Critical heat flux (CHF) has traditionally been evaluated using look-up tables or empirical correlations for nuclear power plants. However, under complex moving condition, it is necessary to reconsider the CHF characteristics since the conventional CHF prediction methods would no longer be applicable. In this paper, the additional forces caused by motions have been added to the annular film dryout (AFD) mechanistic model to investigate the effect of moving condition on CHF. Moreover, a theoretical model of the natural circulation loop with additional forces is established to reflect the natural circulation characteristics of the loop system. By coupling the system loop with the AFD mechanistic model, a CHF prediction program called NACOM for natural circulation loop under moving condition is developed. The effects of three operating conditions, namely stationary, inclination and rolling, on the CHF of the loop are then analyzed. It can be clearly seen that the moving condition has an adverse effect on the CHF in the natural circulation system. For the calculation parameters in this paper, the CHF can be reduced by 25% compared with the static value, which indicates that it is important to consider the effects of moving condition to retain adequate safety margin in subsequent thermal-hydraulic designs. Military toxicology evolved from needs identified during the World Wars. The Army, Navy and Air Force developed toxicological capabilities in response to their respective operational needs. These 3 previously separate military toxicology efforts have been integrated into Tri-Service Toxicology in response to the continually changing and growing operational needs of the military. The continual process of program development must be initiated in order for Tri-Service Toxicology to improve, grow and better serve its customers. program development entails developing and maintaining good customer relationships and cooperative relationships with other governmental agencies, industry and academia. The benefits of identifying and obtaining customers and collaborators will substantially outweigh the costs incurred by committing to the implementation of program development within Tri-Service Toxicology.

Increasingly, nurses are serving as consultants in designing programs to improve the health of individuals in developing countries. In order to be effective, such programs must reflect the socio-cultural context in which identified health problems occur. This can become problematic when nurses work as consultants in cultures with which they are unfamiliar. This paper proposes the use of the World Health Organization's risk strategy approach as a conceptual framework for developing culture specific programs in maternal-infant health. Suggested consultant role behaviors are articulated with this approach and the various phases of program development using an ongoing project in Juarez, Mexico to which the author has provided nursing consultation as a concrete example.

Amid rising trends in opioid use, hospitalizations for health conditions secondary to intravenous drug use are becoming more common. Such patients often require prolonged hospitalizations and frequently present with substance use histories, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, and unique behavioral health needs. These issues can adversely impact completion of medical treatment and place added burden on hospital staff. There is a growing need for medical institutions to develop policies and procedures which address the specific emotional, behavioral, and substance use needs of this patient population. Because guidelines for doing so are sparse in the literature, this study outlines the University of Vermont Medical Center's process of developing an in-hospital care agreement intended to (1) increase patient access to in-hospital need assessments, psychotherapy, and medication for opioid use disorders, (2) increase referrals for opioid use treatment beyond hospitalization, (3) standardize staff response to common challenging behaviors, and (4) provide staff with education and support for interacting with patients in effective ways. The multidisciplinary process of developing this care agreement, its specific details, lessons learned, and anticipated future directions are also discussed.

We present a domain-specific problem solving model to facilitate the study of programming. Specifically, we address how problem solving and programming can be closely integrated and taught to beginning students and what are the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance students' ability to become effective problem solvers and programmers. To accomplish this, we synthesized a common model for problem solving, based on a review of existing methodologies, that integrates the tasks of program development, and elaborates the required cognitive knowledge and skills. The common model explicitly encourages students to adhere to a well-specified six-stage process of formulating the problem, planning, designing, translating, testing, and delivering the solution.

Underground TWH caverns in salt rock have high construction efficiency and large usable volumes and provides an ideal space for large-scale natural gas storage. In this study, the solution mining process of TWH cavern is thoroughly analyzed. Applying basic principles of the Navier-Stokes equation method and reasonable assumptions, we established a new 3D mathematical model which includes flow and mass transfer and boundary movement for TWH salt cavern construction. Then, the velocity field and the concentration field can be solved by the SIMPLE algorithm, while the boundary movement of cavern expansion can be solved by the VOF algorithm. We developed a new VC + + computer code program TWHSMC for solution mining and herein we present the numerical results. Finally, the simulation cavern shapes results by program are compared with the experimental ones. The results indicate that our model successfully and accurately predicts the cavern shape and demonstrates the reliability and applicability of the model.
