We investigate the problem of optimal storage control for the purpose of jointly reducing the volumetric energy charge and a whole-period relevant demand charge. We systematically investigate the structure of the optimal solution set of this storage control problem, and we for the first time establish the equivalence among the optimal solutions of the original stochastic control problem, a corresponding stochastic programming problem and its deterministic counterpart, which greatly simplifies the process of finding optimal solutions for the original problem. Based on the equivalence among different problems, we propose an algorithm to obtain an optimal solution of the stochastic controlprogram which merely needs offline information. We validate our approach by testing on over PG&E residential customers' data and show substantial cost reduction under the tariff with both energy charge and demand charge.

The host plants of native Ceutorhynchus Germar (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species are poorly known in North America, and knowledge of these is essential for biological controlprogrammes involving this genus of weevils. We hypothesised that weevil larva emergence holes on plant specimens in herbarium collections might reveal potential plant-insect associations, and help locate populations of hosts for non-target testing. We examined 1114 plant specimens in 16 genera and 60 species of Brassicaceae and found 70 specimens among 30 species that showed evidence of feeding injury and exit holes typical of Ceutorhynchus. We used this information to locate populations of two species of Ceutorhynchus. Herbarium collections may be useful tools for developing knowledge of host plant associations for species of Ceutorhynchus.

In this paper a modification of the dynamic input-output model for a multicommodity economy is considered. This model allows to simulate the mutual influence of the production sphere and the sphere of consumption. The main goal of the research is to develop a theoretical basis for preparation of management and administrative decisions in the planning and implementation of investment programs. It is assumed that the source of the investment can be either the net operating surplus of the economy sectors and external financial resources. In this case, the mathematical model of the input-output model is a controlled system of linear differential equations. To solve this problem we use the algorithms of mathematical control theory. Since in practice the investment process is always discrete in time, then for its quantitative modeling is necessary to solve the construction problem of an impulse program control. In this work the algorithm for constructing the impulse program control is proposed. The results of research are tested on data of Federal State Statistics Service.
