Recognizing the nutrition problems among Filipino school children, this study was undertaken to assess the nutritional status of Philippine Normal University(PNU) pre-service teachers and basic education students with the aim of creating a university nutrition program. Respondents were grades 1 to 10 pupils of the Institute of Teaching and Learning(ITL), and 15% of the college population. The method includes administration of survey instruments, conduct of interviews with respondents and the involvement of medical practitioners as regards the determination of health status through Body Mass Index(BMI). Data were collected including their BMI, eating patterns, eating habits, and nutrition knowledge. Results revealed the following information;the BMI shows that 43% of the grade school respondents and 60% of the college respondents are of normal weight. There is preponderance of overweight to obesity among pupils, while 30% among college respondents weigh below normal to severe thinness. The results further revealed that lunch is the most regularly taken meal. Food consumption is below the required serving set by the National Nutrition Council of the Philippines and the World Health Organization(WHO). The respondents scored moderate to high in the nutrition knowledge survey. Recommendations include the launching of a breakfast program, "no junk food" policy, and the distribution of nutrition tips to parents.

For any business or organization to endure and compete with other businesses, they need to invest in what is called “Information Technology”, which guarantees data availability, integrity, and confidentiality. However, with the increase of internal and peripheral threats, the IT system of a business could be exposed to potential risks. This is the main reasons for choosing the importance of providing security and risk management for sustainable businesses organization. In this paper it will provide some security measure and risk management procedures in order to prevent the organization from the many attacks, it is essential for the information security manager to have a broad knowledge about the current and upcoming technology, system and risk are available in the local domain.

Given trends in pharmacy practice advancement, additional residency training positions are needed to meet future workforce development goals. Although there has been aggressive growth in the number of pharmacy residency training programs over the past decade, a shortage in the number of available residency positions persists. As such, residency expansion initiatives across the profession are ongoing. To describe a university-led initiative to expand pharmacy residency program development statewide, programmatic outcomes associated with implementation, and key elements of success. Health systems interested in residency program development were invited to participate in a university-led initiative that included an online residency resource repository, preceptor interest inventory, monthly video calls, collaboratively established goals and deadlines, and preceptor development. Health system participation rates, utilization of resources, and programmatic outcomes such as number of new residency programs and positions were tracked over time. Over a 3-year period, six health systems participated in the initiative, yielding four new postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) programs and eight new PGY1 positions. Five of six health systems utilized the online resources and participated in the monthly video calls. Four of the six health systems accessed the preceptor development materials. A University-led initiative is an effective method for developing new residency training programs. Widescale efforts to implement models such as this one, could prove beneficial in addressing the nationwide shortage of residency programs.

Health policies and programs are increasingly being driven by people from the community to more effectively address their needs. While a large body of evidence supports peer engagement in the context of policy and program development for various populations, little is known about this form of engagement among people who use drugs (PWUD). Therefore, a narrative literature review was undertaken to provide an overview of this topic. Searches of PubMed and Academic Search Premier databases covering 1995-2010 were conducted to identify articles assessing peer engagement in policy and program development. In total, 19 articles were included for review. Our findings indicate that PWUD face many challenges that restrict their ability to engage with public health professionals and policy makers, including the high levels of stigma and discrimination that persist among this population. Although the literature shows that many international organizations are recommending the involvement of PWUD in policy and program development, our findings revealed a lack of published data on the implementation of these efforts. Gaps in the current evidence highlight the need for additional research to explore and document the engagement of PWUD in the areas of policy and program development. Further, efforts to minimize stigmatizing barriers associated with illicit drug use are urgently needed to improve the engagement of PWUD in decision making processes.

Purpose: To adapt the Merging Yoga and Occupational Therapy program and develop the Merging Yoga and Occupational Therapy for Parkinson's disease (MY-OT for PD) program, designed to target fall risk management. Creating a new program involved the targeted development of Stage 1 manuals. Methods: Researchers employed a pragmatic qualitative design to focus on meeting the purpose of the study. Stage 1 manuals were created following a literature review, a focus group of participants with PD, and individual interviews with experts in practice or research. Visual familiarization with data, generation of conclusions, and results verification were used to translate participant feedback into manual revisions. Results: Themes included revisions to model, content, and delivery. Revisions were incorporated into Stage 1 manuals to create a PD-specific program to improve fall risk management. Conclusion: A structured process is necessary to create Stage 1 manuals in a novel population prior to feasibility and pilot testing.

In this paper issues on sexuality and mental handicap are reviewed, and recognition of the growing importance of sex education to integration is noted. The development of a sex education programme and staff training provided within a service organisation, with some involvement from other services within an Irish setting, are described, and their evaluation is reported. Attitudes towards involvement prove of particular interest, and factors influencing continuation or discontinuation are identified. The need for attitude change among staff and administration towards the priority given lo sex education is highlighted, and a need for structural change in staffing arrangements to facilitate such education is indicated. Failure to recognise sexuality as a research issue in evaluating the success of integration efforts is noted, and such research is recommended as a top priority for the future.

This bibliography lists references to cover 300 randomized field experiments undertaken in schools, hospitals, prisons, and other social settings. The list is divided into 10 major categories corresponding to the type of program under examination. They include: criminal and civil justice programs, mental health, training and education, mass media, information collection, utilization, commerce and industry, welfare, health, and family planning. The main purpose of the bibliography is to provide evidence on feasibility and scope of randomized field tests, since despite their advantages, it is not always clearfrom managerial, political, and other constraints on research that they can be mounted.

Introduction: A need for innovative public health programs is evident as the field adapts to address changes in health priorities and target populations. The Innovative Teen Pregnancy Prevention program (iTP(3)) was created to support and enable innovation in teenage pregnancy prevention, developing programs to reach the most at risk youth. Methods: A formative evaluation was conducted to understand what innovation means in the context of program development, and examine the process of innovation. Qualitative data was collected through baseline interviews with program development teams, referred to as Innovators, prior to the start of the project period and follow-up interviews conducted at the end of a 12-month funding period. Additional open-ended written responses were collected in the middle of the funding cycle. A thematic analysis with an open-coding scheme was used to identify emergent themes. Results: Innovators considered programs innovative because of the target population of focus, program delivery mechanism, and/or program development approach. They specifically identified that a "culture" of innovation must be present if new programs are to be developed. Over time, Innovators began to shift their definition of innovation toward unique design processes and ecological approaches. Discussion: Through creating a culture of innovation and utilizing systems thinking, this project provides important insights in how to develop innovations in public health.
