In this paper, some efficient image reconstruction algorithms in industrial computed tomography with the fan-beam projection based on windows function was discussed in detail. In order to improve the quality of image reconstruction, windows functions of image reconstruction of convolution back projection was proposed. The windows functions method ameliorates the process of image reconstruction. The efficiency of windows function is evaluated in contrast to that of its traditional serial counterpart. Experiment results clearly demonstrate that windows function can efficiently improve quality of images reconstruction.

This paper presents a new MIMO detector based on successive projection of the received signal onto the faces of the lattice induced by the channel matrix. Analysis of the relationship between successive algorithms like V-BLAST and the maximum likelihood (ML) sphere decoder, which share a common underlying tree structure, leads to the design of the successive projection algorithm (SPA). Although it is a suboptimal detector, we prove theoretically that when ML detection can be realized in a successive manner, i.e., without back-tracking, ML performance is also achieved by the SPA. The advantageous implications of this result are illustrated via simulation of the average bit error rates attained over a 4 times 4 MIMO flat fading channel. For instance, at a target error rate of 10 -3 using 16-QAM modulation, a 2.8 dB improvement over the popular V-BLAST detector is observed at a comparable complexity. We also demonstrate a parameterized SPA, which offers performance profiles approaching that of an ML detector

In this paper, we derive a fast converging concurrent affine projection algorithm for blind multiuser equalisation, suitable for downlink DS-CDMA systems. Adaptation is performed by concurrently minimising two cost functions based on either a CM criterion or a DD scheme for all active users. Concurrent schemes are known to provide faster convergence. Similarly, affine projection algorithms have been incorporated into blind algorithms elsewhere with good improvement of convergence speed. In the work presented here, we derive a system relying on both principles. We show by computer simulation that substantial performance improvement can be gained over either technique in its own.

Fast adaptive algorithms targeted for low-resource implementation on oversampled filterbanks are discussed. First, simplifications to the pseudo-affine projection (PAP) are proposed that decrease the computation cost without degrading the performance. Next, the sequential update PAP algorithm is proposed to further decrease the computational complexity. It is shown that, unlike the partial update fast affine projection, increasing the decimation rate of the partial update algorithm does not lead to more aliasing in the sequential update PAP. Moreover, it is experimentally observed that with proper regularization or step-size scaling, the convergence rate of the sequential PAP is identical for various decimation factors of the partial update. The proposed methods are implemented and evaluated on a low-resource oversampled filterbank platform.

Multilateration systems based on secondary surveillance radar (SSR) and omni-directional antennae are operational today (P. Bezousek, 1998) with expected capacity limitations due to the increase of the air traffic. Assuming the replacement of the omni-directional antenna by an array, we proposed new algorithms in previous works (N. Petrochilos, July 2002), (N. Petrochilos, et al., May 2004). Unfortunately, they have some shortcomings, an expensive computational cost, and a not-so simple practical implementation. Therefore, there is a need for reliable, simple, effective algorithms such as the one we present here to separate multiple SSR signals. Real signals (as recorded in a live environment) are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm

Classical least-mean-square (LMS) adaptive filtering algorithms for system identification are popular and conceptually simple. In many applications subband adaptive filter structures have been shown to be superior computationally and performance-wise. This paper presents a novel subband affine projection algorithm (APA) suitable for use within a recently proposed adaptive filter structure employing critically sampled filter banks. The algorithm is described in the context of measuring a room impulse response for acoustic echo cancellation in hands-free telephony. Experimental results with speech input signals in a conference room show that a four-channel subband adaptive filter with subband APA can achieve an average 5 dB lower mean square error than a subband normalized LMS

In this paper, we present an algorithm that enables programming of standard CMOS floating-gate devices to ultra-low current levels. This paper looks at the limitations of conventional programming schemes for these devices, as well as new methods to achieve ultra-low current levels, reliably, in these devices. Currents range from 1muA down to 100fA. Experimental data is presented from circuits fabricated on a 0.5mum nwell CMOS process available through MOSIS

An efficient affine projection (AP) algorithm, the filtered-x AP algorithm (FXAP), is presented for multichannel active noise control. This algorithm is based on the filtered-x scheme and uses the fast error vector computation and a recursive method to calculate matrix inversions. The new approach provides a significant saving in computational cost compared with other fast versions of the AP algorithm and a faster convergence speed than the filtered-x LMS (FXLMS). The performance of the FXAP is evaluated in a practical ANC system. The proposed algorithm is specially suitable for real time multichannel ANC applications running on a digital signal processing (DSP) card.

A block affine projection algorithm that it is mathematically equivalent to a recently proposed Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection (GS-PAP) algorithm is proposed. A partitioning method is applied to the original sample-by-sample algorithm. It is shown that the derived algorithm has better convergence, tracking abilities and much reduced complexity compared to the NLMS algorithm. Its application in an acoustic echo cancellation system is investigated.
