Compressive Sensing (CS) reduces sampling data at the cost of increased signal reconstruction time. This problem has been addressed by a different set of algorithmic approaches under various realistic assumptions. Graphical Processing Units (GPU), Multicore architectures, distributed cloud computing are among technologies used to speed up data intensive and compute intensive algorithms. In this study, state of the art sample reconstruction algorithms (SRA) have been presented and surveyed. Opportunities to speed up their performances using parallel & distributed computing platforms have been also investigated and summarized. Finally, the study concludes with a detailed list of project ideas for further developments of these algorithms.

This paper presents an experimental analysis aimed at analyzing the performance of several reconstruction algorithms applied to the recovery of ECG signals from compressed sensing, when a dynamic sensing matrix is used. The manuscript briefly recalls the method used to build the sensing matrix and the adopted reconstruction algorithms. The results obtained from the compression and recovery of signals taken from the MIT Physionet database are shown and discussed and they are compared with those obtained with another combination of sensing and dictionary matrices.

Polar periodicities associated with the Radon transform and Lagrange multipliers are studies to obtain the sample/ recovery relationships. By considering a window function, which is zero outside the object boundaries and inside its transparent areas, a Fourier domain algorithm is introduced in which the Lagrange multipliers are determined using the window as a constraint. By expressing the backprojection image using the basis function of the projection transform a reconstruction model for fan beam projections is given. A very fast, iterative, space domain algorithm for divergent ray projections is introduced which gives the minimum energy reconstruction by exploiting a special matrix structure; this method matches the noise statistics and can utilise 'a priori' knowledge.

For the non-linear characteristic and "soft filed" feature of electrical capacitance tomography system, in this paper, based on the analysis of neural network basic algorithm principles, optimizes parameters in the activation function and error function for BP network are optimized. The simulation experiment shows that the learning speed and convergence rate of the BP network has been improved. It brings many excellent capacities for the new reconstruction algorithm such as fast image reconstructing, easy system implementing and strong noise resisting etc, and it supplies a new idea for electrical capacitance tomography image reconstructing.

A new algorithm is presented for reconstructing hv-convex polyominoes and hv-convex 8-connected discrete sets. A systematic comparison is done to compare this method with two other methods; one of them has the best known worst case complexity and the other one has the best known average time complexity. From the experimental comparisons, it turned out that the new algorithm summarizes the good properties of the two other algorithms.

Two algorithms for image reconstruction in electromagnetic imaging are proposed. The first approach concerns the application of a hybrid version of the genetic algorithm to tomographic imaging of dielectric configurations. In the second approach, buried inhomogeneities are schematized as multilayer infinite dielectric cylinders with elliptic cross sections. An efficient recursive analytical procedure is used for the forward scattering computation. A cost function is constructed in which the field is expressed in a series solution of Mathieu functions. Starting with the input scattered data, the iterative minimization of the function is performed by a new optimization method called a memetic algorithm.

With the rapid development of computer vision technology, automatic image detection technology has become more and more important in various fields. This paper focuses on the reconstruction algorithm in computer image automatic detection technology, and puts forward innovative solutions to the limitations of the existing technology. In this paper, SRCNN (super-resolution convolutional neural network) algorithm is selected, and compared with bilinear interpolation and SRGAN (super-resolution generation countermeasure network) algorithm. The experimental results show that the image quality reconstruction of SRCNN algorithm is obviously higher than the other two algorithms, and the maximum PSNR is 60 and the minimum is 41. The calculation efficiency is also higher. The above research results provide new research possibilities for image reconstruction technology in the fields of medical imaging and industrial inspection.

We investigate the use of a frequency-domain reconstruction algorithm based on the nonuniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT) for photoacoustic imaging (PAI). Standard algorithms based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT) are computationally efficient, but compromise the image quality by artifacts. In our previous work we have developed an algorithm for PAI based on the NUFFT which is computationally efficient and can reconstruct images with the quality known from temporal backprojection algorithms. In this paper we review imaging qualities, such as resolution, signal-to-noise ratio, and the effects of artifacts in real-world situations. reconstruction examples show that artifacts are reduced significantly. In particular, image details with a larger distance from the detectors can be resolved more accurately than with standard FFT algorithms. Purpose: Radiomics analysis of oncologic positron emission tomography (PET) images is an area of significant activity and potential. The reproducibility of radiomics features is an important consideration for routine clinical use. This preliminary study investigates the robustness of radiomics features in PSMA-PET images across penalized-likelihood (***) and standard ordered subset expectation maximization (OSEM) reconstruction algorithms and their setting parameters in phantom and prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Method: A NEMA image quality (IQ) phantom and 8 PCa patients were selected for phantom and patient analyses, respectively. PET images were reconstructed using *** (reconstruction beta-value: 100-700, at intervals of 100 for both NEMA IQ phantom and patients) and OSEM (duration: 15sec, 30sec, 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 4 min and 5 min for NEMA phantom and duration: 30 s, 1 min and 2 min for patients) reconstruction methods. Subsequently, 129 radiomic features were extracted from the reconstructed images. The coefficient of variation (COV) of each feature across reconstruction methods and their parameters was calculated to determine feature robustness. Results: The extracted radiomics features showed a different range of variability, depending on the reconstruction algorithms and setting parameters. Specifically, 23.0 % and 53.5 % of features were found as robust against beta-value variations in *** and different durations in OSEM reconstruction algorithms, respectively. Taking into account the two algorithms and their parameters, eleven features (8.5 %) showed COV <= 5 % and eighteen (14 %) showed 5 % 20 %.
