The article describes one of the fastest growing and important areas of information technology - the 3D modeling of buildings and structures. In particular, the results of the work performed when creating a three-dimensional model of Satbayev University, which is the first technical university in the Republic of Kazakhstan, are considered. The main goal of the work is to create an interactive three-dimensional model of the university building based on laser scanning data and aerial photography from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A detailed 3D model was built by combining images taken from the DJI Phantom 4 Pro UAV and a dense point cloud obtained from the Leica RTC360 laser scanner. Based on the work performed, the advantages and disadvantages of the integrated use of these techniques were evaluated. The results obtained are planned to be integrated with AR / VR technologies, BIM, GIS, and web mapping.

Extracting Moving Objects More Accurately: A CDA Contour Optimizer

In the area of change detection, there were a rare number of optimization methods. Most of the optimization methods that are used by change detection are morphological transformation or median filtering, which cannot best optimize change detection algorithm. In this paper, a general post-processing algorithm for change detection is proposed. We believe that some problems cannot be avoided in the area of change detection such as 1) region of moving object generated by change detection is slightly larger than the ground-truth and 2) there are always some disjoint and small regions that are independent from the moving objects. To address the problem, our method can optimize the change detection algorithm bases on the idea of edge detection, which can remove the wrong edge or pixel. In the experiments, more than 20 change detection algorithms that include the best algorithm in *** are selected. Most of these change detection algorithms are optimized by the proposed method on PWC, Precision, and FMeasure, where, our optimized algorithm named FgSegNet_v2 is better than all other algorithms in the CDnet. The best-optimized margin of PWC is 0.64, and the fast speed is 548FPS on CPU. Our approach can better resolve the afore-mentioned problems that cannot be avoided and is general and fast. The experiments can be reproduced with C++ on Github https://***/walty19950301/CDA-contour-optimizer.

The noise measurement data of the single fly-over aircraft noise levels are fundamental noise events information to understand the existing situation of noise from aircraft operations under the major flight path near the airport. The standardized noise measurement method is described under the ISO 20906 as a background study of Thai version guidelines of the aircraft noise measurement in community. Under the major flight path, the noise situation at the receiver sites in communities may need to be collected to contribute those noise data to the social survey and noise-dose relationship study, and/or the noise impact assessment study, and other purposes. In this paper, we will provide the post-processing algorithm which employs two-step clustering approach to calculate the single events of fly-over aircraft noise in sound exposure levels from the measured time series of the 100 milliseconds A-weighted sound pressure levels by sound level meter complied with ISO/IEC 61672 class 1. It will be useful for post-assessing the cumulative aircraft noise events in other sound descriptors as stated in ISO 1996 for environmental noise purposes. © ICA *** rights reserved

On posterior contraction of parameters and interpretability in Bayesian mixture modeling

We study posterior contraction behaviors for parameters of interest in the context of Bayesian mixture modeling, where the number of mixing components is unknown while the model itself may or may not be correctly specified. Two representative types of prior specification will be considered: one requires explicitly a prior distribution on the number of mixture components, while the other places a nonparametric prior on the space of mixing distributions. The former is shown to yield an optimal rate of posterior contraction on the model parameters under minimal conditions, while the latter can be utilized to consistently recover the unknown number of mixture components, with the help of a fast probabilistic post-processing procedure. We then turn the study of these Bayesian procedures to the realistic settings of model misspecification. It will be shown that the modeling choice of kernel density functions plays perhaps the most impactful roles in determining the posterior contraction rates in the misspecified situations. Drawing on concrete posterior contraction rates established in this paper we wish to highlight some aspects about the interesting tradeoffs between model expressiveness and interpretability that a statistical modeler must negotiate in the rich world of mixture modeling.

