Fused deposition molding is an advanced kind of rapid prototyping technology. On the accuracy of the forming process, the research on the temperature of the molding material is based on the analysis of the forming parameters. The influence of the tenlperature of the molding material on the specimen is reasonably described by the actual forming part and the finite element analysis model. The experimental results show that the temperatur( of the molding material is less affected by the temperature of the molding material in a certain range. This will lay the theoretical foundation for the formation of the molding technology in the future

Centrifuge shaker is deemed as one of the most advanced and effective experiment equipment in geotechnical anti-earthquake field. In this paper, we pay close attention to three key technical issues encountered in the construction process of Chinese largest uniaxial centrifuge shaker, including the dynamic coupling characteristic between light-flexible base, hydraulic power element and soil model, and the influence of centrifuge vibration synthesis environment to three stage servovalve's dynamic performance, as well as the servo control strategy aiming at better control performance. For these three issues, relevant research achievements of other scholars and our original efforts are briefly overviewed. Finally, the mechanical and hydraulic system, electronic control system, software system of the centrifuge shaker prototype is reported in detail.

Improving part quality during rapidprototyping is the important problem. The part errors during rapidprototyping is classified in dimension error, shaped error and roughness of surface. The shaped errors have many forms in fused deposition modeling (FDM), largely including warpage deformation, stair-stepping effect, and so on. Objective: Opportunities for developing procedural skills are progressively rare. Therefore, sophisticated educational tools are highly warranted. Methods: This study compared stereolithography and 3-dimensional printing for simulating cerebral aneurysm surgery. The latter jets multiple materials simultaneously and thus has the ability to print assemblies of multiple materials with different features. The authors created the solid skull and the cerebral vessels in different materials to simulate the real aneurysm when clipped. Results: Precise plastic replicas of complex anatomical data provide intuitive tactile views that can be scrutinized from any perspective. Hollowed out vessel sections allow serial clipping efforts, evaluation of different clips, and clip positions. The models can be used for accurate prediction of vascular anatomy, for optimization of teaching surgical skills, for advanced procedural competency training, and for patient counseling. Conclusion: Simultaneous 3-dimensional printing is the most promising rapidprototyping technique to produce biomodels that meet the high demands of neurovascular surgery.

This work deals with the problem of casting production from high-aluminum cast iron Al22D. This cast iron is characterized by unique combination of properties [1-3]: high heat-resistance in corrosive gases medium especially containing sulfurous gases;relatively low density in comparison with gray iron and satisfactory mechanical properties. In addition, castings made from high aluminum cast iron Al22D are required in many areas of mechanical engineering. However, obtaining high-quality products from this cast iron is a particular problem due to its low-casting properties, especially its high tendency to gas saturation, oxidization and forming scabs, shrinkage and gas-shrinkage defects. Therefore, the aim of this work is the study of the castings feeding parameters. In addition, the technology of "exhaust manifold" casting of internal combustion engine designed to work in forced mode was developed on the basis of the obtained results.

rapid tooling developed from the rapid prototyping technology is a new method and technology of mold making, and this paper mainly studies the composite aluminum-filled epoxy (CAFE) mold, which is one of the rapid bridge toolings, applied to thermoforming of the plastic parts. The material formula of the CAFE mold with E51 as matrix is developed, and using the formula we have made the CAFE mold for the back shell of a cell phone charger, which is installed at the injection molding machine to do the test and finally successfully obtain the polypropylene sample. In addition, the process of making the CAFE mold is described in detail in the paper.
