Underground TWH caverns in salt rock have high construction efficiency and large usable volumes and provides an ideal space for large-scale natural gas storage. In this study, the solution mining process of TWH cavern is thoroughly analyzed. Applying basic principles of the Navier-Stokes equation method and reasonable assumptions, we established a new 3D mathematical model which includes flow and mass transfer and boundary movement for TWH salt cavern construction. Then, the velocity field and the concentration field can be solved by the SIMPLE algorithm, while the boundary movement of cavern expansion can be solved by the VOF algorithm. We developed a new VC + + computer code program TWHSMC for solution mining and herein we present the numerical results. Finally, the simulation cavern shapes results by program are compared with the experimental ones. The results indicate that our model successfully and accurately predicts the cavern shape and demonstrates the reliability and applicability of the model.

The McKinleyville Family Resource Center (MFRC) is in need of a casemanagement revision plan that entails program development. The MFRC receives case referrals from Child Welfare Services (CWS) through the Differential Response system. Differential response (DR) is a method used by CWS to implement early intervention forfamilies. DR is defined as ???developing a broader set of responses to reports of possiblechild abuse or neglect, including prevention and early intervention, engaging families to address issues of safety and risk, and improving access to services, including allowing voluntary access by families.??? (Differential Response, 2013, n.p). DR referrals are outsourced by CWS into community based agencies such as Family Resource *** purpose of this project is to develop a case management manual to guide MFRC caseworkers through the DR process. This will foster a cohesive case management team, and help the MFRC develop early intervention methods. This project uses secondary data developed by Strategies and Matrix Outcomes Model through Family developmentMatrix Pathways Project, (2011) to build on the case management manual. This program development will entail developing a revised case management program ***, this case management system needs to be developed further to establish consistency and enhance service at MFRC through DR referral processes to engage families to make a meaningful and enduring change

The essential components of an effective program development environment are described. These assist in the interactive investigation of program behaviour and accelerate the rate at which programs are modified. The whole system is compact and simple, being designed for use on small machines. It is considered as important to understand how to use these tools as it is to provide them.

Objectives: To develop an educational program designed to train health care providers in resource limited settings to carry out neonatal resuscitation. We analyzed facilitator and learner perceptions about the course, examined skill performance, and assessed the quality of instruments used for learner evaluation as part of the formative evaluation of the educational program Helping Babies Breathe. Methods: Multiple stakeholders and a Delphi panel contributed to program development. Training of facilitators and learners occurred in global field test sites. Course evaluations and focus groups provided data on facilitator and learner perceptions. Knowledge and skill assessments included pre/post scores from multiple choice questions (MCQ) and post-training assessment of bag and mask skills, as well as 2 objective structured clinical evaluations (OSCE). Results: Two sites (Kenya and Pakistan) trained 31 facilitators and 102 learners. Participants expressed high satisfaction with the program and high self-efficacy with respect to neonatal resuscitation. Assessment of participant knowledge and skills pre/post-program demonstrated significant gains;however, the majority of participants could not demonstrate mastery of bag and mask ventilation on the post-training assessment without additional practice. Conclusions: Participants in a program for neonatal resuscitation in resource-limited settings demonstrated high satisfaction, high self-efficacy and gains in knowledge and skills. Mastery of ventilation skills and integration of skills into case management may not be achievable in the classroom setting without additional practice, continued learning, and active mentoring in the workplace. These findings were used to revise program structure, materials and assessment tools. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.

Background. Occupational therapists value the principles of health and health care equity and often face challenges addressing inequities within the systems in which they work. Purpose. We present the Equity Lens for Occupational Therapy (ELOT), a framework to provide a practical starting point for reflecting on equity issues and the ways inequities are enacted in daily practice. Key Issues. Building on an existing occupational therapy practice model and well-established program development and evaluation processes, we overlay an equity lens. The lens provides a structured way to critically reflect on occupational therapy programs within their contexts and develop action strategies to prevent or redress inequities. Implications. Taking action on the multiple ways that inequities can be embedded in occupational therapy programs within health and social systems can be a daunting task. The ELOT provides a systematic way to stimulate critical reflection and dialogue, examine practice, focus social advocacy, and take action.

The U.S. National Science Foundation has conducted a Dynamics of Coupled Natural and Human Systems competition since 2001 to support research that examines processes functioning within relevant natural systems and human systems as well as the ways that natural system processes affect human systems and human systems affect natural system dynamics. Among keys to this program's success have been its provision of a stable target for researchers while remaining open to new approaches and ideas, and its attention to challenges associated with its distinctive position in the NSF administrative structure.

To estimate the cost of developing a system and to increase programmer efficiency, the factors affecting program development effort and programmer productivity need to be identified. However, the results of previous studies are questionable due to methodological flaws or failure to base them on established theory. Therefore, a filed study was conducted to assess the feasibility of conducting controlled studies of the programming process. COBOL programs from 3 commercial organizations were used to investigate the effects of programming style and programmer skill on the effort required to develop programs and on programming productivity. Using program size as a control variable, results support the idea that using disciplined approaches and well-defined variables leads to more readily interpretable and more conclusive results. However, the study did not control for such factors as quality of the design specifications and the systems support available to programmers during development.

Background: The vital role of evaluation as integral to program planning and program development is well supported in the literature, yet we find little evidence of this in health promotion practice. Evaluation is often a requirement for organisations supported by public funds, and is duly undertaken, however the quality, comprehensiveness and use of evaluation findings are lacking. Practitioner peer-reviewed publications presenting evaluation work are also limited. There are few published examples where evaluation is conducted as part of a comprehensive program planning process or where evaluation findings are used for program development in order to improve health promotion practice. Discussion: For even the smallest of programs, there is a diverse array of evaluation that is possible before, during and after program implementation. Some types of evaluation are less prevalent than others. Data that are easy to collect or that are required for compliance purposes are common. Data related to how and why programs work which could be used to refine and improve programs are less commonly collected. This finding is evident despite numerous resources and frameworks for practitioners on how to conduct effective evaluation and increasing pressure from funders to provide evidence of program effectiveness. We identify several organisational, evaluation capacity and knowledge translation factors which contribute to the limited collection of some types of data. In addition, we offer strategies for improving health promotion program evaluation and we identify collaboration of a range of stakeholders as a critical enabler for improved program evaluation. Summary: Evaluation of health promotion programs does occur and resources for how to conduct evaluation are readily available to practitioners. For the purposes of program development, multi-level strategies involving multiple stakeholders are required to address the organisational, capacity and translational factors that affect

In this article an agenda is discussed for further research, services, and program development identified in the development of the Life Course Model Web site for individuals with spina bifida, their families and the health care providers who work with them. The gaps identified during development of the Life Course Model Web site revealed that there has been minimal progress made on the research agenda since the 2003 consensus document, "Evidence-Based Practice in Spina Bifida: Developing a Research Agenda" or the summary document from the First World Congress on Spina Bifida Research and Care gathering, "The Future is Now," in 2009. Gaps are delineated in the three main areas of the transition curriculum (self-management/health, personal and social relationships, and employment/income support), and recommendations for future research and program development are proposed.
