As a result of the large scale and diverse composition of modern compiled JavaScript applications, comprehending overall program structure for debugging is challenging. In this paper we present our solution: MetropolJS. By using a Treemap-based visualization it is possible to get a high level view within limited screen real estate. Previous approaches to Treemaps lacked the fine detail and interactive features to be useful as a debugging tool. This paper introduces an optimized approach for visualizing complex program structure that enables new debugging techniques where the execution of programs can be displayed in real time from a bird's-eye view. The approach facilitates highlighting and visualizing method calls and distinctive code patterns on top of code segments without a high overhead for navigation. Using this approach enables fast analysis of previously difficult-to-comprehend code bases.

The impact of program structure on cortisol patterning in children attending out-of-home child care

Full-day center-based child care has repeatedly been associated with rising levels of cortisol, a hormone that helps the body manage challenge, across the day at child care. This article presents findings from two studies examining the relationship between child care program structure (number of days per week, and hours per day) and cortisol production across the day. Study I presents findings comparing cortisol production in 3- to 5-year-old children enrolled in either full-day (N= 55) or half-day (N= 63) Head-Start-funded programs. Study 2 presents findings comparing young children enrolled in either full-day full-time (5 days per week;N=37) or full-day part-time (2-3days/week;N=41) primarily tuition-funded programs. Using multilevel modeling and controlling for a number of child factors, attending full-day, full-time programs (as compared to either half-day or part-time programs) was associated with increased cortisol production across the day on child care and home days. Pediatric Tracheostomy Education program structures, Barriers, and Support: A Nationwide Survey of Children's Hospitals

ObjectiveSafe discharge for children with tracheostomies requires caregivers to be competent in tracheostomy management, including emergency interventions. Inpatient pediatric units are tasked with preparing families for discharge, yet variations exist in the standards of tracheostomy education across institutions. To address this gap, we aimed to describe the inpatient tracheostomy education programs in children's hospitals across the United *** DesignThis is a cross-sectional study conducted between May and July *** distributed an online survey to a purposeful sample of representatives from participating children's *** 42-item survey evaluated various aspects of tracheostomy education, including teaching strategies, timing of education, operational support, and overall program structure. Descriptive statistics were generated, and researchers reviewed open-ended items to identify ***-seven institutions participated, 26 of which were free-standing children's hospitals. All programs surveyed conducted bedside checkoffs, required a rooming-in period, and provided tracheostomy cardiopulmonary resuscitation and low-fidelity simulation for emergency teaching. programs varied in the order of education and the type of support received. Many programs lacked a postdischarge follow-up structure and the majority evaluated program effectiveness with readmission rates. Lack of private-duty nursing was the primary barrier to discharge, followed by family availability and reluctance to participate in *** program structure and support variations suggest that more investigation is needed in discharge education and postdischarge follow-up for children with tracheostomies. A national guideline for tracheostomy education and identification of standardized quality metrics for program evaluation would benefit current and emerging programs.

Genetic programming for Image Classification: A New program Representation With Flexible Feature Reuse

Extracting effective features from images is crucial for image classification, but it is challenging due to high variations across images. Genetic programming (GP) has become a promising machine-learning approach to feature learning in image classification. The representation of existing GP-based image classification methods is usually the tree-based structure. These methods typically learn useful image features according to the output of the GP program's root node. However, they are not flexible enough in feature learning since the features produced by internal nodes of the GP program have seldom been directly used. In this article, we propose a new image classification approach using GP with a new program structure, which can flexibly reuse features generated from different nodes, including internal nodes of the GP program. The new method can automatically learn various informative image features based on the new function set and terminal set for effective and efficient image classification. Furthermore, instead of relying on a predefined classification algorithm, the proposed approach can automatically select a suitable classification algorithm based on the learned features and conduct classification simultaneously in a single evolved GP program for an image classification task. The experimental results on 12 benchmark datasets of varying difficulty suggest that the new approach achieves better performance than many state-of-the-art methods. Further analysis demonstrates the effectiveness and efficiency of the flexible feature reuse in the proposed approach. The analysis of evolved GP programs/solutions shows their potentially high interpretability.

