As an important complement to the terrestrial network and an essential component of the future 6G, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network is expected to provide higher-quality communication services in combination with terrestrial network and attracts widespread research interest. Since the unbalanced distribution of terrestrial services may lead to inter-satellite link (ISL) congestion, balancing the network load has become one of the key issues for LEO satellite networks. In order to prevent ISL congestion in LEO networks, we propose a multi-region division routing algorithm based on fuzzy-shortest-path-first (FSPF-MDR) for LEO satellite networks. We divide the satellite network into multiple small regions and share link information within the regions to achieve congestion avoidance. Simulation results show that, using the proposed algorithm, the computing complexity is reduced significantly with a slightly cost of increasing average hop count. Furthermore, it is able to achieve congestion prevention while using fewer resources. With different scales of LEO networks, the computing complexity can be reduced by 45% to 70%.

The performance of a two-tier LEO/MEO satellite network including inter-satellite links (ISL's) is analyzed. Specific emphasis is laid on the design of an ATM-based routing scheme for the ISL part of the system (MEO layer). The approach is to prepare a virtual topology by means of virtual path connections (VPC's) connecting all pairs of end nodes in the ISL sub-network for a complete period in advance, similar to implementing a set of (time dependent) routing tables. The search for available end-to-end routes within the ISL network is based on a new routing algorithm (S-DRA) integrates the advantages of Static routing and Dynamic routing. Additionally, a new quick clustering scheme is introduced to monitor the faults to guarantee the usability of VPC. The new algorithm guarantees that: 1) the survey of VPC route is not carried on blindly no longer because of the application of the clustering scheme, 2) the flow of control information is reduced, 3) whereas the channel of link is allowable, it can reduce handover frequency as much as possible. Finally, a simulation on MEO layer analyzes the performance of the new routing algorithm.

routing algorithms, which determine how to deliver traffic from the source to the destination, are essential for next-generation networks and the internet. To make optimal routing decisions in complex network environments, researchers have leveraged Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) to design next-generation routing mechanisms. However, most existing DRLbased routing algorithms are implemented using traditional Neural Networks (NN), which lack robustness against topology changes. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm called GAPPO, which integrates Graph Attention Network (GAT) and Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) to optimize routing policies with the objective of minimizing end-to-end (E2E) latency in networks affected by link failures. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we conduct a series of experiments on dynamically changing topologies with link failures under different loads. Experimental results demonstrate that GAPPO outperforms benchmark algorithms in both simulated and real-world networks, confirming its powerful robustness against link failures.

Considering the fast deployment and flexible networking abilities, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used as relay nodes for the emergency communication in disaster scenario. But the dynamic changing three-dimension (3D) topology of UAV network brings new challenges fir the robust and efficient routing algorithm selection. Therefore, a cube based space region partition (CSRP) routing algorithm is proposed to improve the quality of service (QoS) of UAV network. Furthermore, the 3D space is divided into several cubes which are selected as the optimal routing path for UAV network based on the connectivity among different UAVs. Finally, numerous results verify the performance of proposed routing algorithm, in terms of end-to-end average delay, delay jitter, and delivery ratio.

As the technology scales toward deeper submicron, system-on-chip designs have migrated from fairly simple single processor and memory designs to relatively complicated systems with higher communication requirements. Network-on-chip architectures emerged as promising solutions for future system-on-chip communication architecture designs. However, the switching and routing algorithm design of network-on-chip communication architectures are still facing great challenges. To address the deficiencies of the existing routing algorithms, a new deterministic network-on-chip routing algorithm: ZigZag routing algorithm is proposed in this paper. The specifics of the algorithm as well as the simulation results and analysis are also presented. For the proposed ZigZag algorithm, the X direction and Y direction distances are compared. The packets are sent in the direction with the greater distance until they become equal at which point, the packets sent alternates between the X direction and the Y direction until they reach their destination. Simulation of the proposed ZigZag routing algorithm and two existing routing algorithms have been carried out on NIRGAM network-on-chip simulator. Simulation results illustrate that the performance of the ZigZag routing algorithm matches or exceeds the performance of the existing routing algorithms.

