Wavefront coding (WFC) used in 2D barcode scanners can extend the depth of field into a great extent with simpler structure compared to the autofocus microscope system. With a cubic phase mask (CPM) employed in the STOP, blurred images will be obtained in charge coupled device (CCD), which can be restored by digital filters. Direct methods are used widely in real-time restoration with good computational efficiency but with details smoothed. Here, the results of direct method are firstly filtered by hard-threshold function. The positions of the steps can be detected by simple differential operators. With the positions corrected by projection algorithm, the exact barcode information is restored. A wavefront coding system with 7mm effective focal length and 6 F-number is designed as an example. Although with the different magnification, images of different object distances can be restored by one point spread function (PSF) with 200mm object distance. A QR code (Quickly Response Code) of 31mm X 27mm is used as a target object. The simulation results showed that the sharp imaging objective distance is from 80mm to 355mm. The 2D barcode scanner with wavefront coding extends field depth with simple structure, low cost and large manufacture tolerance. This combination of the direct filter and projection algorithm proposed here could get the exact 2D barcode information with good computational efficiency.

The prime motivation of this work is to devise a projection algorithm that makes the Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) and related methods more efficient for routine clinical use without compromising their accuracy. While we focus mostly on a fast implementation of ART-type methods in the context of 3D cone-beam reconstruction, most of the material presented here is also applicable to speed up 2D slice reconstruction from fan-beam data. In this paper, we utilize the concepts of the splatting algorithm, which is a well known and very efficient voxel-driven projection technique for parallel projection, and devise an extension for perspective cone-beam projection that is considerably more accurate than previously outlined extensions. Since this new voxel-driven splatting algorithm must make great sacrifices with regards to computational speed, we describe a new 3D ray-driven projector that uses similar concepts than the voxel-driven projector but is considerably faster, and, at the same time, also more accurate. We conclude that with the proposed fast projection algorithm the computational cost of cone-beam ART can be reduced significantly with the added benefit of slight gains in accuracy. A further conclusion of our studies is that for parallel-beam reconstruction, on the other hand, a simple voxel-driven splatting algorithm provides for more efficient projection.

In this paper, we present an optimization algorithm based on an alternating projection method to solve the large-scale security constraint optimal power flow (SCOPF) problem in power systems. Power systems are first partitioned into sub-problems, which share common coupling power components. The proposed SCOPF algorithm is fundamentally a distributed computing algorithm, which optimizes power flow in each electrical bus. The output of the local optimization problem will be exchanged among neighboring buses for the overall solution for the whole power system. We performed the algorithm against a modified 14-bus power system and demonstrated that the method is competitive against the commercial products regarding the CPU computation time.

An improved projection algorithm was put forward in the process of segmentation of license plate characters. According to the feature that trough created by the projection of space between the second and third character was very stable, the trough was detected as the starting point for locating the left and right boundary of characters. According to the feature that the width of license plate characters was fixed, when one side of the boundary of characters was located, a value was jumped firstly and then the other side of the boundary was located by traditional projection algorithm. The experimental result shows that compared to traditional algorithm, improved projection algorithm is not sensitive to the noise of things at left and right sides of license plate. And it can correctly segment the Chinese character with left-right or left-center-right structure.

In this paper, the distributed containment control problem is studied for continuous-time fractional-order multi-agent systems. A distributed containment control protocol with nonlinear projection algorithm is designed for each follower. Besides, a novel approach is proposed to show the effectiveness of the proposed containment control protocol. The main idea is to obtain the L-1 interpolation approximation of the investigated system based on piecewise linear interpolation, and then by using the property of the convex hull and the Mittag-Leffler function, we demonstrate that by taking the distributed containment control protocol, all followers can converge to the convex hull spanned by multiple leaders asymptotically. Finally, a numerical simulation is implemented to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results.

Overset on viscous grid is an important application of overset grid method. The projection algorithm for viscous grid is a crucial algorithm of viscous grid overlapping and has been extended to the cell-centered system. Some special handling is done to enhance the robustness of the projection algorithm. A steady DLR-F6 wing body flow is performed, and good agreement of computational results with experimental data has been achieved, showing that this algorithm has a strong applicability to complex geometry.

The problem of hybrid multi-attribute decision making, which integrates with interval numbers and linguistic fuzzy numbers, and incomplete information on attribute weights, is studied. Based on the relative entropy weight and projection algorithm, a new method of hybrid multi-attribute decision making is presented. First of all, the definitions of closeness degree and relative entropy are given, and the method of transforming the interval numbers and linguistic fuzzy numbers into triangular fuzzy numbers is presented. Secondly, by solving a set of linear programming models whose goals are to maximize the closeness degree, a series of preference weight vectors which are partial for each alternative are obtained, and then the optimal weight vector is got by aggregating the preference weight vectors through establishing a relative entropy weight model. Thirdly, based on this optimal weight vector, the projection algorithm is presented to rank order for all alternatives. Finally, a decision making example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and rationality of this new method.

The low-carbon agenda promotes the increasing penetration of renewable energy, this however also results in a rapid decrease in the flexibility of power systems with less controllable generation. There is an urgent requirement to explore user-side resources to provide flexibility for the power system. The regional integrated energy system (RIES) contains a large number of multi-energy coupling devices with abundant flexibility. However, considering the multi-energy complementary characteristics and complex multi-energy networks, as well as the uncertainty of the renewable energy, it is difficult to quantify the energy purchasing demand and flexibility support ability of RIES in the market, making it challenging to identify the RIES feasible region. This paper proposes a novel approach to tackle this challenge by introducing a projection method based on secondorder cone programming. The approach aims to describe the energy purchasing and flexible reserve feasible regions of an RIES. Specifically, a max-min RIES operating model is constructed with the goal of minimizing the distance from the boundary of the feasible region in the worst case. Subsequently, the strong duality principle and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions are leveraged to reformulate the max-min optimization problem into a solvable second-order cone programming problem. Additionally, the chance constraint is introduced to address and express the risk associated the uncertainty of the renewable energy output in RIES. Moreover, for the convenience of subsequent solving, the deterministic equivalent method is used to convert it into a deterministic constraint. Case studies conducted on an RIES incorporating a 33-bus distribution network and a 7-node natural gas network demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach in projecting the feasible region in terms of both operating costs and computational time.
