The demand for stereo garages has been an urgent issue as the number of vehicles in China has been soaring these years. An intelligent control system for networked stereo garages is introduced here. Based on authors' design, the movement of the parking plate is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC). PLC sends the parking space status, the limit switch state, and the motor running parameters to the acorn RSIC machine (ARM) control system. The ARM control system then uploads the license plate recognition result and the garage operation data to the cloud platform instantly through internal network. The cloud platform would develop corresponding control strategies based on data received from the cloud portal (website and application (APP)) and the ARM controller. The test result of the system indicates that it meets the requirements of relevant technical indicators and the actual needs of users.

The system includes a culture rack station for storing a large number of roller bottles filled with culture medium and inoculated with mammalian cells, masshandling facility for extracting completed cultures from the roller bottles, and replacing the culture medium. The various component units of the system were controlled either by a general-purpose programmable logic controller or a dedicated controller. The operator could easily select and change the appropriate mode from outside of the aseptic area. The development of the system made large-scale production of mammalian cells, and manufacturing and stabilization of high quality products such as erythropoietin possible under total aseptic control, and opened up the door for industrial production of physiologically active substances as pharmaceutical drugs by mammalian cell culture.

Semantic attacks have incurred increasing threats to Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), which manipulate targeted system modules by identifying the physical semantics of variables in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programs, i.e., the sensing/actuating modules represented by the variables. This is usually (and inefficiently) achieved via manual examination of system documents and long-term observation of system behavior. In this paper, we design ARES, a method that Automatically Reverse Engineers the Semantics of variables in PLC programs without requiring any domain knowledge. ARES is built on the fact that the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system monitors the behavior of PLC using a fixed mapping between the variables of program code and data log, and the data log variables are marked with physical semantics. By identifying the mapping between PLC code and SCADA data (i.e., the code-data mapping), ARES reverse engineers the physical semantics of program variables. ARES also sheds light on the preferred practices in implementing control rules that improve the resistance of PLC programs to semantic attacks. We have experimentally evaluated ARES and the recommended implementation practices on two ICS platforms.

A conical tank in which the diameter changes with the tank height, allows the use of feedback control used in complex nonlinear systems, such as adaptive control. This project modified an existing system of two interacting tanks by inserting a removable solid cone into one of the tanks. This modification created two new nonlinear configurations, one of which had a discontinuity. Optimal controller settings at different depths of liquid were found by minimizing the integral of the absolute error (IAE). These settings were used by an adaptive PID controller at a different settings, comparing the results to a conventional PID tuned to that setting.

The principle of wind turbine generator (WTG) and its control system based on programmable logic controller (PLC) are presented. The wind energy is converted into electric energy by WTG. Because of the uncertainties of the speed, the direction of the wind, and the large inertia of the wind turbine of WTG, reliable control strategies are adopted to assure the WTG to run normally under serious conditions. According to the special requirement of the control system of 55kW WTG, a gate method is used to get the precise measurement of the generator's speed. The generator can be merged into or disengaged from the power system safely by the control system. The crosswind protection of the wind turbine and casting loose automatically are also realized. The practical running results show that the control system is reliable.

The implementation of an alarm system was carried out to protect a submersible pump whose purpose is to maintain the river water supply of a company in Cusco. The guidelines of the PMBOK, which is the main book of the PMI, were used. Within the development of the project, there are 5 phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring-control, and finally, closure. In the initial phase, interested parties will be determined, and the project charter will be drafted. In the planning phase, requirements gathering, design, analysis, risk management, and project schedule will be carried out. The execution phase will be carried out within the agreement with the interested parties, where the implementation of the project itself will be developed under the supervision of the project director. Progress in the monitoring and control phase will be monitored and controlled according to the schedule. Finally, in the Closing phase, what was requested by the interested parties can be compared with the final results. According to the results obtained in the initiation and planning phase, it is evident that there will be better remote control and monitoring of the submersible pump alarm system, minimizing unexpected stops. Therefore, it is concluded that by using Logo Soft Comfort tools such as Logo Web Editor and Logo Access Tool, monitoring and control screens can be developed and alarm reports generated to make assertive decisions, either for preventive or corrective maintenance of equipment, thus minimizing unwanted events that could affect the water supply from the river to the plant.
