Carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions have become an important factor limiting the high-quality development of the Chinese steel *** achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality,the strategic planning and technological layout of low-carbon development have been carried out by the Chinese steel industry and *** on the summary and analysis of the technology roadmap of low-carbon development in the steel industry and an evaluation of the current research progress of low-carbon technologies,the prospects for the low-carbon development of the steel industry in the future were *** results indicate that some steel enterprises in China have already released their low-carbon development roadmaps with a focus on achieving carbon neutrality,which will be realized through advancements in system energy efficiency improvement,resource recycling,process optimization and innovation,breakthrough in smelting technology,product iteration and upgrading,and carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS).The technology development of hydrogen metallurgy and CCUS has shown rapid *** the future,the Chinese steel industry must continue to prioritize low-carbon technology and promote the utilization of clean *** ratio of electric arc furnace steel should be increased gradually,and the development and application of CCUS technology should be promoted,to ensure the achievement of the“carbon peak and carbon neutrality”goal.

Therapeutic biology encompasses different modalities, and their manufacturing processes may be vastly different. However, there are many similarities that run across the different modalities during the drug product (DP) development process and manufacturing. Similarities include the need for Quality Target Product Profile (QTTP), analytical development, formulation development, container/closure studies, drug product process development, manufacturing and technical requirements set out by numerous regulatory documents such as the FDA, EMA, and ICH for pharmaceuticals for human use and other country specific requirements. While there is a plethora of knowledge on studies needed for development of a drug product, there is no specific guidance set out in a phase dependent manner delineating what studies should be completed in alignment with the different phases of clinical development from pre -clinical through commercialization. Because of this reason, we assembled a high-level drug product development and manufacturing roadmap. The roadmap is applicable across the different modalities with the intention of providing a unified framework from early phase development to commercialization of biologic drug products. In fault diagnosis, machine learning theories are gaining popularity as they proved to be an efficient tool that not only reduces human effort but also identifies the health conditions of the machines automatically. In this work, an attempt has been made to systematically review the progress of machine learning theories in fault diagnosis from scratch to future perspectives. Initially, artificial intelligence came into the picture which started to weaken the human effort whose efficiency relies on feature extraction which depends on expert knowledge. The introduction of deep learning theories has reformed the fault diagnosis process by realising the artificial aid, encouraging end-to-end encryption in the diagnostic procedure. The deep learning theories have also filled the gap between the large amount of monitoring data and the health conditions of industrial machines. The future of deep learning theories i.e. transfer learning which uses the knowledge of one domain to another related domain during fault diagnosis has been reviewed. In last, the research trends of the machine learning theories have been briefly discussed along with their challenges in fault diagnostics.

Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity for Organizations: Barriers and roadmap

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to optimize and automate the cybersecurity processes in organizations and provide decision support to security analysts. While the benefits offered by AI in cybersecurity are considerable, many organizations still struggle to implement it. This study helps closing this gap by conducting a thorough analysis of the main barriers to the adoption of AI-enhanced cybersecurity solutions in organizations. The barriers are identified through a literature review of existing research and classified using the TOE (Technical, Organizational, and Environmental) framework. A coherent roadmap for addressing these barriers and successfully implementing the solutions is also presented. The study provides practitioners with valuable insights into the key barriers that inhibit AI in cybersecurity adoption at the organization level and helps organizations to prepare for adoption and make informed decisions to accelerate the adoption process.

Sustainability of the pharmaceutical industry is a topic of growing interest. One central aspect in this regard is the reduction of waste in supply chains. Driven by the European Directive on packaging waste, companies are obliged to significantly reduce waste production by implementing innovative circular economy solutions. The concept of Returnable Transport Items (RTIs) appears promising in replacing one-way parcels, which contribute to the increasing production of waste considerably. Successful RTI implementation depends on the establishment of robust reverse logistics processes. The associated challenges could be largely solved by the integration with smart technologies, which requires multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement and alignment of strategic thinking. This article provides a roadmap towards circular economies in pharma logistics based on RTI solutions enhanced with "Industry 4.0" technologies. As part of the roadmap, analyses of selected pharma supply processes are presented, which suggest the economic feasibility of implementing RTIs in specific logistics usecase scenarios.