Representative compensation and disability claimant outcomes

Many claimants of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) retain legal representation to help with the approval process. The Social Security Administration imposes strict rules on representative compensation. Representatives are only paid if claimants are awarded disability, and they are paid the lesser of 25 percent of the claimant's past due benefits or a pre-specified maximum fee ($7,200 since 2022). Because past due benefits are a function of the number of months claimants wait to be awarded, representatives face incentives to delay case resolution until past due benefits push the representative fees past the fee ceiling. We use difference-indifferences to evaluate how these incentives impact SSDI claimant wait times. After the fee ceiling increased in 2002, average wait times increased by 0.85 months among claimants for whom the fee threshold is more binding, implying a 2.6-5.6 month increase for claimants with representatives. This indicates that the structure of representative compensation does matter for case outcomes, and highlights the importance of interactions with auxiliary agents so common in modern social programs.

In teaching students to program with compositions of higher-order functions, we have encountered a sharp distinction in the difficulty of problems as perceived by students. This distinction especially matters as growing numbers of programmers learn about functional programming for data processing. We have made initial progress on identifying this distinction, which appears counter-intuitive to some. We describe the phenomenon, provide some preliminary evidence of the difference in difficulty, and suggest consequences for functional programming pedagogy.

An analysis of learners' programming skills through data mining

programming skills (PS) are indispensable abilities in the information age, but the current research on PS cultivation mainly focuses on the teaching methods and lacks the analysis of program features to explore the differences in learners' PS and guide programming learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study aims to explore horizontal differences and vertical changes in PS of learners aged 18 to 25 and facilitate the discovery of programming features and behaviors to guide the acquisition of PS through an experiment of statistical analysis and cluster analysis of 2,400 Python programs in four programming tasks. The research found the characteristics and main differences of PS reflected in the function call, interactive loop and several structures nesting. Simple programming task to medium-difficulty programming task is the most important link in programming learning. Furthermore, the research also showed that the difference in program structure is the core and foundation. The difference in type and quantity in simple structure, nested structure and mixed-use of structures is regular, which is an important factor to determine whether the program runs efficiently and whether the programming task can be solved. Finally, some heuristic ideas were put forward to help learners optimize programs and solve programming difficulties, which was of great guiding significance to PS learning.

This paper reports on curriculum and course structure development, a pilot program to address the needs of entry point for adult students into the tertiary studies in Iceland. With the new program structure, we seek to appeal to older students, working people who missed their opportunity to go to university as young adults for various reasons. Also, we seek to appeal to young adults that wish to attend a shorter university program, 90 ECTS with the option of continue to a full ***. Degree later.

Triptycene 1,2-Quinones and Quinols: Permeable Crystalline Redox-Active Molecular Solids

Suitably designed quinones and quinols are promising modules for the programmed construction of ordered redox-active molecular solids. To explore this potential, we have synthesized compounds 1-4, in which multiple 1,2-benzoquinone and 1,2-quinol units are attached to a triptycene core. The resulting molecules have topologies that disfavor efficient packing, and structural studies show that they crystallize to form open networks held together by characteristic attractive intermolecular forces, including O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions, pi-stacking, and dipolar interactions. Remarkably, the resulting solids are permeable and can undergo reversible redox reactions without loss of crystallinity. Our work may thereby help lead to the design of robust carbon-based batteries with electrodes derived from quinones, quinols, and other redox-active molecules abundantly produced by nature.

Many software failures are caused by faults in programs. Fault localization is always a difficult task in program debugging, and the spectrum-based fault localization (SBFL in short) is a popular approach. A SBFL technique collects code coverage of program runs, and estimates to what extent individual program entities correlate to the failed runs. We have empirically reported that referencing debugging history can effectively alleviate the impact of program structure on the accuracy of SBFL techniques. However, referencing all test cases indistinguishably may have adverse effects. In this paper, we propose a novel technique SeTCHi, which differentiates test cases according to their coverage and test outputs, and refines SBFL with the means to select supporting test cases with respect to program entities and history program versions. We also conduct an empirical study, which shows that SeTCHi can significantly improve the accuracy of fault localization based on state-of-the-art techniques.
