This study addresses the preassigned-time synchronization for complex-valued memristive neural networks with reaction-diffusion terms and Markov parameters. Employing a preassigned-time stable control strategy, two distinct controllers with varying power exponent parameters are designed to ensure that synchronization can be achieved within a predefined time frame. Unlike existing finite/fixed-time results, a priori specification of the settling time is addressed. Furthermore, Green's formula and boundary conditions are efficiently applied to overcome potential symmetry loss. Additionally, the activation function's constraint range is more lenient compared to existing constraints. Finally, the effectiveness of the presented methods are demonstrated through two examples.

In this paper, the problem of the preassigned-time synchronization is studied for a class of delayed fuzzy cellular neural networks with discontinuous activations via preassigned-time control. Above all, with the help of the existing classical fixed-time stability theory and via variable substitutions, a new fixed-time stability result is established, and the derived estimation of settling times are tighter than the existing ones. Subsequently, as applications of the new fixed-time stability results, a novel preassigned-time stability theorem is derived, and some novel and useful sufficient criteria are obtained to guarantee that the addressed neural networks achieve preassigned-time synchronization. The preassigned synchronization time is not only independent of the initial value, system and controller parameters, but also can be preassigned in advance based on the actual needs. Additionally, to suppress or eliminate the chattering phenomenon, a saturation function is designed to replace the sign function in the controller, and its effectiveness has been verified by numerical simulation. Especially, one of the power exponents of the two differently designed preassigned-time controllers can change smartly instead of being a fixed constant. Lastly, two numerical examples with simulations are given to present the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Two ZNN-Based Unified SMC Schemes for Finite/Fixed/preassigned-time synchronization of Chaotic Systems

Sliding mode control (SMC) is widely recognized as an effective control scheme for the synchronization of chaotic systems (CSs). However, numerous existing SMC schemes for chaos synchronization assume a noise-free environment and depend on multiple parameters. In this study, to address these limitations, two zeroing neural network (ZNN) schemes are utilized to establish nonlinear sliding mode surfaces and control laws for the first time. As a result, two ZNN-based unified SMC schemes, namely ZNN-USMC schemes, are put forward to accomplish finite/fixed/preassigned-time synchronization of CSs. Notably, theoretical analysis proves that the constructed ZNN-USMC schemes can achieve finite-time, fixed-time, or preassigned-time synchronization of CSs under bounded disturbances. Furthermore, synchronization simulations are provided to substantiate the convergence and robustness of these novel schemes. Ultimately, the ZNN-USMC schemes are applied to memristor chaotic systems to demonstrate their feasibility.

Finite-time synchronization is a crucial phenomenon observed in nonlinear complex systems, the settling time in such a dynamic phenomenon is heavily depends on the initial states which may be unaccessible beforehand in the real world. Eliminating the dependence of the settling time on initial states leads to major advantage and convenience in practical applications. This paper is concerned with the fixed-/preassigned-time synchronization of delayed complex-valued neural networks(CVNNs) with discontinuous activations. By designing novel state feedback controllers, and with the help of Filippov regularization and inequality techniques, some new criteria for achieving fixed-/preassigned-time synchronization are established. The obtained theoretical results cover and supplement existing ones of the CVNNs with continuous activations. In addition, the upper-bound of the settling time is explicitly estimated. Finally, the validity of the theoretical results is supported by numerical simulations.

The fixed-time synchronization and preassigned-time synchronization are investigated for a class of quaternion-valued neural networks with time-varying delays and discontinuous activation functions. Unlike previous efforts that employed separation analysis and the real-valued control design, based on the quaternion-valued signum function and several related properties, a direct analytical method is proposed here and the quaternion-valued controllers are designed in order to discuss the fixed-time synchronization for the relevant quaternion-valued neural networks. In addition, the preassigned-time synchronization is investigated based on a quaternion-valued control design, where the synchronization time is preassigned and the control gains are finite. Compared with existing results, the direct method without separation developed in this article is beneficial in terms of simplifying theoretical analysis, and the proposed quaternion-valued control schemes are simpler and more effective than the traditional design, which adds four real-valued controllers. Finally, two numerical examples are given in order to support the theoretical results.

This paper is dedicated to fixed-time anti-synchronization (FXTAS) and preassigned-time synchronization (PATS) of discontinuous fuzzy inertial neural networks with mixed time-varying delays. Different from the traditional continuous neural network model, the differential inclusion theory is utilized to deal with discontinuous systems. Then, based on Lyapunov stability theory, two operational and efficient pure power-law control schemes are designed to ensure FXTAS and PATS. PATS is more flexible than fixed-time synchronization because its settling-time can be set in advance according to the actual situation. Finally, two numerical simulations are given to confirm the consistency with the theoretical results obtained in this paper.

This paper is mainly devoted to fixed/preassigned-time synchronization problem for a type of full complex-variable BAM neural networks (BAMNNs) by means of direct analysis method to replace the classical decomposition approach. Above all, under the framework of the complex-valued signum function and two different forms of norms, several effective complex-valued control strategies are directly developed to ensure fixed-time synchronization, and the derived criteria are less conservative than the previous related results. In addition, the preassigned-time synchronization is also considered by directly designing some complex-valued control laws with bounded control gains, in which the synchronization time can be preset arbitrarily in advance within the actual allowable range. The theoretical results are lastly supported via numerical examples.

For the high-dimension-valued fuzzy neural networks (HDVFNNs) models with time-varying delays, the fixed/preassigned-time synchronization is explored deeply in this paper. Instead of the separation approach, a direct method in complex field or quaternion skew field is fully utilized, which is suitable for a wider range. Furthermore, two fuzzy controllers without sign function based on the direct method are designed, which can effectively avoid the frequent switching and chattering phenomena involved by sign functions. Then, we derive two sufficient conditions to realize the desired the fixed/preassigned-time synchronization of the addressed HDVFNNs. The fixed-time synchronization and preassigned-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks are concerned in this article. By developing fixed-time stability and proposing a pure power-law control scheme, some simple conditions are obtained to realize fixed-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks and the upper bound of the synchronized time is provided. Furthermore, the preassigned-time synchronization of quaternion-valued neural networks is investigated based on pure power-law control design, where the synchronization time is preassigned in advance and the control gains are finite. Note that the designed controllers in this paper are the pure power-law forms, which are simpler and more effective compared with the traditional design composed of the linear part and power-law part. The problem of fixed-time (FXT) and preassigned-time (PAT) synchronization for delayed dynamic complex networks via developing control schemes is concerned. First, by comparing with the existing results, some new results for delayed networks model to ensure the synchronization of FXT and PAT are obtained. Second, some looser conditions are obtained for FXT synchronization, and several more accurate settling time (ST) estimates are established through several special functions. Third, by using some non-trivial control strategy, the PAT synchronization is investigated with limited control gains, and the synchronization time is able to specified in advance on the basis of practical need and is not relate to any parameter and any initial value. In particular, as a distinct form, the essential conditions for the FXT and PAT synchronization are obtained for the coupled neural networks. last, the improved the FXT and PAT synchronization results of dynamic delayed networks are demonstrated by one numerical example.
