Indonesian Olema Council (MUI) Bogor Regency is Institution which is given the authority by the government to publish halal certificate, particularly in Bogor regency. It makes Indonesian Olema Councl (MUI) as information resources for society regarding halal product. Furthermore, through LPPOM MUI society are able to register products which want to be certified as well as to get the information regarding halal products. However, as the increasing demand of accuracy and speedy to acess the information, the system which is currently owned by LPPOM MUI Bogor regency is not enough. Therefore, information systems especially e-service system that supports the process of admission of certification rapid and proper is needed. System development method used is RAD (Rapid Application Development) and tools is UML (Unified Modelling language) by using four diagrams those are use case diagram, activity diagram, class diagram, and sequence diagram as tool for designing along with PHP and MySQL as programming language and tool for saving data. The out come from this research is a prototype of e-service system which can be used by Indonesian Olema Council (MUI) Bogor regency. To facilitate the public especially for the society of Bogor regency in registrating their products to be certified and to abridging people in Accessing information regarding accurate halal product.

programming plays an important role in both academic and career development among engineers and computer scientists;however, acquiring and developing knowledge of programming is a complex process. Understanding program behavior is one of the most important factors in learning programming and in maintenance of existing programs. Here, the need exists to develop tools to facilitate understanding and to serve more than documentation and initial planning needs of a program (i.e., pseudo codes and flowcharts). In order to understand a program's behavior, a programmer needs a computer model that will execute it. Visualization has proven effective as a strategy for providing programmers and students with clearer meaning of their codes, developing and maintaining programs, and learning programming. This paper proposes a new diagrammatic methodology that produces a conceptual representation of program instructions. It can provide a foundation for understanding the behavior of running programs. The paper also reports on applying the new method to teaching an introductory university course;the results demonstrate that it improves understanding of programming and its underlying computer operations.

Constructivism theory states that learning is unavoidably done through association of new concepts with existing ones. Although programming concepts are abstract metaphors of some colloquial concepts, they seem to be not enough to overcome learning difficulties. We hypothesize that interrelated systems of metaphors (allegories) of abstract programming concepts can ease the association process and improve student learning. Our research introduces allegoric development environments and proposes to experimentally evaluate their effects on learning of programming concepts reported as difficult by students. Template is a powerful language feature to develop reusable programs, which has long been widely used by C++ programmers. Among various templates, library templates play a key role, as they provide programmers fault-free generic units. But to our surprise, little work has been done to study how these templates are adopted in real software. In this paper, we conduct an empirical study on the adoption of templates to understand how library templates influence programming compared with user defined templates. To this end, we use the historical revisions of ten open source systems, containing 34 million lines of C++ code, to conduct the experiment. The experimental results show that: (1) the growth of using library templates does not result in a substantial decrease of using user defined templates;(2) eight templates account for over 95% of all library template uses;and (3) user defined templates tend to be derived more frequently than library templates. Based on these results, we make two practical suggestions. For C++ novices, we suggest that they focus on learning the eight most commonly-used library templates. For library developers, we suggest that they develop more library templates that can be easily derived. Copyright © 2014 by Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School.

Biocoder: A programming language for standardizing and automating biology protocols

BACKGROUND:Published descriptions of biology protocols are often ambiguous and incomplete, making them difficult to replicate in other laboratories. However, there is increasing benefit to formalizing the descriptions of protocols, as laboratory automation systems (such as microfluidic chips) are becoming increasingly capable of executing them. Our goal in this paper is to improve both the reproducibility and automation of biology experiments by using a programming language to express the precise series of steps taken. RESULTS:We have developed BioCoder, a C++ library that enables biologists to express the exact steps needed to execute a protocol. In addition to being suitable for automation, BioCoder converts the code into a readable, English-language description for use by biologists. We have implemented over 65 protocols in BioCoder; the most complex of these was successfully executed by a biologist in the laboratory using BioCoder as the only reference. We argue that BioCoder exposes and resolves ambiguities in existing protocols, and could provide the software foundations for future automation platforms. BioCoder is freely available for download at http://***/en-us/um/india/projects/biocoder/. CONCLUSIONS:BioCoder represents the first practical programming system for standardizing and automating biology protocols. Our vision is to change the way that experimental methods are communicated: rather than publishing a written account of the protocols used, researchers will simply publish the code. Our experience suggests that this practice is tractable and offers many benefits. We invite other researchers to leverage BioCoder to improve the precision and completeness of their protocols, and also to adapt and extend BioCoder to new domains.

In higher eukaryotes, alternative splicing is usually regulated by protein factors, which bind to the pre-mRNA and affect the recognition of splicing signals. There is recent evidence that the secondary structure of the pre-mRNA may also play an important role in this process, either by facilitating or hindering the interaction with factors and small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) that regulate splicing. Moreover, the secondary structure could play a fundamental role in the splicing of yeast species, which lack many of the regulatory splicing factors present in metazoans. This chapter describes the steps in the analysis of the secondary structure of the pre-mRNA and its possible relation to splicing. As a working example, we use the case of yeast and the problem of the recognition of the 3′ splice site (3′ss). less

Protein coding RNAs are posttranscriptionally regulated by microRNAs, a class of small noncoding RNAs. Insights in messenger RNA (mRNA) and microRNA (miRNA) regulatory interactions facilitate the understanding of fine-tuning of gene expression and might allow better estimation of protein synthesis. However, in silico predictions of mRNA–microRNA interactions do not take into account the specific transcriptomic status of the biological system and are biased by false positives. One possible solution to predict rather reliable mRNA-miRNA relations in the specific biological context is to integrate real mRNA and miRNA transcriptomic data as well as in silico target predictions. This chapter addresses the workflow and methods one can apply for expression profiling and the integrative analysis of mRNA and miRNA data, as well as how to analyze and interpret results, and how to build up models of posttranscriptional regulatory networks. less

As the field of proteomics shifts from qualitative identification of protein “subfractions” to quantitative comparison of proteins from complex biological samples, it is apparent that the number of approaches for quantitation can be daunting for the result-oriented biologist. There have been many recent reviews on quantitative proteomic approaches, discussing the strengths and limitations of each. Unfortunately, there are few detailed methodological descriptions of any one of these quantitative approaches. Here we present a detailed bioinformatics workflow for one of the simplest, most pervasive quantitative approach—spectral counting. The informatics and statistical workflow detailed here includes newly available freeware, such as SePro and PatternLab which post-process data according to false discovery rate parameters, and statistically model the data to detect differences and trends. less
