Distributed predefined-time control for Hybrid AC/DC Microgrid

Due to the popularization of distributed generators (DGs) and diversity of loads, hybrid microgrid, mixing AC/DC subgrids, has gradually become a popular research topic. However, there is lack of research results to achieve the control objectives of precise AC/DC bus voltage/frequency restoration and global power sharing among DGs in hybrid microgrid within a predefined time. In this article, a distributed predefined-time controller (DPTC) is designed to achieve the above objectives with unknown load power by employing a classK1 function and defining a unified error. The convergence time of bus voltage and output power of converters can be adjusted by a predefined parameter. Moreover, a distributed predefined-time observer is proposed to rely less on direct load measurements and guarantee the controller implementation in emergencies when load information is unavailable. Through hardwarein-the-loop experiment tests, the effectiveness of the DPTC is verified in scenarios of load change and plug-and-play. Comparative experiment indicates that the proposed controller has the potential for convenient adjustment of convergence time and the advantage of small overshoot.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the problem of attitude control for a horizontal takeoff and horizontal landing reusable launch vehicle. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, a predefined-time attitude tracking controller is presented for a horizontal takeoff and horizontal landing reusable launch vehicle (HTHLRLV). Firstly, the attitude tracking error dynamics model of the HTHLRLV is developed. Subsequently, a novel sliding mode surface is designed with predefined-time stability. Furthermore, by using the proposed sliding mode surface, a predefined-time controller is derived. To compensate the external disturbances or model uncertainties, a fixed-time disturbance observer is developed, and its convergence time can be defined as a prior control parameter. Finally, the stability of the proposed sliding mode surface and the controller can be proved by the Lyapunov theory. Findings In contrast to other fixed-time methods, this controller only requires three control parameters, and the convergence time can be predefined instead of being estimated. The simulation results also demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. Originality/value A novel predefined-time attitude tracking controller is developed based on the predefined-time sliding mode surface (SMS) and fixed-time disturbance observer (FxTDO). The convergence time of the system can be selected as a prior control parameter for SMS and FxTDO.

An event-triggered practical predefined-time controller is constructed in this paper for a class of Euler-Lagrange systems under deception attacks. A novel speed function is introduced to reduce the computational complexity, while novel coordinate transformations are used to reduce the controller design complexity. Combining the novel speed function and barrier Lyapunov function, the closed-loop system converges to any desired neighborhood within the preset timeframe with excellent transient performance. Due to the presence of deception attacks, the Nussbaum gain method and fuzzy universal approximation are used to eliminate attack effects, while the event-triggered mechanism based on the relative threshold is introduced to reduce communication resources and the probability of being attacked. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed method is validated through a robotic arm simulation.

This brief focuses on the adaptive predefined-time backstepping control for Lu chaotic systems with an unknown parameter. Different from the existing research on convergencetime control for chaotic systems, based on the backstepping technique, an improved predefined-time stable lemma for strictfeedback systems is proposed, which can achieve precise control about convergence time. Moreover, a predefined-time control scheme is designed using the proposed lemma to suppress the chaotic phenomenon and stabilize the Lu chaotic systems with predefined time. And, a novel adaptive updating law is designed to make the derivative of Lyapunov function satisfy the predefined-time stable form. The stability analysis proves that the signals in the Lu chaotic system are predefined-time stable and the convergence time can be specified by the user. Finally, a simulation example is provided to prove the effectiveness of the presented predefined-time control scheme.

This article proposes a novel adaptive nonsingular predefined-time control strategy for rigid spacecrafts with inertia uncertainties. Following the backstepping recursive design procedures, an adaptive attitude controller is systematically presented to ensure that the spacecraft attitude can converge into a small region around the origin within a predefined time, which can be explicitly determined in advance by assigning a simple parameter. Moreover, by designing quadratic functions in the controllers, the singularity can be avoided directly without using any filters or piecewise continuous functions, such that the stability analysis becomes more concise and straightforward. Simulations are conducted to show the effectiveness of the presented method.

