the capacity of existing urban transportation links. Therefore, to meet travel demands, it is necessary to consider public transport (PT) modes and carry out systematic planning. In this research, assuming the existence of urban transportation infrastructure, we develop a mathematical model to determine the amount of link capacity increase for the dual-mode PT network. Such an increase in capacity can improve the network capacity and travel time reliabilities under both normal and peak traffic conditions. To investigate this issue, travel demand is assumed to follow a lognormal distribution under normal conditions. Then, the total travel time and flow through the links are calculated and applied to the model using the Monte Carlo method. In this study, we assume that the links of both transport modes forming a path are interdependent. Moreover, due to NP-hardness, we propose the pso algorithm with dynamic parameters to solve the multi-objective bi-level model. Considering two public transport modes, we develop the algorithm for a part of the urban transportation network in Tehran, Iran.

Development of a surrogate method of groundwater modeling using gated recurrent unit to improve the efficiency of parameter auto-calibration and global sensitivity analysis

The correlations of the multiple time-series outputs of an original simulation model are difficult to take into account using traditional surrogate model techniques. This study proposes a novel surrogate model based on a deep learning structure called gated recurrent unit (GRU) network, with the aim of developing a substitute for an original simulation model with large temporal and spatial variations and of improving the computational efficiency of studies that require thousands of model executions. First, a numerical groundwater flow model was established as the original simulation model, and then, a GRU network was trained using the two-dimensional outputs of the original simulation model. After this, the parameter was auto-calibrated by combining the GRU surrogate with the particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm. Furthermore, a Sobol' sensitivity analysis was conducted for multiple time nodes. The results demonstrate that the GRU-based surrogate model exhibits a high accuracy and the ability to manage problems with multiple time-series outputs. The GRU surrogate combined with the pso algorithm has an excellent ability to implement high-dimensionality parameter calibration tasks. In addition, the Sobol' sensitivity analysis based on the GRU surrogate exhibits a sufficient capacity to capture the temporal characteristics of the simulation model parameters. The surrogate based on the GRU also significantly reduces the computational costs. The GRU-based surrogate technique not only can facilitate the groundwater studies, but can also have an excellent application potential for other long-term water resource managements.

Designing a sustainable-resilient disaster waste management system under hybrid uncertainty: A case study

Due to the increase in the number of natural disasters and the significant amounts of waste generated in these events, having a comprehensive framework for its management in the recovery and response phases of disaster is necessary. Hence, this research investigates the disaster waste management problem by simultaneous consideration of sustainability and resiliency. In this regard, a multi-objective mathematical model is presented to minimize total costs, environmental impacts, and transportation risks while maximizing social impacts and resilience of the logistics system. Since uncertainty is an integral part of disaster conditions, the research problem formulates the fuzzy robust stochastic optimization model under the hybrid uncertainty. Then, a real-world case study is studied in Golestan province, Iran. Afterward, transportation risks are calculated by adopting the fuzzy failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) method, and then the proposed model is solved by a hybrid algorithm based on the multi-choice goal programming method and particle swarm optimization algorithm (pso). Eventually, sensitivity analyses on some important model parameters are conducted, and practical managerial/theoretical implications are presented. The obtained results show the efficiency and performance of the model and the developed hybrid algorithm.

Research on Optimal Charging of Power Lithium-Ion Batteries in Wide Temperature Range Based on Variable Weighting Factors

With the popularity of electric vehicles (EV), the charging technology has become one of the bottleneck problems that limit the large-scale deployment of EVs. In this paper, a charging method using multi-stage constant current based on SOC (MCCS) is proposed, and then the charging time, charging capacity and temperature increase of the battery are optimized by multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOpso) algorithm. The influence of the number of charging stages, the cut-off voltage, the combination of different target weight factors and the ambient temperature on the charging strategy is further compared and discussed. Finally, according to the ambient temperature and users' requirements of charging time, a charging strategy suitable for the specific situation is obtained by adjusting the weight factors, and the results are analyzed and justified on the basis of the experiments. The results show that the proposed strategy can intelligently make more reasonable adjustments according to the ambient temperature on the basis of meeting the charging demands of users.

The control of the optical properties of ZnO nanostructured thin films by using different dopant elements paves the way for the development of potential materials for photonic and optoelectronic applications. In this work manganese (Mn) doped ZnO thin films were fabricated by rapid thermal evaporation method on a glass substrate having the same Mn content level of similar to 10% and annealed at different temperatures. XRD analysis showed that the annealed layers have hexagonal wurtzite structure, however, the unannealed layers showed only Zn peaks without any preferential direction. The elemental analysis of the films has been investigated by XPS, which revealed the presence of Mn and oxygen atoms for all layers. In addition, it was observed by FIB-SEM that the morphology of thin films changed with the annealing temperature. For an anneal at 500 degrees C nanoneedles appeared. Raman spectroscopy showed E-1 (TO) mode in the sample annealed at 500 degrees C which was attributed with the formation of nanoneedles structures. The optical transmission of the annealed films was in the range of 75-77% and the optical bandgap varied from 3.97 to 3.72 eV. These variations are related to the structural and morphological changes of the thin films with annealing temperature.

Random convergence analysis of particle swarm optimization algorithm with time-varying attractor

The pso convergence analysis is mainly based on the constant attractor, however, the attractor of pso algorithm in the evolutionary process is time-varying point. So, the objective of this study is to mainly discuss the random convergence analysis of the standard and improved particle swarm optimization with the time-varying attractor. Its mathematical pso model with the time-varying attractor is provided to calculate the convergence condition and the corresponding convergence speed. Specifically speaking, spectral radii of the random transfer matrix and the product of two adjacency random transfer matrices are calculated to determine the convergence or the divergence, together with the corresponding convergence speed. Additionally, it also calculates the mean and variance of the first and second order particle swarm optimization system with time-varying attractor. Numerical results highlight that the spectral analysis on some benchmark optimization functions is described to show the effectiveness of the obtained results, while the corresponding analysis is closely related to the objective fitness, the convergence speed, the time-varying attractor, the spectral radius of Mu(t) and Mu(t + 1) Mu(t), and swarm convergence behavior in the evolutionary process.
