Accompanied with a series changes in RoboCup 3D simulation condition, the competition environment has become much more sophisticated than before, which contributes to a complicated program structure. In this paper, an architecture which formed by four layers is introduced in the build of RoboCup 3D Client program considering the configuration of RoboCup 3D system and the architecture of agent. The features and relationship among those layers are expounded and demonstrated in graph.

This paper presents the architecture Framework for Product Family Master Plan. This framework supports the identification of a program architecture (the way cost competitive variance is provided for a full range of products) for a product program for product-based companies during the early stages of a product development project. The framework consists of three basic aspects: the market, product program, production and a time aspect-captured in the multi-level roadmap. One of the unique features is that these aspects are linked, allowing for an early clarification of critical issues through a structured process. The framework enables companies to identify a program architecture as the basis for improving time-to-market and R&D efficiency for products derived from the architecture. Case studies show that significant reductions of development lead time up to 50% is possible. Significance: Many companies are front-loading different activities when designing new product programs. This paper suggests an operational framework for identifying a program architecture during the early development phases, to enable a significantly improved ability to launch new competitive products with fewer resources.

ThermoData Engine (TDE): Software Implementation of the Dynamic Data Evaluation Concept. 9. Extensible Thermodynamic Constraints for Pure Compounds and New Model Developments

ThermoData Engine (TDE) is the first full-scale software implementation of the dynamic data evaluation concept, as reported in this journal. The present article describes the background and implementation for new additions in latest release of TDE. Advances are in the areas of program architecture and quality improvement for automatic property evaluations, particularly for pure compounds. It is shown that selection of appropriate program architecture supports improvement of the quality of the on-demand property evaluations through application of a readily extensible collection of constraints. The basis and implementation for other enhancements to TDE are described briefly. Other enhancements include the following: (1) implementation of model-validity enforcement for specific equations that can provide unphysical results if unconstrained, (2) newly refined group-contribution parameters for estimation of enthalpies of formation for pure compounds containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, (3) implementation of an enhanced group-contribution method (NIST-Modified UNIFAC) in TDE for improved estimation of phase-equilibrium properties for binary mixtures, (4) tools for mutual validation of ideal-gas properties derived through statistical calculations and those derived independently through combination of experimental thermodynamic results, (5) improvements in program reliability and function that stem directly from the recent redesign of the TRC-SOURCE Data Archival System for experimental property values, and (6) implementation of the Peng-Robinson equation of state for binary mixtures, which allows for critical evaluation of mixtures involving supercritical components. Planned future developments are summarized.

Incremental change in object-oriented programming

Incremental changes add new functionality and new properties to software. They are the basis of software maintenance, evolution, incremental development, agile development, and other important software engineering processes. This article presents selected incremental change activities-change request, concept extraction, concept location, impact analysis, actualization, incorporation, change propagation, refactoring, and role splitting-in which programming concepts and program dependencies play a key role. The authors provide an example that illustrates an incremental change in the open source software Drawlets.

An interesting and little documented problem is the influence of a design methodology on the program architecture. In this case study, we compared two design methodologies and their impact on both development process and the resulting program architecture. The methodologies are object-based variants of refinement methodology and structured design, respectively. Both methodologies were applied to the same problem (a library system of less than 1000 lines of Ada code), and the results were compared. Substantial differences between the two resulting architectures are analysed and discussed.

A new form of parallelism, distributed bit-parallelism, is introduced. A DBP organization distributes each bit of a data item to a different processor. DBP allows computation that is sublinear with word size for such operations as integer addition, arithmetic shifts, and data moves. The implications of DBP for system architecture are analyzed. An implementation of a DPB architecture based on a mesh with a fast-bypass network is presented, and the performance of DBP algorithms on this architecture is analyzed. The application of the architecture to early vision algorithms is discussed.

Real-time simulation of ship impact for crew training

Real-time simulation of marine accidents and representation in a realistic, virtual environment may be an efficient way to train emergency procedures for ship's crews and thus improve safety at sea. However, although various fast, simplified methods have been presented over the past decades, the real-time simulation of ship grounding and collision events poses a number of challenges. This paper presents a set of theoretical models and methods by which it is relatively easy to implement collision and grounding modeling capabilities in existing, real-time marine simulators. Most notably, the paper contains methods for fast prediction of collision and grounding motion and a method that transforms any motion into a set of forces. The latter method allows that the grounding and collision impact modules interact with the simulation software only through specification of external forces on the hull. The efficiency of the developed procedures is demonstrated by three examples: ship berthing (impact with quay), ship grounding on a pinnacle rock, and ship-to-ship collision. Although the paper specifically addresses ship impact problems, it is believed that a part of the presented methods would be advantageous to use in other types of time simulation where it is desirable to switch between direct time integration and some other known, stabilized solution, without a major redesign of the program architecture.

With the growing complexity of software applications and increasing reliance on the services provided by these applications, architecture-based reliability analysis has become the focus of several recent research efforts. Most of the prevalent research in this area does not consider simultaneous or concurrent execution of application components. Concurrency, however, may be common in modern software applications. Thus, reliability analysis considering concurrent component execution within the context of the application architecture is necessary for contemporary software applications. This paper presents an architecture-based reliability analysis methodology for concurrent software applications. Central to the methodology is a state space approach, based on discrete time Markov chains (DTMCs), to represent the application architecture taking into consideration simultaneous component execution. A closed form, analytical expression for the expected application reliability based on the average execution times, constant failure rates, and the average number of visits to the components is derived. The average number of visits to application components are obtained from the solution of the DTMC model representing the application architecture. The potential of the methodology to facilitate sensitivity analysis, identification of reliability bottlenecks, and an assessment of the impact of workload and component changes, in addition to providing a reliability estimate, is discussed. To enable the application of the methodology in practice, estimation of model parameters from different software artifacts is described. The methodology is illustrated with a case study. Finally, strategies to alleviate the state space explosion issue for an efficient application of the methodology are proposed.

At present, the tightly coupled hard coding integration solution cannot meet the e-Government system requirements of interaction and silent functionality upgrade. Through improving the techniques of Web Services, around the core techniques of e-Government application integration, this paper proposes a new Web Service application architecture with the characteristics of high availability and silent functionality upgrade. The new architecture is compared with the traditional architectures to show its advantages.
