Both adult and juvenile justice agencies seek to offer quality programs, but implementing a new program can be a difficult and daunting task. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the issues and concerns faced by one jurisdiction as a result of attempting to implement a new curfew check program. The goal is to share specific issues with general underlying solutions that may be utilized in other jurisdictions. An examination of the records of 79 juvenile offenders assigned to the program provides the information for this discussion. Results indicate that some basic assumptions of the program designers were incorrect, and that constant monitoring and the centralization of tasks were keys to program sustainability.

Schools are turning to research-based social emotional learning (SEL) practices to improve student achievement and school progress. Research to support SEL implementation, however, has lagged behind outcomes-based evaluations, often resulting in poor SEL program quality and fidelity. This mixed methods study explores SEL implementation at a high-needs high school to determine the extent the program's implementation adhered to the identified model. The findings indicate the study school only minimally implemented the evidence-based model due to barriers also cited in peer-reviewed research and, therefore, the evidence-based program was not implemented as intended. This study validates the need for research to shift attention from efficacious outcomes-based studies toward establishing best implementation practices to ensure interventions are transferred and implemented with fidelity. Doing so should strengthen adherence to evidence-based models, improve the overall quality of SEL program implementation, and increase the likelihood of achieving the desired outcomes attributed to SEL program *** StatementCurrently the lack of evidence-based SEL implementation practices places schools interested in SEL at risk of poor program implementation in their unique settings. The findings in this study indicate there is a need to develop evidence-based SEL program implementation practices to support implementation in a context-specific manner that produces the desired outcomes, particularly in schools serving diverse student populations focused on closing race and income-based achievement gaps.

The Colombia Inteligente (Smart Colombia) Initiative is a non-governmental program whose objective is to establish different strategies for a successful implementation of smart grid technology in a Colombia. The program started in November 2009 and has developed a conceptual basis for the next years to come. A critical factor in the success of the Colombia Inteligente program is to identify the drivers for smart grid implementation based on the country needs and expectations. Environmental concerns, increasing electricity consumption, security of energy supply, aging infrastructure and significant advances in communication and information technologies have been identified as major drivers for smart grid deployments worldwide. Some of these drivers might not be the focal aspects for smart grid in developing countries. This paper introduces how the Smart Colombia Initiative is conceptualized and analyses different drivers that provide opportunities for its implementation.

Background: Nutrition incentive (NI) programs help low-income households better afford fruits and vegetables (FVs) by providing incentives to spend on FVs (e.g., spend $10 to receive an additional $10 for FVs). NI programs are heterogeneous in programmatic imple-mentation and operate in food retail outlets, including brick-and-mortar and farm-direct ***: This study aimed to explore NI program implementation factors and the amount of incentives ***: A total of 28 NI projects across the United States including 487 brick-and-mortar and 1078 farm-direct sites reported data be-tween 2020 and 2021. Descriptive statistics and linear regression analyses (outcome: incentives redeemed) were ***: Traditional brick-and-mortar stores had 0.48 times the incentives redeemed compared with small brick-and-mortar stores. At brick-and-mortar sites, automatic discounts had 3.47 times the incentives redeemed compared with physical discounts;and auxiliary services and marketing led to greater redemption. Farm-direct sites using multilingual and direct promotional marketing had greater incentives ***: To our knowledge, this is the first national study to focus on NI program implementation across sites nationwide. Factors identified can help inform future programming and research.