A New Secure and Efficient Approach for TRNG and Its post-processing algorithms

Random numbers are important parameters for the security of cryptographic applications. In this study, a secure and efficient generator is proposed to generate random numbers. The first part of the generator is a true random number generator that consists of chaotic systems implemented on FPGA. The second part of the generator is a post-processing algorithm used to overcome the problems that emerge from the generator or environmental factors. As the post-processing algorithm, Keccak, the latest standard of hash algorithm, was rearranged and used. Random numbers with the proposed approach meet the security requirements for cryptographic applications. Furthermore, the NIST 800-22 test suite and autocorrelation test are used to ensure the generated numbers have no statistical weakness. The successful test results demonstrate the security of the generated numbers. An important advantage of the proposed generator does not cause any data loss and perform 100% efficiency although data loss can be up to 70% in some post-processing algorithms.

Automated fiber placement (AFP) is a recent development of composite manufacturing technology and is widely used in the field of aerospace. The post processing of AFP has an important influence to the stability of machine movement and the manufacturing accuracy. This paper presents a post processing algorithm of a kind of 7-DOF gantry-type automated fiber placement equipment. The linking coordinates are set up according to the structure of the machine. To solve the redundant degree problem, pose separation method is adopted to calculate the inverse kinematics of the spindle rotation DOF and the other six movement DOFs of the manipulator respectively. Finally, reasonable parameters of each motion of the machine are obtained by the proposed post-processing method.

Solving a chipless RFID inverse problem based on tag range estimation

Moving toward commercialisation of chipless radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems, there is a significant challenge for the detection of chipless tag in a practical application, in which the conventional calibration techniques such as background subtraction are insufficient or even impractical. In this study, first, a processing algorithm for an inverse problem based on the range estimation is introduced. In an inverse problem, the tag ID and its distance to the reader are unknown. Employing the proposed algorithm, provided the specification of the reader antenna is known, the desired component of the received signal corresponding to the tag ID can be extracted without the requirement of background calibration. Then, a post-processing algorithm is proposed for the extraction of the tag ID, which provides a sustained detection outcome at an arbitrary distance. The proposed algorithms are verified with the help of a few datasets acquired from the simulation environment as well as measurement setups. A typical backscattering chipless RFID tag with six resonances is examined. The distance between the tag and the reader antenna is estimated, and the binary tag ID extracted successfully.

It is possible to divine a speaker's age, gender and emotion through his pitch independently of what he is saying. However, the same words can lead to different meanings with variations intonation. Meanwhile, precise pitch estimation is more or less difficult because tracked pitch contours are not perfectly smooth curves. In this paper, we introduce a new post-processing algorithm for the tracking of pitch contours. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method using the Keele university database. Experimental results indicate that the gross pitch errors rate (GPE) is lower than comparative methods.

Optimisation of a concentration measurement sensor for nano sized zero valent iron using numerical simulation

The concentration of nano sized zero valent iron (nZVI) is an important criterion for the in-situ remediation of ground water contaminations. To measure the magnetic susceptibility of nZVI, two specified cylindrical coils with the desired measuring range and the corresponding post-processing algorithm (PPA) are presented to determine the concentration change of nZVI during the remediation process. To accurately calculate the concentration of nZVI, numerical simulations are required to evaluate the actual magnetic susceptibility of nZVI filled in the column and the change of the self-inductance of each coil because of nZVI. To improve the efficiency of the presented algorithm, an optimal frequency for the measurement is determined by taking into account the equivalent capacitance of the coil and the cable. Moreover, two special boundary conditions for the efficient calculation of the parasitic capacitances are presented. Finally, two experiments have been performed to verify the developed sensor and the measurement method.

Based on second order hidden markov model (HMM), this paper proposed a Viterbi-decoding chunking algorithm and a novel chunking post-processing algorithm. The method for estimating the parameter in HMM makes use of token subcategory and lexicalization information, which balances the disambiguation ability and data sparseness problem in maximum likelihood estimate (MLE) caused by the token subcategory and lexicalization. To compensate for the absence of complex context during HMM based chunking, this paper proposed a post-processing algorithm which makes a stable improvement to chunking algorithm and avoids the illegal token path in chunking. The experiment indicates that the performance of this chunking system achieves 93% f-measure on the CoNLL 2000 standard testing corpus.
