I. INTRODUCTION In the road traffic control system, the importance of acquisition for the road traffic state is increasing. In order to obtain the traffic state accurately, sensors have played a major role in this respect. Further development of intelligent transportation system requires that sensors can be constructed to reconfigurable sensor networks which adapt to a variety of application service requirements [1]. This paper constructs a wireless sensor network for road traffic state acquisition (WSNRTSA) to obtain traffic information from different angles based on geomagnetic sensors. It obtains continuous traffic state information from regional multi-angle and multi-level and improves traffic management gradually.

This paper presents an intelligent autonomous parking system with Hybrid Fuzzy controllers (HFCs). The system enables intelligent vehicles to perform slot detection, parallel and vertical parking in a completely unmanned environment. The HFC, constituting of a Base Fuzzy controller (BFC) and a Supervisory Fuzzy controller (SFC), optimizes the control logic to counteract external disturbances in parking process by implementing additional fuzzy rule base. Customized HFCs are designed for critical steps in parking, namely turning control and posture stabilization. As a result, more accurate and efficient parking is achieved even when there are uncertainties in vehicle length and friction. Simulated experiments are carried out in MATLAB to verify the robustness of new HFCs and to demonstrate the performance improvement compared with the previous Fuzzy-Based Onboard System (FBOS).

traffic control and management is an important factor in related with development of urban. A smart city comprises of smart health care, smart environment, smart home and smart road transportation system. For all these modernizations both artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) take major parts in smart operation. By using hybrid sensors, the traffic light systems can be triggered depending on the measured volume of traffic, including temporary deactivation of the traffic lights when roads are quiet. The traffic data collected with the hybrid technology is then used to analyse and control traffic volumes. The radar technology for traffic monitoring applications include traffic light controls, speed enforcement, traffic monitoring and traffic classification. Therefore, this proposal suggests exploring design and prototype model and utilize the model for appropriate road traffic monitoring and management system. The objectives of the proposed system are to reduce traffic congestion, to count traffic flow, to classify the traffic, to provide green environment by reducing air-pollution generated by vehicles, to provide safety for stakeholders (pedestrians and driver and passengers) and to forecast traffic flow.

In this papaer, we consider on-road vehicle localization with the global positioning system (GPS) under long term failure of a vision sensor. When the output of vision sensor is not available due to its malfunction and/or environmental conditions, it is necessary for the lateral control system to maintain its stability before the driver takes over control authority. We propose how to estimate lane coefficients with GPS data and the latest normal lane coefficients in the presence of failure. This lane estimation method enables the lane keeping system to keep its stability. The developed algorithm was validated via computational simulation results with CarSim and MATLAB/Simulink. We also included experimental results with a test vehicle equipped with an AutoBox from dSPACE.

The aim of this paper is to give a review on the car covers from distant areas to provide protection to car from rain and hailing. Here, we mentioned many technologies used till now for protection and how we have taken an automation system to protect car by using IOT based system attached with a mobile application which will operate the whole system. The sheet will cover the whole car within seconds after having the command from remote areas. The cover is attached with the car itself. Construction of this automation has been described as the combined use of mechanical and electronic systems to achieve automatic operation or control to reduce problems. This paper briefly describes the problem observed during night when people forgot to cover their cars and how our device would help them to solve these problems.

In this work, a micro-controller-based model for the real-world traffic light system has been designed using ARM Cortex M4 launchpad micro-controller ( TM4 C123) along with Keil uVision5 computing platform to ensure the safe traffic flow and minimize accidents for the ground vehicles. The proposed controller assumes exactly two traffic lights for the intersection of two equally busy one-way streets: the north-bound ( N) and east-bound ( E) light signals. To develop the proposed system, six light emitting diodes ( LEDs) has been used to model bound signals where each signal composed of red ( R), yellow ( Y) and green ( G) LEDs. Also, to turn on the whole system, one push-button (or sensor) was used to operate the system in the normal mode operation that repeatedly following the sequence: ⟨ N R , E G ⟩ ≪ delay ≫ ⟨ N Y , E G ⟩ ≪ delay ≫ ⟨ N G , E R ⟩ ≪ delay ≫ ⟨ N Y , E R ⟩ ≪ delay ≫ ⟨ N R , E G ⟩. Moreover, to maintain the case of a stormy day, another push-button (or sensor) has been added to switch the traffic light system to run in an emergency mode that keep flashing ⟨ N Y , E R ⟩. However, later button will not be activated unless the whole system turned ON by the former button. Eventually, the implementation testing results showed that the developed traffic light controller was successful and efficiently designed to ensure the proper and safe functionality that organize the traffic flow and avoid accidents.

Over the last few years, finding vacant parking spaces has become a hassle for drivers especially in crowded cities. This problem leads to wasting drivers' time, traffic congestion, and air pollution. Recently, smart parking systems aim to address this problem by enabling drivers to have real-time parking information about vacant parking spaces. However, the existing parking systems rely on a central third party to organize the service, which makes them subject to a single point of failure and privacy breach concerns by both internal and external attackers. In this paper, we propose a secure smart parking system using blockchain technology. Specifically, a consortium blockchain is made of parking lots to ensure security, transparency, and availability of the parking system. Then, to protect the drivers' location privacy, we use cloaking technique to hide the drivers' locations. The blockchain validators return available parking offers with in the cloaked area. Finally, the driver selects the best offer and makes reservation directly with the parking lot. Evaluations are conducted to evaluate the proposed scheme, and results indicate practicality of our scheme.

The Rapidly-exploring Random Tree (RRT) is a classical algorithm of motion planning based on incremental sampling, which is widely used to solve the planning problem of mobile robots. But it, due to the meandering path, the inaccurate terminal state and the slow exploration, is often inefficient in many applications such as autonomous road vehicles. To address these issues and considering the realistic context of autonomous road vehicles, this paper proposes a fast RRT algorithm that introduces an off-line template set based on the traffic scenes and an aggressive extension strategy of search tree. Both improvements can lead to a faster and more accurate RRT towards the goal. Meanwhile, our approach combines the closed-loop prediction approach using the model of vehicle, which can smooth the portion of off-line template and the portion of on-line tree generated, while a trajectory and control sequence for the vehicle would be obtained. Experimental results illustrate that our method is fast and efficient in solving planning queries of autonomous road vehicle in urban environments.

This paper focuses on the design of a model based methodology to optimize lane change maneuvers based on the predictions of neighboring agents. In particular, the dynamics of vehicles are modeled as double integrators, and the lane change actions are indicated by boolean variables while neglecting the lane change dynamics. The objective of the optimal control is to minimize the travel time, maintain saftey distances between the target vehicle and neighboring ones, satisfy the operational constraints of the target vehicle, and comply with the speed limit. The control problem is formulated as a mixed logic dynamic system, and solved by Cplex, a commercial mixed integer optimization solver. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated by two simulated scenarios in this paper.

Platooning technology is sufficiently ready that trials can be undertaken on live roads given suitable preparations and safeguards. The performance of the technology, in practice, is not well characterised and so the business case has yet to be developed. The UK can take a lead with a trial of heavy vehicle platooning; this is essential to ascertain real-world benefits. This would be subject to policy decisions. A range of organisational, legal and human factors issues need to be explored before full deployment and some need to be addressed in advance of any road trial.
