We present novel surface-enhanced infrared spectroscopic techniques based on plasmonic metamaterials. The large spectral selectivity achieved by the Fano-resonant metamaterials significantly enhanced the spectral sensitivity in far-field infrared absorption spectroscopy. The low-background detection scheme based on the metamaterial infrared absorbers dramatically improved the signal-to-background ratio for better sensitivity. Our metamaterial approaches achieve the attomole sensitivity with a large signal-to-noise ratio in the far-field measurement, thus may open up new avenues for realizing ultrasensitive infrared inspection technologies.

We report on a drawing-ratio dependence of the refractive index difference between the two optic axes (Δn) of poly lactic acid films in terahertz frequency range. We found that Δη can be controlled in a range of 0-0.04 by changing the drawing ratio. The result shows that we can design a terahertz wave plate with arbitral retardation, which will be useful for establishing polymer-based terahertz optical component with low cost and easy implementation in mass production.

Non Line of Sight propagation is an important reason effecting to the positioning accuracy of Ultrawide Bandwidth system. It's difficult to model and distinguish NLOS signal, as the characteristics of NLOS signal are closely related to the environment. Therefore, the NLOS identification may be modeled a one-class classification problem. This method only uses LOS signal as the target class instance to determine the one-class classification interface and realize the detection of NLOS signals. The experimental results show that, without the NLOS signals, the detection performance of one-classclassification using only LOS signals is similar to support vector machine algorithm which need two kinds of signals.

A number of half-salen aluminum complexes bearing unsymmetrical [ONN]-type ligands were prepared from tridentate dinaphthalene-imine derivatives. These complexes were characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. These complexes were employed for rac-lactide and L-lactide polymerization. Upon activation with isopropanol, complex (S)-B-6 (R-1 = R-2 = R-4 = H;R-3 = F) showed the highest activity (a monomer conversion of 94.6%) amid these aluminum complexes for the ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide;and complex (S)-B-2 (R-1 = R-2 = R-3 = H;R-4 = Bu-t) showed the highest stereoselectivity for the ring-opening polymerization of rac-lactide, obtaining a polylactide (PLA) with a Pm of 0.69. The polymerization kinetics utilizing (S)-B-6 as a catalyst were researched in detail. The data on the polymerization kinetics revealed that the rate of polymerization was first-order with respect to the monomer and the catalyst. There was a linear relationship between the L-lactide conversion and the number-average molecular weight of PLA.

This article aims on the fabrication of cost-effective polylactic acid (PLA) biocomposites using kudzu biomass derivatives as new filler. In this way, it has been realized that pretreatment of the filler was an essential requirement. We demonstrated thermal pyrolysis process that targeted to extraction and isolation of all extractable and unnecessary compounds such as intracellular water and bio-oil from the biomass. Also, to further improve the compatibility of the filler with PLA, noncatalytic thermal esterification reactions of kudzu after thermal pyrolysis (called char) were carried out as second pretreatment stage in the presence of phthalic anhydride. Kudzu derivatives obtained from either first or second pretreatment reactions were melt-blended with PLA in various rates. The blends were then compression molded into dumbbell specimens. Physicomechanical properties of the prepared biocomposites were evaluated using several analytical techniques. It was found that biocomposites containing treated biomass had higher values of physicomechanical properties than untreated ones. The final rate of filler to PLA with acceptable properties was set up to 50%. Obviously, the cost of PLA can be reduced using higher rates of low-cost filler on a finished-product basis. Proposed research, shows implementation of EX_OR SUM OF PRODUCT - REVERSIBLE programmablelogic ARRAY (ESOP-RPLA) using Reversible logic based Dwivedi Rao Gate2 (DRG2) and DRG4 gates. DRG2 is N×N (N input - N output) Gate and is capable of implementing ESOP and Code Conversion operations. 3×3 DRG2 is Parity Preserving Gate and universal gate designed for implementation of all logical, 2:1 MUX and Addition & Subtraction Operations. This design uses only 12 gates, thus showing improvement of 02 gates w.r.t its counter parts. Based on only DRG2 and DRG4 gates its VLSI implementation is simple, cost effective as compared to its counter parts, which are using more than 03 different types of gates.

Labeling salient region accurately in video with cluttered background and complex motion condition is still a challenging work. In this paper, an efficient and low complexity spatiotemporal consistency optimization model, and a video saliency framework using the spatiotemporal consistency are proposed. We derive the superpixel-level spatial and temporal saliency value by integrating three spatial saliency features and two temporal saliency features respectively. After optimizing the spatial and temporal saliency map respectively using spatiotemporal consistency optimization model, the spatial and temporal saliency map are fused and enhanced by spatiotemporal consistency optimization. Finally, pixel-level salient regions are generated by graph-cuts algorithm. Experimental results on two challenging benchmark video datasets demonstrate the superiority and robustness of proposed spatiotemporal consistency optimization model and video saliency detection framework over state-of-the-art methods.

Novel crossbar antifuse for high-density user programmablelogic array (PLA) is presented. Circuit area reduction and routability increase of PLA are achieved by crossbar architecture based on pure-CMOS antifuse adjacently integrated into low-voltage and high-speed logic transistors. In addition, since our crossbar antifuse technique can be fabricated according to the standard design rule of advanced CMOS process, it is easy to implement our PLA as a user-customizable embedded logic in SoC. The logic density of our test chip in 65 nm process technology is 1835 lookup-tables (LUTs)/mm 2 , which is larger than any previous reports.