Dynamic event-triggered output feedback predefined-time control against deception attacks for Euler-Lagrange systems

This paper concerns the predefined-time control for a class of cyber-physical Euler-Lagrange systems under deception attacks. Firstly, a particular high-gain observer is constructed to achieve output feedback control so that the sensors do not need to measure all states. Due to the deception attacks on the sensors, only compromised outputs can be obtained for the observer. The cooperation of a novel speed function and barrier Lyapunov function guarantees the practical predefined-time convergence. Meanwhile, the Nussbaum gain method and fuzzy universal approximation compensate for the effects of attacks and estimation biases. Then, to solve the problem of limited communication resources in the networks, an improved dynamic event-triggered mechanism is introduced into the controller design to save more communication resources and lower the probability of being attacked than static ones. Compared to the existing results, the assumption of deception attack boundary is relaxed, allowing the controller to handle more cases of attacks. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed control approach is validated through robotic arm simulation results.

Event-Triggered predefined-time Consensus control of High-Order Multi-agent Systems Subject to Deception Attacks

Deceptive attacks compromise the availability of accurate system states, posing challenges for the design of adaptive controllers and nonlinear multi-agent systems. These attacks introduce significant control errors, making it difficult to achieve consensus among multiple agents while effectively addressing uncertainties. To address the challenge of the true system state being unavailable for controller design due to deceptive attacks, a predefined-time consensus control is proposed against deceptive attacks. A predefined-time state observer is developed to compensate for the effects of these attacks. The controller of each individual subsystem utilizes estimates from its own and neighboring estimators. Additionally, a corresponding reasonable adaptive law is designed post-attack. This research proposes a novel predefined-time method incorporating an acceleration term. By avoiding complex calculations such as exponential functions or trigonometric functions, the method simplifies computations and reduces computational resource requirements. Compared to commonly used functions, the inclusion of an acceleration term results in a theoretical upper bound of settling time that is less conservative. This approach utilizes a flexible formation task strategy based solely on neighborhood information, thereby improving tracking and coordination performance. It imposes fewer restrictions while reducing the need for information processing and exchange. The designed control protocol and event-triggered mechanism are fully distributed. Simulation results validate the compensation mechanism and predefined-time consensus control method can reduce control time costs and achieve a 25% reduction of estimation error compared to prescribed-time ones, and a 20% reduction of estimation error under deception attacks compared to traditional predefined-time ones.

This paper investigates the problem of predefined-time tracking control for a class of strict-feedback nonlinear systems with time-varying actuator failures and input delay. First, the input-delay problem is dealt with by Pad & eacute;approximation. Second, the radial-based neural network technique is used to deal with the uncertainties and unknown disturbances in the system, and then the dynamic surface combined with the command filtering technique effectively solves the "complexity explosion" problem in the design of the controller for the high-order system. In order to eliminate the filtering error and obtain more stable control performance, a novel predefined-time compensation mechanism for the filtering error is designed. Again, the impact of time-varying actuator failures on the system stability is efficiently handled by designing a reasonable predefined-time control strategy, so that the controlled system achieves tracking stability within a predefined time. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the predefined-time control strategy proposed in this paper are verified through numerical simulation and its comparative experiments.

This paper is concerned with the predefined-time tracking control problem for vehicular platoon systems composed of heterogeneous vehicles with arbitrary initial states under the influence of nonlinear disturbances. To counteract the influence of system uncertainties and disturbances, a practical predefined-time disturbance observer (PTDO) is constructed for lumped disturbance compensation in the closed-loop system. Meanwhile, a predefined-time control scheme is developed incorporating a predefined-time performance function (PTPF) and a composite error transformation mechanism to ensure that the position and velocity errors of the vehicle platoon system are constrained within a predetermined accuracy within a predefined time frame. The proposed approach eliminates reliance on initial conditions inherent to conventional prescribed performance control methods while demonstrating adaptability to diverse application scenarios. The efficacy and practicality of the developed control protocol are substantiated through rigorous theoretical analysis and numerical simulations.

predefined-time Fuzzy control for Robotic Manipulators Driven by Compliant Actuators

Considering that the compliant actuator is significant for safe human-robot interaction and the existing studies for compliant actuator can only guarantee the infinite-time stability of systems, a predefined-time control is considered for robotic manipulators with unknown compliant actuators in this article. To deal with unknown nonlinear dynamics of the compliant actuators, fuzzy logic systems are first adopted to model them. Then, by applying an adaptive fuzzy control method, new controllers and parameter adaptive laws are designed. For the purpose of predefined-time stability for robotic manipulators, a novel inequality is established in Lemma 6. Under the proposed control scheme and Lemma 6, the predefined-time stability of the robotic manipulators is guaranteed. Compared with the existing studies for robotic manipulators with compliant actuators, the stability time can be set in advance according to an actual requirement in this study, which is more interesting in practical engineering.
