(1) In cognitive radio systems, the accuracy of spectrum sensing depends on the received primary signal strength at the secondary user (SU). In fact, a single node sensing would be compromised if the received signal strength is not high enough to be detected by this node. In this paper, we propose a cooperative decision fusion rule based on adaptive linear combiner. The weights which correspond to confidence levels affected to SUs, are determined adaptively using the Normalized Least Mean Squares (NLMS) and the Recursive Mean Squares (rls) algorithms. The proposed algorithms combine the SUs decisions with the adaptive confidence levels to track the surrounding environment. Simulation results show a high adaptability of the proposed scheme, as the operating conditions change. Furthermore, the proposed algorithms do not necessitate a prior knowledge about the PU features and are very efficient compared to conventional decision fusion techniques.

In this paper proposes an adaptive equalizer using Laguerre transversal filter and a rls algorithm for adaptation in DS-CDMA mobile communication systems. The Laguerre structure is compromise between the FIR and IIR structures, since the Laguerre structure is always stable. We also analyze the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed equalizer and the conventional equalizer. The simulation results show that the performances of the proposed equalizer are better than the conventional equalizer, such as fast convergence and lower BER than the conventional adaptive equalizer for every E-b / N-0, value.

This paper will analyse the rls algorithm and its improved algorithms, QRD-rls and IQRD-rls algorithms. QRD-rls and IQRD-rls algorithms can reduce the complexity of rls algorithm effectively. Then, we apply these three algorithms in MIMO-OFDM system, and we do some simulations on these three algorithms. From the simulation, we can see that the performance of the QRD-rls and IQRD-rls algorithms is better than rls algorithm.

This paper examines the performance of an adaptive linear array employing the new RLMS algorithm, which consists of a recursive least square (rls) section followed by a least mean square (LMS) section. The performance measures used are output and input signal-to-interference plus noise ratios (SINR), side lobe level (SLL), and Delta SINRo, as a function of the direction of arrival of the interfering signal. Computer simulation results show that the performance of RLMS is superior to either the rls or LMS based on these measures, particularly when operating with low input SINR.

Online parameter estimation plays an important role in the design of fault-tolerant flight control systems. In this paper, we present a new parameter estimation technique for the reduced parameter LPV (Linear parameter-varying system) model with aircraft structural damage. Specifically, an LPV model is proposed for the modeling of the damaged aircraft, and prior information is introduced to simplify the model, then an rls (Recursive Least squares)-based parameter estimation method is designed. By employing the proposed LPV model, it not only reduces the online computational load significantly compared with that of typical existing methods but also improves the estimation performance based on reducing the parameters to be estimated. At last, the closed-loop simulation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration generic transport model under a left-wing tip damage scenario is given.

in this paper we focusing on decoupled power control with rotor energy recovery of double fed induction generator in a wind energy conversion system, by applying a predictive algorithm to derive a matrix converter (MC), which interfaces the DFIG rotor to the grid. A field oriented control (FOC) of the DFIG was realised to derive commutation signals for the MC, which feeds the rotor circuit instead of the conventional back to back converter. Two important aims when using predictive algorithm, the first one is to reduce the number of controller in the chain and the second aim is to simplify the control strategy of the MC for allowing the unity power factor functioning with hypo and hyper synchronous regimes. Performed simulation results are obtained in the Matlab environment and unity power factor is kipped during the operation.

An important tool in the field of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) is parameter identification, which allows for final stage inspection, adaptive control and condition monitoring. Common identification approaches require the PMSM to be mounted into a test-bench with encoders, which is complicated or not possible for some machines. In order to address this issue, this work combines a Recursive Least-Squares based parameter identification algorithm with the sensorless control technique Direct Flux Observer (DFO). The developed identification technique is implemented on a microcontroller and experimental results on different kind of PMSMs are shown and discussed.

We proposed and analyze the use of adaptive feedforward controllers based on discrete-time FIR filters to enhance the performance of voltage and current class-D amplifiers to be used in protective relay testing. The feedforward controller compensates for inherent frequency response distortions, allowing the compound system to conduct tests with signal components from DC up to the 50th harmonic. We investigate the use of both, the LMS and the rls algorithms to estimate the parameters of the feedforward controller for different relay burdens. Results concerning convergence rates of the controller parameters and temporal response for ATP-like transient waveforms for use in protective relay tests are presented.

In this paper, Filtering based Recursive Least Square (F-rls) algorithm is used to track the MIMO channel in the presence of spatially and temporally correlated interference. Here interference signal is considered as noise whose auto correlation function is a non-diagonal matrix(color noise). The LS technique gives biased estimate for color noise. So filtering based LS technique is used to give unbiased estimate for the above scenario. Considering the time varying nature of the system, filtering based rls algorithm is used to track the channel. The tracking capability of this algorithm is measured in terms of Average Mean Square Error (MSE). Simulation result also supports the tracking capability of the algorithm for fixed channel and time varying channel in the presence of interference.

Technological influence on society has made man to depend more on human computer interactions in his day to day life. Removal of unwanted and rebound of sound from speech signal is must to enhance the clarity of the voice in such interactions. A novel frequency domain adaptive algorithm to eliminate rebound sound effect in speech signal inside an auditorium is presented here. The forgetting Factor (lambda) on which steadiness of adaptive algorithm depends is kept constant in the suggested rls algorithm. To enhance the computational power and confluence rate, a frequency domain dynamic filter algorithm is often utilized in abolishment of acoustic feedback. However, the correct step size is always an adjustment between the confluence rate and the stable-state performance. To solve this problem, Nitsch adapted a varying step-size procedure, where the step size is modified by spectral confluence state. A novel methodology to estimate the optimal step size is the subject of this paper. In addition, an artificial delay is inserted in the way of signal to estimate the time-domain system mismatch. Both flat stable-state misadjustment and quick confluence are achieved by the designed algorithm. Simulation results exhibit the effectiveness and the sturdiness of the designed method. At last, MATLAB is used to execute suggested algorithm and the experimentation outcomes demonstrated that the suggested average rls and optimal step size is compared.