This report, the second of its kind from ASINA project, aims at providing a roadmap with quantitative metrics for Safe(r) and (more) Sustainable by Design (SSbD) solutions for titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanomaterials (NMs). We begin with a brief description of ASINA's methodology across the product lifecycle, highlighting the quantitative elements, such as the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). We then propose a decision support tool for implementing SSbD objectives across various dimensions-functionality, cost, environment, and human health safety. This is followed by the main innovative findings, a consolidation of the technical processes involved, design rationales, experimental procedures, tools and models, used and developed, to deliver photocatalytic depolluting surfaces by spray- finishing techniques based on TiO2 NMs formulations. The roadmap is thoroughly described to inform similar projects through the integration of KPIs into SSbD methodologies, fostering data-driven decisionmaking. While specific results are beyond this report's scope, its primary aim is to demonstrate the roadmap (SSbD know-how) and promote SSbD-oriented innovation in nanotechnology. Finally, we provide a comparison of the approaches followed in two case studies that target different industrial sectors. This case-specific SSbD assessments provide a concrete exemplification of the addressed methodology that contributes to the efforts towards attaining a common roadmap for implementing SSbD solutions aligned with the EU's Green Deal objectives.

The Digital REadiness Assessment MaturitY (DREAMY) framework to guide manufacturing companies towards a digitalisation roadmap

Digital technologies are considered the main drivers for the transformation of the manufacturing industry. To effectively navigate this wave of transformation, companies need to understand their current maturity state regarding implemented technologies and organisational processes across various functions. However, many organisations struggle to assess their digital status quo. Addressing this gap, this paper proposes a framework to help manufacturing companies become aware of their digital maturity level and guide them toward a digitalisation roadmap. The framework consists of a maturity model, the Digital Readiness Assessment MaturitY (DREAMY), inspired by the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), and a digitalisation roadmap tool. The research follows the design research methodology, combining a literature review, expert consultations, and validation through multiple industrial cases to develop, test, and refine the framework. The proposed framework enables companies to assess their current digital maturity, identify strengths and weaknesses, and discover opportunities for improvement, supporting a conscious transition toward Industry 4.0 and the forthcoming Industry 5.0 paradigm.

The myriad consumption of plastic regularly, environmental impact and health disquietude of humans are at high risk. Microplastics (MPs) represent a contemporary type of contamination that has permeated several environmental areas. MP pollution is already widespread in marine environments, leading to increased awareness over the past few decades. Multiple studies are being conducted to determine the source of MPs and their harmful impacts on marine life and, ultimately, human health. Thus, this paper rigorously analyzed the origin, accumulation, and detrimental impacts of MPs on the marine ecosystem. An increase in the death rate, a decrease in the rate of growth, and a reduction in the quantity of food ingested were the primary changes that occurred in marine organisms. The hydrophobic properties of MPs enable them to facilitate the formation of biofilms, which are referred to as the plastisphere. These biofilms have the capacity to transport chemicals that are frequently hazardous and may potentially infiltrate the food chain. The coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly exacerbated the plastic and MP contamination in coastal and marine environments as a result of the improper management of personal protective equipment and explosive production. The most recent developments in environmental DNA (eDNA) are valuable tools for the detection and tracking of MP contamination in coastal and marine ecosystems. These technologies offer greater sensibility, efficacy, and involvement in the process. There are several measures and attempts that must be taken to address the MP pollution issues in the marine environment. The knowledge gained from this review will serve as a foundation for future marine MP research and management techniques.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) plays a pivotal role in the digitization of facilities management (FM), fundamentally transforming the built environment sector. However, managing the change in organizations to successfully transition into a BIM-enabled FM system remains a significant challenge. To address this, this paper starts with a literature review of existing theories and practices of change management and digital transformation in the built environment sector. Based on the analysis of barriers and strategies identified in the literature review, a five-step roadmap for change management in BIM adoption is proposed. It includes establishing a change management team, conceptualizing the initiative, developing an implementation plan, managing the transition phase, and maintaining the change. The roadmap aims to guide organizations to effectively adopt BIM for FM, resulting in streamlined transition, enhanced operational efficiency, and improved asset performance. Further research is needed to validate the proposed roadmap and its potential for generalization to other sectors and countries.
