This paper describes the use of pseudo-partial derivative (PPD) to dynamically linearize a nonlinear system, and aggregation is applied to the predicted PPD, resulting in a model-free adaptive predictivecontrol algorithm for a nonlinear system. The algorithm design is only based on the PPD derived online from the input/output data of the controlled process, however it does provide bounded input/output sequence and setpoint tracking without steady-state error. A detailed discussion on parameter selection is also provided. To show the capability of the algorithm, simulations of a time-delay plant and a pH neutralization process show that the proposed method is effective for system parameter perturbation and external disturbance rejection. predictive functional control (PFC) as a new AQM strategy for dynamically varying TCP/AQM networks is introduced. The inherent ability of dealing with system transmission delay makes PFC applicable for congestion control in computer networks and simple structure and algebraic control law of PFC make it more efficient then other model predictivecontrol (MPC.) schemes. The model used here is the fluid-flow model developed by Towsley et al. Simulation results are presented to compare the out-performance of the proposed method with respect to those of PI and RED controllers as the most commonly employed AQM controllers. Besides, an indirect self tuning adaptive PFC scheme has been designed in order for achieving better queue regulation capability of the controller for both unknown and time-varying network parameters and traffic as well as in presence of unresponsive flows.

CSTR is a nonlinear chemical reactor widely used in chemical industry and can be simplified as an affine nonlinear system. Hopfield network is a neural network with rich dynamic characteristics. In this paper, affine nonlinear system is treated as black box, and is identified with Hopfield network. After obtaining the relative degree of the nonlinear system from the network, state feedback linearization method is used to transform CSTR to a one-order linear system. The state variables and Lie derivatives needed in the transform can be obtained from the Hopfield network. Finally, a PFC controller is designed to control the linear system. Simulations prove that the new method has good control performance.

Networked control system (NCS) is a kind of closed loop control systems where the sensors, the controller and the actuators exchange data through network. Because the networks, in which the band width is limited, are introduced in the systems, some new issues appear unavoidably. At present, the research of networked control system becomes a focus area in control engineering. According to the characteristics of NCS, incremental predictive functional control (IPFC) strategy with random long time delay in NCS is proposed in this paper. Based on the strategy proposed controller design is given, which realized the compensation of NCS time delay. Simulation experiments are carried out, and simulation results confirmed that perfect compensation effect is obtained in the long time delay NCS with the control strategy proposed in this paper.

predictive functional control (PFC), belonging to the family of predictivecontrol techniques, has been demonstrated as a powerful algorithm for controlling process plants. The input/output PFC formulation has been a particularly attractive paradigm for industrial processes, with a combination of simplicity and effectiveness. Though its use of a lag plus delay ARX/ARMAX model is justified in many applications, there exists a range of process types which may present difficulties, leading to chattering and/or instability. In this paper, instability of first order PFC is addressed, and solutions to handle higher order and difficult systems are proposed. The input/output PFC formulation is extended to cover the cases of internal models with zero and/or higher order pole dynamics in an ARX/ARMAX form, via a parallel and cascaded model decomposition. Finally, a generic form of PFC, based on elementary outputs, is proposed to handle a wider range of higher order oscillatory and non-minimum phase systems. The range of solutions presented are supported by appropriate examples.

The random delays in a networked control system (NCS) degrade control performance and can even destabilize the control *** deal with this problem,the time-stamped predictive functional control (PFC) algorithm is proposed,which generalizes the standard PFC algorithm to networked control systems with random *** algorithm uses the time-stamp method to estimate the control delay,predicts the future outputs based on a discrete time delay state space model,and drives the control law that applies to an NCS from the idea of a PFC algorithm.A networked control system was constructed based on TrueTime simulator,with which the time-stamped PFC algorithm was compared with the standard PFC *** response curves show that the proposed algorithm has better control performance.

This paper employs a concept of partial derivative called Pseudo-Partial-Derivative (PPD) to dynamically linearize nonlinear system, and the aggregation method is applied to deal with the future predictive PPD, then adaptive predictive functional control algorithm of nonlinear system is presented. The design demands low requirement for the model, which is based directly on PPD derived online from the input output data, and the given algorithm can also provide the bounded input output sequence and track setpoint without steady-state error. Simulations for the time-delay process and the pH neutralization experiment of the chemical reaction process show that the proposed method is efficient for the system parameters perturbation and external disturbance.
