This work presents the design of a lightweight, low-end, virtually zero-cost on-line passive testing technology (Tiny TTCN-inspired Testing Tool) that is complementary to other, well established testing frameworks. A tester is built around an Arduino-class microcontroller and is programmed in a test language that re-creates the basic semantics and look-and-feel of the standardized test language TTCN-3 (Testing and Test Control Notation). It is intended for rapid prototyping and as a one-off development platform for the validation of IoT-class distributed systems involving humans-in-the-loop, especially for long-term unobtrusive supervision of in-the-wild behaviour change experiments in an instrumented home/work facility. To justify feasibility claims, selected implementation details are also reported.

In order to solve the problems of manual extrusion with scraper on the granulation network, such as high labor intensity, low production efficiency, bad production environment and low production safety, a set of equipment for automatic granulation of silicon mixture was developed. The main technical requirements, mechanical system design and composition of the equipment are introduced, and the electrical control design is expounded. The results show that the design can realize the automatic granulation of a silicon-based mixture, and the production efficiency is high. The design has been successfully applied to the production of a certain enterprise.

The effort for design and implementation of process automation systems increases with the complexity of modern production plants. To shorten the implementation phase we propose a conceptual approach for automated code generation for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) based on knowledge acquisition from standardized engineering artifacts and their corresponding tool database. Ontologies are defined for each engineering domain artifact, representing the concepts and relations specified in the associated domain standards. An automated data extraction and population of the domain-specific ontologies together with semi-automated mapping definitions between common engineering objects then enables a rulebased code generator to query the ontologies. The query results are translated afterward into PLC code by applying a rule transformation algorithm.

In this paper, a new memory-based control problem is addressed for neutral systems with time-varying delay, input saturations and energy bounded disturbances. Attention is focused on the de-sign of a memory-based state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system achieves the de-sirable performance indices including the boundedness of the state trajectories, the H-infinity disturbance rejection/attenuation level as well as the asymptotic stability. By using the combination of a novel delay-dependent polytopic approach, augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and some integral in-equalities, delay-dependent sufficient conditions are first proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Then, three convex optimization problems are formulated whose aims are to, respectively, maximize the disturbance tolerance level, minimize the disturbance attenuation level and maximize the initial condition set. Protocol Oblivious Forwarding: Software-Defined Networking with Enhanced Programmability

Software-defined networking separates the control and forwarding planes of a network to make it more programmable and application-aware. As one of the initial implementations of SDN, OpenFlow abstracts a forwarding device as a flow table and realizes flow processing by applying the "match-and-act" principle. However, the protocol-dependent nature of OpenFlow still limits the programmability of the forwarding plane. Hence, in this article, we discuss how to leverage protocol-oblivious forwarding (POF) to further enhance the network programmability such that the forwarding plane becomes protocol-independent and can be dynamically reprogrammed to support new protocol stacks seamlessly. We first review the development of OpenFlow and explain the motivations for introducing POF. Then we explain the working principle of POF, discuss our efforts on realizing the POF development ecosystem, and show our implementation of POF-based source routing as a novel use case. Finally, we elaborate on the first WAN-based POF network testbed that includes POF switches located in two cities in China.

The wind energy conversion system is a complex dynamic system which contains multi-coupling and multi-time-scales. The commonly used simplified models are unable to uncover all the detailed dynamics. The real-time co-simulation platform based on real-time digital simulator and GH Bladed is built with a controller hardware-in-loop, in which the kinematics equation of generator rotor is used as the interface to decouple the different time scales, and a specific programmable logic controller is used to build the two-way communication. The effect of signal delay between the two simulation platforms is discussed and the stability of the system is analysed. The proposed co-simulation platform is able to show detailed dynamics of the whole turbine as well as the comprehensive effects of the controllers. The correctness and superiorities are verified by number of simulations.

Quantitative Analysis of the Security of Software-Defined Network Controller Using Threat/Effort Model

SDN-based controller, which is responsible for the configuration and management of the network, is the core of Software-Defined Networks. Current methods, which focus on the secure mechanism, use qualitative analysis to estimate the security of controllers, leading to inaccurate results frequently. In this paper, we employ a quantitative approach to overcome the above shortage. Under the analysis of the controller threat model we give the formal model results of the APIs, the protocol interfaces, and the data items of controller and further provide our Threat/Effort quantitative calculationmodel. With the help of Threat/Effort model, we are able to compare not only the security of different versions of the same kind controller but also different kinds of controllers and provide a basis for controller selection and secure development. We evaluated our approach in four widely used SDN-based controllers which are POX, OpenDaylight, Floodlight, and Ryu. The test, which shows the similarity outcomes with the traditional qualitative analysis, demonstrates that with our approach we are able to get the specific security values of different controllers and presents more accurate results.

programmable logic controllers (PLCs) automate the control and monitoring of physical industrial and infrastructure processes such as power generation, gas pipelines, and water management. Due to the convergence of networking infrastructure, PLCs can be exposed to cyberattacks over the network with potentially catastrophic consequences. This article introduces the basic mechanisms by which various attacks can be detected, analyzed, and ultimately remedied.

Application of a double cross limiting method in a lime mixing and milling system

The article presents the adaptation of the setpoint calculation algorithm with limitation using the double cross method, known from the fuel-air regulation systems, in the system for mixing two sorts of lime, enabling the start of the process line without additional start-up procedures. The authors modified the standard double cross algorithm in order to enable the start of the system without special start-up procedures, while maintaining all the features of the algorithm. The results of the tests of the modified algorithm in the lime milling and mixing system are also presented.

The paper deals with an analysis of features of on-off controllers. It was assumed that the control quality can be described by three distinctive indexes: the period, the amplitude and the mean value of the controlled signal in the steady state. The on-off controller with positive hysteresis was a basic form of the controller that was analyzed. To eliminate the disadvantages of this basic form the controller structure was augmented by inertia corrector. Its impact on mentioned above indicators was shown and described. To compensate the negative influence of inertia corrector on the mean value of the controlled signal, an additional proportional corrector was proposed. Its influence on control quality was shown and discussed. To show how easy it is to build the proposed structure of the controller, its exemplary implementation in the ladder logic language of the S7-1200 PLC was described.
