Least squares estimate method in parameter identification of hysteretic damping system on the application of ubiquitous computing efficiency is not high, or complicated calculation, calculation accuracy is not high, there is always the problem such as error or error approximation ability is limited. Similar problem happened when inversion analysis of the defect is done in a component torsion wave propagation model, how to get these related parameters quickly and precisely with a good inversion algorithm is the main work we want to do. In this paper, an intelligent algorithm called HABC - CS algorithm is proposed. By introducing chaos search and bacterial foraging algorithm, adaptive probability of Boltzman, strengthen the ability of bacteria foraging behaviour, to speed up the global convergence of bees, improve the accuracy of solution to solve the existed problems of the least squares estimation method. Through the function test platform, the reliability of the HABC - CS algorithm is verified. And through the viscous damping system as an example, the runge-kutta algorithm is used to get the simulation data, and then the proposed algorithm is applied to identifying the parameters of hysteretic damping system. At last, the detailed process of parameter identification and the identification result of parameter identification of hysteretic damping system is given in this article.

Calculation of eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville equation for simulating hydrodynamic soliton generated by a piston wave maker

This paper focuses on the mathematical study of the existence of solitary gravity waves (solitons) and their characteristics (amplitude, velocity,...) generated by a piston wave maker lying upstream of a horizontal channel. The mathematical model requires both incompressibility condition, irrotational flow of no viscous fluid and Lagrange coordinates. By using both the inverse scattering method and a given initial potential f0(r), we can transform the KdV equation into Sturm-Liouville spectral problem. The latter problem amounts to find negative discrete eigenvalues lambda and associated eigenfunctions lambda, where each calculated eigenvalue lambda gives a soliton and the profile of the free surface. For solving this problem, we can use the runge-kutta method. For illustration, two examples of the wave maker movement are proposed. The numerical simulations show that the perturbation of wave maker with hyperbolic tangent displacement under physical conditions affect the number of solitons emitted.

Analytical Study of Periodic Solutions on Perturbed Equatorial Two-Body Problem

This paper presents analytical derivations to study periodic solutions for the two-body problem perturbed by the first zonal harmonic parameter. In particular, three different semianalytical approaches to solve this problem have been studied: (1) the classic perturbation theory, (2) the Lindstedt-Poincare technique, and (3) the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky method. In addition, the numerical integration by runge-kutta algorithm is established. However, the numerical comparison tests show that by increasing the value of angular momentum the solutions provided by Lindstedt-Poincare and Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky methods become similar, and they provide almost identical results using a smaller value for the perturbed parameter which quantify the dynamical flattening of the main body, the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky provides more accurate results to design elliptical periodic solutions than Lindstedt-Poincare technique when the perturbed parameter has a relatively large value, regardless of the value of angular momentum. This study can be applied to equatorial orbits to obtain closed-form analytical solutions.

Electrical double-layer capacitors diagnosis using least square estimation method

This paper deals with the electrical double-layer capacitor's (EDLC) aging diagnosis for electric and hybrid vehicles. It has been shown in the literature that the aging of EDLCs is related to the constraints undergone by the component such as EDLC voltage (V-sc) combined with the operating temperature. The results of several studies show that the best indicators of the EDLCs aging are the capacitance and the equivalent series resistance. Some experimental methods allow the identification of these parameters but they are time consuming and cannot be embedded. This study presents a new method to estimate the EDLC parameters using least square algorithm based on data measurements of input/output of the system. In order to perform the aging test, a test bench is developed. EDLCs are aged at constant temperature and constant voltage. They are placed inside a climatic chamber at 70 degrees C and polarized at 2.9 V during the aging process. To quantify the EDLC aging, the equivalent series resistance and the equivalent capacitance are measured. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

There has been considerable interest in digital chaotic communication over the past several years. In fact, researches in the application of chaos in communication have been greatly motivated. Therefore, the chaos theory has exceeded the stage of the laboratory simulations. The realization of chaos is based on Matlab/Simulink for algorithm design because of the complex algorithm and huge computation. But this method is not optimal since it uses the third party tools because as we approach the machine language as it is optimal and better. The results show that our method can generate chaos sequence correctly with a much convenient realization.

