This article examines program development in teacher education, with an emphasis on how teacher educators pursue coherence. The analysis contributes to existing literature by investigating how coherence is pursued as part of program development and by analytically situating coherence as an emergent achievement that requires the alignment of program design with institutional practices. The empirical data derive from four Norwegian teacher education institutions that were redesigning their programs in response to expectations of increased program coherence. Cultural historical theory and the concept of institutional coherence are used to examine how coherence is pursued at the intersection of institutional practices and emergent developmental processes. The findings highlight how institutional practices inform program development, requiring program leaders to navigate complex organisational, epistemic and political landscapes in their efforts toward coherence. Implications for the conceptualisation of coherence and for program leadership in teacher education are discussed.

Sexual violence is a growing public health problem, and there is an urgent need to develop sexual violence prevention programs. Logic models have emerged as a vital tool in program development. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded an empowerment evaluation designed to work with programs focused on the prevention of first-time male perpetration of sexual violence, and it included as one of its goals, the development of program logic models. Two case studies are presented that describe how significant positive changes can be made to programs as a result of their developing logic models that accurately describe desired outcomes. The first case study describes how the logic model development process made an organization aware of the importance of a program's environmental context for program success;the second case study demonstrates how developing a program logic model can elucidate gaps in organizational programming and suggest ways to close those gaps.

Objective:Despite the known benefits of integrated primary care and behavioral health services,integrated behavioral health services have not been readily used in medical clinics in interior *** minimal resources,we recently developed an integrated primary care-behavioral health program in a medical clinic in interior Alaska to meet clinic and community *** objective of this study was to explore initial program outcomes and determine the feasibility of program development and ***:We initially conducted a needs assessment for integrating behavioral health services into primary *** development was informed by specific clinic *** program implementation,initial program outcomes were tracked with use of data from the electronic health record and patient and provider use and satisfaction *** level of integration of primary care and behavioral health services was evaluated with the Practice Integration ***:A total of 188 patients were seen by behavioral health consultants during the initial pilot phase,including 44.0%referred for mental health symptoms,33.1%referred for physical health issues,and 22.3%referred for both mental and physical health *** initial program outcomes indicate modest clinical improvement(measured by the nine-item Patient Health Questionnaire)as well as patient and provider satisfaction with the model,and a moderate level of practice ***:On the basis of the initial findings,it appears that our integrated primary care-behavioral health program has the potential to serve an important role in addressing the behavioral health needs of the local *** implementation procedure and initial program outcomes suggest that such models are feasible in rural and small-scale settings with minimal overhead costs.

This article presents the common components approach as comparatively efficient, heuristic tool for deciding what content to include in a new program on the basis of current manualized evidence-based programs, alongside theory, basic research findings, and professional judgment. A case study of how this approach was used to develop a universal parenting program for U.S. military and civilian parents of infants (birth to 12 months) is presented. Lessons learned in applying a common components methodology to program development and implications for others who are interested in using the approach in their program work are also discussed.

The aircraft manufacturers are constantly driving to reduce manufacturing lead times and cost at the same time as the product complexity increases and technology continues to change. As avionics systems have evolved, particularly over the past two or three decades, the level of functional integration has increased dramatically. Integrated modular avionics (IMA) is a solution that allows the aviation industry to manage their avionics complexity. IMA defines an integrated system architecture that preserves the fault containment and `separation of concerns' properties of the federated architectures, where independent functional chains share a common computing resource. In software side, the air transport industry has developed ARINC 653 specification as a standardized real time operating system (RTOS) interface definition for IMA. It allows hosting multiple applications of different software levels with partitions on the same hardware in the context of IMA architecture. The primary components of the ARINC 653 are core and applications software. This paper describes a study that assessed the feasibility of developing an ARINC 653 based operational flight program (OFP) prototype and will provide valuable lessons learned through OFP development. The OFP architecture consists of two distinct modules: a core that interfaces and monitors the hardware and provides a standard and common environment for software applications; and an application module that performs the avionics functions. The prototype OFP is being integrated with the FA-50 simulator at the avionics laboratory of Korea Aerospace Industries.
