Bayesian network structure learning based on HC-pso algorithm

Structure learning is the core of graph model Bayesian Network learning, and the current mainstream single search algorithm has problems such as poor learning effect, fuzzy initial network, and easy falling into local optimum. In this paper, we propose a heuristic learning algorithm HC-pso combining the HC (Hill Climbing) algorithm and pso (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm, which firstly uses HC algorithm to search for locally optimal network structures, takes these networks as the initial networks, then introduces mutation operator and crossover operator, and uses pso algorithm for global search. Meanwhile, we use the DE (Differential Evolution) strategy to select the mutation operator and crossover operator. Finally, experiments are conducted in four different datasets to calculate BIC (Bayesian Information Criterion) and HD (Hamming Distance), and comparative analysis is made with other algorithms, the structure shows that the HC-pso algorithm is superior in feasibility and accuracy.

Geometric optimization of radiative enclosures using pso algorithm

A Shape optimization of a two-dimensional radiative enclosure with diffuse-gray surfaces is studied by the particle swarm algorithm. The goal of the design problem is to achieve an optimized geometry to satisfy the desired temperature and heat flux distributions over a part of radiative enclosures, namely the design surface. The radiative transfer equation is solved by the discrete transfer method. In order to optimize the geometry of enclosure, the positions of the control points of the B-spline curves which represent the geometry of the enclosure are optimized. Some numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effects of mesh refinements and shape parameters on the resultant geometry and the convergence rate. (C) 2012 Elsevier Masson SAS. Best pattern for placement of piezoelectric actuators in classical plate to reduce stress concentration using pso algorithm

The purpose of this article is using piezoelectric actuators to reduce stress concentration factor in classic plates under tensile force. There are three classic plates in this study including plates with hole, notched plates, and filleted plates. Here we look for optimal models for placement of the introduced piezoelectric actuators at different ratios of stiffness to maximize reduction in stress concentration factor. In order to optimize piezoelectric actuators placement, particle swarm optimization algorithm is used. The results show that the location of patches is changed by different values of stiffness ratio (stiffness of plate/stiffness of patches). The findings indicate that the piezoelectric actuators placement models are different for stiffness values at smaller and greater than 1 in classical plates. For stiffness ratios smaller than 1, the patches can reduce the stress directly. However, the actuators follow a certain model in all classic plates at stiffness ratio greater than 1, and reduce stress stream indirectly by affecting the stress stream. The results show that there is a certain model for placement of piezoelectric actuators at any certain stiffness ratio in all classical plates. Three empirical tests have been used to validate the results.

The "minus beam" steering of the phased arrays deviates from the given direction because of the quantization phase in the digital phased shifter. This paper studied the theory of wide-beam and "minus beam" and investigated the model of the particle swarm optimization method on the arrays' beam steering, and modified the range of the position and speed factor by the principle of random phase quantization. The simulating results show the effectiveness and correctness of the method.

Test cases generation for multiple paths based on pso algorithm with metamorphic relations

The generation of multiple-path test cases can greatly enhance the efficiency of path-wise testing. Various methods adopting meta-heuristic algorithm to generate multiple-path test cases have been proposed, but existing methods focus on improving the meta-heuristic algorithm to get better test case generation efficiency, and test cases covering each path needs to be generated by meta-heuristic algorithm searching. To improve efficiency, a test case generation method for multiple-path coverage is proposed in this study, which combines a particle swarm optimisation (pso) algorithm with metamorphic relations (MRs). The method first generates a test case using the pso algorithm, and then generates new test cases by repeatedly using MRs between test cases. This method reduces evolving numbers of pso algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can significantly enhance the efficiency in terms of fitness evaluations and time consumption.

