Securely implementable social choice rules with partially honest agents

We study a social choice model with partially honest agents, and we show that strategy-proofness is a necessary and sufficient condition to achieve secure implementation. This result provides a behavioral foundation for the rectangularity property;and it offers as a by-product a revelation principle for secure implementation with partial honesty. We apply the implementation concept to a single-crossing voting environment, and we prove that it characterizes, in combination with unanimity, the family of augmented representative voter schemes. ISO 11090-1: 2014 specifies, with reference to ISO 230?1 and ISO 230?2, geometric and machining tests and tests for checking accuracy and repeatability of numerically controlled positioning axes for normal accuracy and general-purpose die sinking electro-discharge machines (die sinking EDM). It also specifies the applicable tolerances corresponding to the above-mentioned tests. ISO 11090-1: 2014is also applicable to single-column machines of cross-slide table type and fixed table type. ISO 11090-1: 2014deals only with the verification of accuracy of the machine. It does not apply to the testing of the machine operation (vibrations, abnormal noises, stick-slip motion of components, etc.) or to the checking of its characteristics (such as speeds, feeds, etc.), which should generally be checked before the testing of the accuracy. ISO 11090-1: 2014provides the terminology used for the principal components of the machine and the designation of the axes with reference to ISO 841:2001. NOTE In addition to the terms used in the official ISO languages (English and French), Annex A of this part of ISO 11090 gives the equivalent terms in the Dutch, German, Italian, Swedish, Persian, and Japanese languages. These are published under the responsibility of the national member bodies for Netherlands (NEN), Germany (DIN), Italy (UNI), Sweden (SIS), Iran (ISIRI), and Japan (JISC). However, only the terms given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms.

A new automated static optical image analysis (SOIA) method was developed for characterising the shape of sodium oxalate crystals by separately measuring their length and width. The automated size analysis combines crystal image acquisitioning with a custom-developed numerical algorithm for morphological analysis of crystals. The automation of the two main measuring steps enables characterisation of a large number of crystals ensuring statistically meaningful results. As part of the numerical algorithm, a rectangularity-based morphological filter was implemented to eliminate overlapping crystals and crystal networks. The developed optical sizing technique has a low detection limit of 0.25 mu m, which is close to the theoretical resolution of optical microscopy. It is demonstrated that the new automated SOIA sizing technique is very sensitive in identifying oxalate crystals of different shape. The measured crystal size distributions are compared to those obtained by an AccuSizer sizing instrument to confirm that they are consistent with the measurements obtained by a conventional crystal sizing instrument. A new spectral-spatial method for classification of hyperspectral images is proposed. The HSegClas method is based on the integration of probabilistic classification and shape analysis within the hierarchical step-wise optimization algorithm. First, probabilistic support vector machines classification is applied. Then, at each iteration two neighboring regions with the smallest Dissimilarity Criterion (DC) are merged, and classification probabilities are recomputed. The important contribution of this work consists in estimating a DC between regions as a function of statistical, classification and geometrical (area and rectangularity) features. Experimental results are presented on a 102-band ROSIS image of the Center of Pavia, Italy. The developed approach yields more accurate classification results when compared to previously proposed methods.
