Considering the safety factors in the railway, this paper mainly focuses on the optimal speed of high-speed train or locomotive from the starting station to the ending station. Firstly, some concepts in the railway safety, which include the risk source, hidden danger, accident and safety warning point, are introduced to better understand the railway safety factors. Secondly, the mathematical model including objective function and the corresponding constraints is analyzed to solve the optimal train speed problem. Thirdly, the pso algorithm is used to provide and design the optimal speed train from the starting station to the ending station. Simulation results show that pso algorithm can handle with the optimal train speed problem and the obtained optimal speed are provided to ensure the train safety in the constant transportation time.

Straightness error is the commonest one of form errors. In this paper, an intelligent evaluation method for straightness errors is provided. According to characteristics of straightness error evaluation, Particle Swarm Optimization (pso) is proposed to evaluate the minimum zone error. The evolutional optimum model and the calculation process for using the pso to evaluate minimum zone error are introduced in detail. Compared with conventional optimum methods such as simplex search and Powell method, pso algorithm can find the global optimal solution, and the precision of calculating result is very good. Compared to genetic algorithms (GA), pso is easy to implement and there are few parameters to adjust. Finally, a numerical example is carried out. The control experiment results evaluated by using different method such as the least square, simplex search, Powell optimum methods, Simulated Annealing algorithms (SAA), GA and pso, indicate that the proposed method does provide better accuracy on straightness error evaluation, and it has fast convergent speed as well as using computer.

Aiming at the problems of complex modeling and low calculation efficiency during dynamical optimization of tracked vehicles, a method for the closed-loop system called Riccati transfer matrix method for multibody system is proposed. In order to reduce the vibration acceleration of track shoes in the driving process, this paper uses the pso algorithm and utilizes a strategy of decreasing the inertia weight to optimize the structural parameters of tracked vehicles. The research shows that the root mean square of vibration acceleration of track shoes above the support rollers is obviously reduced. This method provides a theoretical reference for the design of tracked vehicles and is beneficial to the dynamic design of complex systems.

In this paper, a multi-objective pso algorithm based on escalating strategy will be proposed. The main idea of this escalating strategy is to re-generate the whole evolutionary population with some technology, which results in a new population significantly indifferent from the old one while inheriting the evolutionary information from the history. By this way, the performance on global convergence can be enhanced, and premature can be avoided simultaneously. A neighborhood search procedure is imposed on some selected Pareto solutions to accelerate the evolution process for reaching a global Pareto set with well distribution. Some typical multi-objective optimization test problems are taken to solve with escalation pso and non-escalation pso respectively to verify the effectiveness of the new algorithm. The details about how to select appropriate escalating parameters and their effect on the performance of EMpso are also investigated to show that the EMpso with random inertia weight factor has some advantage over than that of fixed inertia weight.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is composed by a set of sensor nodes with low energy consumption and low cost which could sense quantities like humidity, temperature, pressure and send them to the central node. The routing optimization in IoT networks is required taking into account the traffic, congestion, and failure of some or all network services. In fact, low traffic and network congestion means high quality routing in that network. Increasing the network lifetime and improving the routing quality is one of the main concerns of IoT-based sensor networks. In this paper, a new clustering algorithm is proposed to increase the network efficiency in the IoT-based sensor networks using the fuzzy logic and particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm. In this approach, the cluster was created in WSN using energy modelling for effective routing of data packages via using fuzzy logic and (pso). The stimulation results of the proposed method showed higher capabilities by comparison with reported algorithms (e.g. LEACH, FLCFP, HEED, FBCFP) s that were used for energy consumption optimization in WSN.

In this paper, an enhanced FCS-MPC control scheme is introduced for DFIG-based wind turbines. Controllers employing FCS-MPC to govern power converters often exhibit elevated switching frequencies, leading to notable switching losses and the potential for damaging power converters. This paper addresses this issue by using the pso meta-heuristic algorithm to optimize switching frequencies. Notably, the optimization is performed while adhering to the IEEE Standards' waveform requirements for the current injected into the PCC. FCS-MPC with a single step prediction horizon performs well but leads to high switching frequencies for power converters. This issue persists when using a prediction horizon with dual step. To overcome this issue, a pso optimized penalty term is incorporated into the cost function to minimize the overall switching frequency. The obtained results demonstrates a significant reduction in the switching frequency of DFIG converters without compromising control. The average switching frequencies for RSC and GSC are decreased by 1,67 kHz and 14,98kHz, respectively, in comparison to conventional MPC. While the THD level of the grid current is evaluated at 3.98%, which is fully coplying with IEEE 519 Std.

Computational encoding DNA sequence design is one of the most important steps in molecular computation. A lot of research work has been done to design reliable sequence library. A revised method based on the support system developed by Tanaka et al. is proposed here with different criteria to construct fitness function. Then we adapt particle swarm optimization (pso) algorithm to our encoding problem. By using the new algorithm, a set of sequences with good quality is generated. The result also shows that our pso-based approach could rapidly converge at the minimum level for an output of the simulation model. The celerity of the algorithm fits our requirements.
