In many pervasive computing applications, the users' requirements on environment are highly dependent on specific user activities. We refer to these applications as activity-oriented context-aware (AOCA) applications. In this paper, we propose a programming method which focuses on requirements related to each activity. This method supports lightweight and incremental development of AOCA applications. In order to enhance the reliability of the developed applications especially for safety-critical applications, we further propose an Ambient Calculus based formal model to specify AOCA applications. We describe properties for the verification based on Ambient Logic. Finally, we present a case study to demonstrate the developing process of the proposed method and the usability of the formalization.

Hadoop is a software framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using simple programming models. Hadoop is widely used due to its scalability, high reliability, low-cost, high efficiency and so on. Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and MapReduce programming model are respectively used for storing and processing of the data. This paper firstly carries depth research and detailed introduction on HDFS and MapReduce, then proposing a programming method that can sort output according to the order input. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible and effective. Through such output, it will bring great convenience in data processing on the later work.

In the proposed method, the requirements of different customer connected to the distribution system are determined and measured by customer satisfaction degree, where, the direct and indirect economic losses caused by the power quality disturbances occurring in the distribution system can be determined by the customer satisfaction degree. By the help of customer losses, a high supply quality system programming model and method are developed. Considering the compatibility between power quality disturbances caused by distribution system fault and customer requirements, maximum entropy method is used. The proposed method is validated by a test system. The results have shown that the proposed method can insure the power supply quality with appropriate cost.

Two kinds of variational principles for numerical simulation of heat transfer and contact analyses are respectively presented. A finite element model for numerical simulation of the thermal contact problems is developed with a pressure dependent heat transfer constitutive model across the contact surface. The numerical algorithm for the finite element analysis of the thermomechanical contact problems is thus developed. Numerical examples are computed and the results demonstrate the validity of the model and algorithm developed.

A COMBINED programming AND ITERATION ALGORITHM FOR FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF 3-DIMENSIONAL CONTACT PROBLEMS

Comparing with two-dimensional contact problems, three-dimensional frictional contact problems are more difficult to deal with, because of the unknown slip direction of the tangential force and enormous computing time. In order to overcome these difficulties, a combined PQP (Parametric Quadratic programming) and iteration method is derived in this paper. The iteration algorithm, which alleviates the difficulty of unknown slip direction, is used along with the PQP method to cut down computing costs. Numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity of the present algorithm.

On the convergence of traffic measurement and queueing analysis: A statistical-matching and queueing (SMAQ) tool

The analytical tool developed in this paper provides a general solution technique for integration of traffic measurement and queueing analysis, The frequency-domain approach is used to combine the advanced techniques in two areas: signal processing and queueing analysis, Essentially, signal processing techniques are used to obtain the steady-state and second-order statistics of a traffic stream. We propose a new programming method far construction of a special class of Markov chains to statistically match with each given traffic stream (or superposition of heterogeneous traffic streams). The analytical queueing solutions can therefore be obtained by the Folding-algorithm based on Markov chain input modeling. Comprehensive numerical examples show the great potential of the statistical-matching and queueing (SMAQ) tool to solve measurement-based traffic management issues.

This paper proposes a programming method for developing autonomous agents that behave intelligently in unpredictable environments, by extending their descriptions to realize larger behavioral repertoires. In our programming method, an agent is described as a concurrent program which updates a finite set of data objects in real time at regular intervals in an object-oriented programming language so that its description can be modular and reusable. The description of an agent specifies its property independent of hardware platforms. The proposed method is suitable for developing an agent difficult to develop based on a top-down approach alone. A Unified Approach for Developing EfficientAlgorithmic Programs

A unified approach called partition-and-recur for developing efficient and correct algorithmic programs is presented. An algorithm (represented by recurrence and initiation) is separated from program, and special attention is paid to algorithm manipulation rather than program calculus. An algorithm is exactly a set of mathematical formulae. It is easier for formal derivation and proof. After getting efficient and correct algorithm, a trivial transformation is used to get a final program. The approach covers several known algorithm design techniques, e.g. dynamic programming, greedy, divide-and-conquer and enumeration, etc. The techniques of partition and recurrence are not new. Partition is a general approach for dealing with complicated objects and is typically used in divide-and-conquer approach. Recurrence is used in algorithm analysis, in developing loop invariants and dynamic programming approach. The main contribution is combining two techniques used in typical algorithm development into a unified and systematic approach to develop general efficient algorithmic programs and presenting a new representation of algorithm that is easier for understanding and demonstrating the correctness and ingenuity of algorithmic programs.

A NEW method FOR SOLUTION OF 3D ELASTIC-PLASTIC FRICTIONAL CONTACT PROBLEMS

The solution of 3 D elastic-plastic frictional contact problems belongs to the un specified boundary problems where the interaction between two kinds of nonlinearities should occur. Considering the difficulties for the solution of 3 D frictional contact problems, the key part is the determination of the tangential slip states at the contact points, and a great amount of computing work is needed for a high accuracy result. A new method based on a combination of programming and iteration methods, which are respectively known as two main kinds of methods for contact analysis, was put forward to deal with 3 D elastic-plastic contact problems. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the algorithm illustrated here.