Nonlinearity of power system is always one of the difficulties when dealing with dynamic simulation of power systems. Solving differential-algebraic equations representing power systems are difficult without losing nonlinearity, especially for large power systems. This thesis shows an alternative method to solve nonlinear dynamical power system by producing a purely differential representation of the power systems. This new representation converts the algebraic equations to differential equations in order to have an absolute differential system. By using runge-kutta algorithm to solve this differential system, the results of the power system simulations are compared to trapezoidal integration algorithm commonly used to solve the differential-algebraic equations. In this thesis, IEEE 14-bus system and IEEE 118-bus system are tested with both classical generator model generator model and two-axis generator model in MATLAB. The proposed algorithm shows significantly faster convergence comparted to trapezoidal integration method in larger power systems. It is a great improvement to shorten the simulation time in while keeping the same accuracy in large power systems.

A two-dimensional well-balanced numerical model for shallow water equations

Modeling flow discontinuities, due to a numerical approach, often pose severe challenges. In this way, a number of techniques like artificial viscosity (particularly for finite difference methods), shock fitting and etc. have been proposed. These techniques usually require ad-hoc terms which need to be adjusted through calibration. In this study, an efficient numerical model based on a shallow water equation is developed. The model uses a first-order centered (FORCE) scheme, in combination with the Surface Gradient Method, (SGM) for spatial discretization, and the third order runge-kutta algorithm for time integration. At first, it is demonstrated that the model is well-balanced, then, through several classical examples, such as a 1D dam-break on both dry and wet beds, transcritical flow over a bump, with and without shock, sub-critical flow over a bump, circular dam-break, small perturbation propagation, dam-break on a dry bed channel with varying widths and right-angled channel junctions, it is shown that the model is capable of capturing flow discontinuities. Furthermore, the model can simulate dry bed conditions, and also presents smooth symmetric results. (C) 2013 Sharif University of Technology. Production and hosting by Elsevier B.V. Factors Influencing the QMF Resolution for Operation in Stability Zones 1 and 3

This study uses a computer model to simulate a quadrupole mass filter (QMF) instrument under different operating conditions for Mathieu stability zones 1 and 3. The investigation considers the factors that limit the maximum resolution (R-max), which can be obtained for a given QMF for a particular value of scan line. Previously, QMF resolution (R) has been found to be dependent on number (N) of radio frequency (rf) cycles experienced by the ions in the mass filter, according to R = N (n) /K, where n and K are the constants. However, this expression does not predict the limit to QMF resolution observed in practice and is true only for the linear regions of the performance curve for QMF operation in zone 1 and zone 3 of the stability diagram. Here we model the saturated regions of the performance curve for QMF operation in zone 1 according to R = q(1 - 2c (N) )/Delta q, where c is a constant and Delta q is the width of the intersection of the operating scan line with the stability zone 1, measured at q-axis of the Mathieu stability diagram. Also by careful calculations of the detail of the stability tip of zone 1, the following relationship was established between R-max and percentage U/V ratio: R (max) = q/(0.9330-0.00933U/V). For QMF operation in zone 3 the expression R = a - bc (N) simulates well the linear and saturated regions of the performance curve for a range of operational conditions, where a, b, and c are constants.

Theoretical analysis of characteristics for 2 μm Tm³⁺:Ho³⁺ co-doped silica fiber laser pumped by a 1550 nm fiber laser

We established a theoretical model of 2 mu m Tm3+:Ho3+ co-doped silica fiber laser pumped by a 1550 nm fiber laser based on the rate-equation theory and performed the numerical simulation using runge-kutta algorithm and Newton-Raphson algorithm. The intracavity power distributions of both pump and laser of the Tm3+:Ho3+ co-doped silica fiber laser based on the Tm3+:Ho3+ co-doped silica fiber supplied by the National Optics Institute in Canada (NOIC) were obtained. The effects of the output reflectivity R-4(lambda(s)) at the output laser wavelength lambda(s) and the concentrations of Tm3+ and Ho3+ in the fiber on laser output performance were analyzed. In order to achieve a high laser output power, the optimal R4(lambda(s)) of 0.13 was verified and the optimal Tm:Ho ratio of 1:2.4 was proposed. Finally, better output performance for the fiber laser based on the optimized Tm3+:Ho3+ co-doped silica fiber was obtained than the laser using the fiber supplied by the NOIC. This theoretical model and numerical simulation results will guide the fabrication of 2 mu m Tm3+:Ho3+ co-doped all-fiber lasers pumped by 1600-nm-band (1500-1750 nm) Er3+:Yb3+ co-doped silica fiber lasers.