Aimed at the lower access efficiency between administrative domains (AD) in NGN multimedia communication, we adopted the coding pattern for telephone number based on ITU-T E.164 protocol and the method in resolving process of DNS, and put forward a routing addressing algorithm for interdomain communication. This algorithm was based on quasi-homo-administrative domain (QHAD). It used H.225 Annex G protocol messages to exchange address templates between superior level and lower level ADs. Therefore, they could get real-time address information. And all level ADs could keep a routing table of all ancestors. When it initiated a call, it applied for resolving an address to the furthest quasi-homo-level ancestor directly. So the resolving process could be done in a comparatively smaller domain. By analyzing the algorithm performance and simulating the algorithm model, we find it can reduce the response delay of routing greatly. It can also decrease the using and traffic of communication channels. In addition, it has the same coding pattern for telephone number like PSTN. So it can realize the intercommunication between PSTN network and Internet easily.

The space segment of the navigation satellite constellation is a time-varying dynamic inter-satellite information network. This paper intends to address the routing design issues of dynamic inter-satellite networks. Firstly, we introduce two combinatorial routing strategies of hop-count and time factors by analyzing the characteristics of the dynamic transformation. Then considering the complexity of the routing algorithm under combinatorial strategies, we propose the Inter-Satellite routing algorithm by Searching the Global Neighborhood (ISRA-SGN), which is embedded into different routing strategies, leading to their corresponding routing algorithms. The computational results based on the simulation instance show that the proposed algorithms is effective and can be used to find the optimal routing path of different routing strategies. Especially, the ISRA-SGN embedded into the specific routing strategy has better performance than the Inter-Satellite routing algorithm without Searching the Global Neighborhood (ISRA).

With the rapid development of commercial space program, the constellations of low-orbit satellites continue to emerge. The use of satellite networks and terrestrial networks to construct a space-ground integrated network and provide users with seamlessly connected communication services has become a trend in the future. Due to the relative motion characteristics of satellites, existing routing technologies such as routing algorithms based on rule-based network topology can no longer meet the requirements for routing calculation in such a dynamic network topology. Based on the analysis of the routing strategies of existing typical satellite networks and the characteristics of satellite operation, this paper illustrates a multi-orbit hybrid satellite network routing algorithm based on detection and self-learning. The algorithm has a simple control process with high reliability. The simulation results show that the protocol has good network performance in terms of effective data transmission rate and data routing hops, and can support the design of routing protocols for multi-orbit mixed satellite networks.

The mobility of the nodes may cause route failures frequently in the SDN-based ad hoc networks. Routes interruption causes the Quality of Service (QoS) of the users can't be satisfied, as well as leading the performance of the wireless mobile network to degrade. In this paper, a QoS sensitive routing algorithm with link quality prediction in SDN-based ad hoc network (QSRLQP) is proposed. The algorithm includes two parts, which is link quality prediction based on XGBoost (LQPXGB) and routes generation based on minimum cost tree (RGMCT). LQPXGB uses the interior point method to optimize the leaf node score of each decision tree to further predict the link quality. RGMCT uses the minimum cost tree method to get the best route, which can achieve the highest packet delivery ratio (PDR) with guaranteed delay. The simulation results show that, compared with existing routing algorithm, QSRLQP achieves a significant performance improvement in terms of PDR, throughput and end-to-end delay.

The communication efficiency represents one of the key aspects in the future smart grid. Indeed, as the power distribution grid is being extended to fulfill increasing power demand population, recent advanced wireless communication standards and updates in the architecture of the distribution network have been introduced to upgrade the efficiency of data transmission and quality of service, enabling potential diversification of the power grid network depending on the operating environment. In this paper, we focus on wireless communications in the distribution trunk of the smart grid and propose an improved routing algorithm for wireless path selection to provide higher efficiency and reliability of communication. Comparison with existing schemes outline the potential benefits of introducing the proposing methodology.