A three diode model for industrial solar cells and estimation of solar cell parameters using pso algorithm

A new lumped-parameter equivalent circuit model using three-diodes is presented in this work for large area (similar to 154.8 cm(2)) industrial silicon solar cells. The estimation of values of ideality factors n(1) (>1) and n(2) (>2) using a Particle Swarm Optimization (pso) algorithm for the two-diode model of the industrial samples has been found not to be in conformity with the theoretical values (n(1) = 1 and n(2) = 2 in the literature). The two diodes of the two-diode model are not able to define the different current components of the solar cells clearly. A model with three-diodes has been proposed to better explain the experimental data. In the proposed model, we considered the series resistance, R-s, of the solar cell to vary with the current flowing through the solar cell device. All the parameters of the proposed model have been estimated using a pso algorithm and they were compared with the parameters of the two-diode model. The new model has been found to be a better model to define clearly the different current components of the large size industrial silicon solar cells. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Optimization of characteristics of an array of thin fins using pso algorithm in confined cavities heated from a side with free convection

In this paper, optimal characteristics of very conductive thin fins in the confined cavity are obtained. Free convection is dominant mode of heat transfer in the cavity, and the conductive fins are attached to the vertical hot wall of the cavity. Continuity, momentum and energy equations are discretized by finite volumes, and are solved by the finite volume method through the SIMPLER approach. pso algorithm is used for optimization problem, where a pair of coordinates (x, y) is selected for each fin such that y is the position of each fin and x is its size. The fins are attached on the vertical hot wall of the cavity coincide with grids of a domain. This work is performed by a subprogram. For modeling of very conductive thin fins, diffusion coefficients in momentum and energy equations are taken as infinity. pso algorithm is applied to obtain characteristics of an array of thin fins. Results obtained from pso algorithm are compared with reference values. Results obtained from the present work show that this method is able to obtain characteristics, of thin fins on the vertical hot wall. Results obtained from pso algorithm show that an array of very conductive thin fins decreases heat transfer from a cavity with high Rayleigh number (Ra =10(7)). (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. The cold rolling production scheduling problem is an extremely difficult process, so it is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution with traditional optimization methods. Based on rolling feature of continuous tandem cold rolling mill, such as multi-variable, strong coupling, non-linear, this paper presents a Particle Swarm Optimization (pso) algorithm schedule optimization procedure for tandem cold rolling mills, base to computer powerful data processing capacity. Adopt the power distribution cost function as objective function, make the rolling force, rolling power, rolling torque, speed and other parameters meet certain requirement. Sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT) replaces a constrained optimization problem with a sequence of unconstrained optimization problem. Apply pso algorithm to optimize the objective function to obtain the optimal solution. It makes the reasonable distribution of tandem cold rolling power, gives full play to equipment capacity and improves the production efficiency.

The pso (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm uses a population of single particles, randomly distributed over the function search space, in order to construct an optimal flight path. During the algorithm iteration execution, each particle evaluates its fitness function according to the actual position. Then, every particle moves towards a direction dependent on its actual best position and the position of the best particle so far. The procedure ends when the iteration limit is reached or fitness criterium is met. In the presented autonomous UAV 3D path planning method, a pso algorithm is used to build a feasible path, optimized in terms of fuel and threat cost. The process begins when the UAV detects or receives information about threats appearing on its primary trajectory. The population of particles moves in the search space of three variables, which are the angles of pitch, roll and yaw. These angles determine the spatial orientation of the UAV, indicating its direction of movement in each step. Further waypoints are chosen with consideration of the distance to the target and violation of threat areas. As a final result, the pso algorithm constructs a suboptimal, feasible path which could be used as a reference trajectory for the UAV's automatic control system. Simulation results turned out to be completely repeatable and indistinguishable, despite the stochastic nature of the algorithm, which proves its great optimization abilities. Moreover, its short execution time (within seconds) allows this procedure to be used in real time applications.

Design of dual-band Wilkinson power divider based on novel stubs using pso algorithm

In this paper, a new dual-band Wilkinson power divider (WPD) is designed and fabricated using novel low and high impedance stubs instead of quarter-wavelength transmission lines. The proposed circuit was analyzed using odd and even mode analysis, and the optimal values of design parameters were obtained using the particle swarm optimization algorithm. The designed power divider has input reflection coefficients (S-11) of -22.1 and -17 dB at the first operating frequency of 2.2 GHz and the second operating frequency of 14.2 GHz, respectively. It also improves stop-band and fractional bandwidth (FBW) while maintaining a simple topology. The proposed WPD suppresses undesired harmonics from the second to the fifth with an attenuation level of less than -20 dB in the first band and generates a broad stop-band (4.4-11.5 GHz). In the first band, the FBW is 54.5%, and in the second band, it is 20.1%.
