This paper is dealing with the reconstruction of the control of preheating mold machine. Old system with relay devices for operation control is replaced by new electronic PLC one. There are designed and created a new electronic signal grid with fieldbus and new control system using programmable logic controllers(PLCs) as well as human-machine interface(HMI). They are used for control and setting parameters of preheating technology. New algorithms and programs for PLC and HMI have been created, and reparation of mechanical parts of the preheating machine has been performed. Device is after all make changes used for saving time in manufacture. Several kinds of regulators are described adaptive regulator including.

The performance of two different Quadratic Programming (QP) solvers for embedded Model Predictive Control (MPC), FiOrdOs and qpOASES, is evaluated for a relevant case study from the petroleum industry. Embedded MPC for the considered system is implemented on a PLC (programmable logic controller) using both solvers. The focus is on the computation time and memory requirements of the solvers as the dimensions of the control problem increase. The results show that qpOASES has a superior performance for small systems with respect to computation time. However, qpOASES has a near cubic growth in computation time with respect to the number of system variables, while FiOrdOs only has a near linear growth. FiOrdOs may thus be faster for larger systems. FiOrdOs has a smaller memory footprint than qpOASES for small systems;however, the program size grows faster than with qpOASES, and for the largest system configuration, the program sizes were almost identical. For even larger systems, qpOASES may have smaller program memory requirements than FiOrdOs, though qpOASES requires more data memory for all problem sizes.

Cubic boron nitride is commonly used as a cutting tools material for the sake of its high hardness and wear-resistance. Pulse Plasma Sintering was proposed to decrease the production costs. This method is very attractive for industry, because it significantly decreases the costs of production. The goal of this paper is to present the control system prototype for Pulse Plasma Sintering processes based on programmable logic controller. Only sintering process with carefully controlled parameters allows to restrict the transformation of cBN into hBN and guarantee production of high-quality cubic boron nitride samples. Thus a dedicated control system was developed to control parameters and therefore to improve the production process. This paper presents also a visualisation system which allows the operator to control, monitor and analyze the production process. Prepared application consists of manual and auto operating mode.

This paper deals with the control of the preheating process of a casting mould formulated as a distributed parameter system and using a programmable logic controller (PLC). The control process is first optimized by a simulation procedure using a distributed parameter control loop. The temporal part of the control synthesis is implemented on the PLC in order to control the preheating of the casting mould. A controlled preheating process is demonstrated on the experimental casting mould with embedded sensors and actuators.

This work presents a linear quadratic model predictive controller (MPC) implemented in an industrial programable logic controller (PLC). The control law is calculated by solving on-line the quadratic programming problem derived from the optimization control problem of MPC. Nesterov's fast gradient algorithm has been used to solve the corresponding linear quadratic MPC problems with input constraints. The predictive controller has been implemented in a Schneider Electric M340 using the standard structured language from the IEC 1131.1 norm. The memory and computational time requirements of the proposed implementation have been characterized through extensive simulations. In addition, the properties of the proposed controller have been experimentally demonstrated using a test-bed in which the MPC running in the M340 controls a model of a quadruple-tank process simulated in Matlab/Simulink through an OPC server.

The paper presents practical experiences during implementation of radio remote control to the electrical bridge cranes in machine room HEP "Perucica" and gantry crane at a lock on Tisa. In addition to the new way of control, also kept the old way of control from cabine cranes as provided with selector switch. Installation of radio remote control system compared to conventional wired controlling methods, significantly is improved the efficiency and safely handling cranes.

This paper presents a Power Measurement Module to create a Real-Time Energy Monitoring System. The power measurement module measures electrical data in a three-phase supply network. The three-phase voltages and currents are fed as inputs to the power measurement module. Based on these input values, total power factor, total active energy and frequencies of the three phases are calculated. The programmable logic controller (PLC) is programmed to acquire the electrical data from a remote station (where the PLC-based system is installed). The acquired data is stored in a relational database. Modbus TCP communication is used to retrieve live data from the remote station. A Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system is conceptualized and developed. It has the capability to generate reports and trends of the data recorded in the relational database. Any wastage of energy can be sensed and corrective action can be taken by monitoring the recorded data.

Over the recent decades a common approach seems to be taken for granted that only dedicated Central Processing Unit (CPU) offered as self-contained modules by various manufacturers are the only solution for implementation of programmable logic controllers (PLC). To demonstrate right the contrary authors of this study reveal various CPU solutions of PLCs developed on the basis of some typical microcontrollers, including the ones from the families MCS-51, AVR and ARM with the Cortex M3 core. These CPUs were then employed to run a control program developed in an Instruction List (IL) language that meets recommendations of the IEC-61131-3 standard. The paper demonstrates that the basic operators of the IL language can be used to simplify bodies of the standard defined function and function blocks. The rules are outlined that the authors adhered to at development of commands for the IL language with dedicated examples that explain how these commands can be used to define functionalities for operational modules of counters and timers and a combinational Boolean function - on the example of the LIMIT procedure. It is also suggested to define several new operators that additionally simplify the notation. The scope of investigations includes also comparison between the solutions suggested by stipulations of the standard in question and the own solutions proposed by the authors with presentation of the outcome from the comparison. The disclosed considerations served as the basis to suggest the new architecture for a CPU that is suitable for operation in line with rules imposed by the standard, but on the other hand it can be used for operation with some modifications suggested by the authors and intended to reduce processing time for some operators, Boolean functions and functional blocks.

There is a tailor-made Manufacturing Execution System presented in the paper. The system has been developed and implemented practically by authors. The general idea behind it is explained firstly. A generic structure of Factory Automation system was introduced. Siemens Simatic S7-300 PLC controllers were used to implement the idea. The MES software was written in C# software. The approach for PLC configuration and programming using Step 7 software was briefly presented. The communication between PC MES software and PLCs is based on industrial Ethernet. The main functionalities of the MES system were pointed.

Remora III, a 6,000-meter rated Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) designed, built, and operated by Phoenix International Holdings, Inc. (Phoenix), has performed extremely well during its 16 years of service as a search and recovery vehicle. While several mechanical upgrades have been made to the vehicle during this period, the desire to increase Remora's service capability and operational availability necessitated an upgrade to its control system. programmable logic controller (PLC) technology was selected to serve this purpose due to its many advantages including proven reliability, world-wide availability, future expansion of capabilities by simply adding modules, and easy to program interfaces. Phoenix's previous experience in implementing PLCs for ROV control systems includes work completed on the U.S. Navy's Deep Drone ROV upgrade and the design/build of the U.S. Navy's new Hydros ROV.
