Improved image matching method based on cursory search and detail-oriented correction with extension window

In order to achieve the fast and accurate image matching, gray matching algorithm and sift feature matching algorithm are combined, and an approach to the cursory search and detail-oriented correction with extension window is proposed. The cursory search is achieved by using new adaptive optimal guidance artificial bee colony algorithm (AOGABC) instead of ergodicity of the traditional gray matching algorithm. The gray correlation degree with statistical properties serves as the fitness function of the artificial colony algorithm (ABC). The extensional image window has built after cutting image according to the extension rules in extension window, detail-oriented correction accurately matches image by using the sift algorithm. The experiments verify that the matching method not only realizes rapidity because of performance of artificial bee colony algorithm and gray relational grade in the cursory search, but also achieves matching accuracy resulted from the combination of sift algorithm and extension window in this paper. By comparing the effects of different algorithms in the typical image, the results show that the purpose of the exact match is achieved.

GF-2 Panchromatic and Multispectral Remote Sensing Image Registration algorithm

Image registration is an important step in remote sensing image preprocessing. The accuracy, efficiency, and automatic degree of image registration will directly affect the results of subsequent image processing and analysis. Due to the slow registration speed and low registration accuracy of sift algorithm for GF-2 panchromatic and multispectral remote sensing images, sift algorithm is improved in this article to improve the efficiency of image registration algorithm. In this article, the strategy of information entropy meshes is introduced, and feature extraction is carried out only for the regions with large information entropy, so that the running time of feature extraction can be reduced. By introducing Canny operator to eliminate the unstable edge response points, the number of feature points can be further reduced, thus the computation amount of the algorithm can be also reduced. Due to the poor registration effect of sift algorithm for remote sensing images, a new gradient calculation method and feature description method are used in this article to enhance the robustness of feature descriptors. In the feature matching stage, this article proposes a two-layer matching strategy, which uses mutual Euclidean distance for initial matching, then uses FSC algorithm for fine matching, and finally realizes the registration of GF-2 panchromatic and multispectral remote sensing images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain more correct matching point pairs when the number of extracted feature points is small. Moreover, the registration accuracy and speed are both higher than the comparison algorithm. This article uses the remote sensing images of urban scenes dominated by plains and mountainous scenes with small terrain fluctuation respectively for experiments. The algorithm in this article can achieve registration accuracy better than 0.5 pixels, and in terms of time consumption, it is only about 70% of sift algorithm, and the computational

An Approach to 3D Building Model Retrieval Based on Topology Structure and View Feature

This paper proposes an approach to 3-D building model retrieval based on a topology structure and view feature using two filter steps to finish the building model retrieval. First, the distance transformation method is used to extract the topological structure of 3-D building models. The obtained skeleton points of 3D building models are classified by our concentric sphere method. The 3-D building models are then filtered for a first time based on the distribution features. Second, 3-D building models are projected onto 2-D images from the viewpoints of skeleton points. The scale-invariant feature transform algorithm is used to extract feature points from 2-D projection images, and the idea of the bag of feature method is used to compare the projection images. The 3-D building models are then filtered for a second time. Finally, we can get the retrieval result (the matched models). This method first carries out the matching of the overall structure and then carries out the matching of local details. This conforms to the cognitive style of human. In addition, the experiment results show the effectiveness of our method.

Background: For the cerebrovascular Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), how to restrain the patient motion artifact to improve the quality of subtraction image has an important effect on the clinical diagnosis. Methods: Currently, image registration is the main way to extract the blood vessels. However, there is usually massive calculation in the registration process. And it is usually only suitable for simple rigid motion artifact. Instead of registration way, a novel cerebrovascular segmentation method was proposed to extract blood vessels in this paper. In this method, the geometrical feature points of mask image and live image were firstly detected by sift algorithm under same restrain parameters. Secondly, the feature points were clustered and the subtraction of clustered point set was implemented. Then, the coordinates of the residual feature points were adjusted based on gray gradient. Lastly, the vessel image was segmented based on region growing and local threshold. Result: Experiments for the sequential cerebrovascular DSA images illustrate the applicability of this method. The quality of the vessel image after segmentation was satisfactory. The interdependency of geometrical feature information for both mask image and live image was adequately utilized in this new method. Conclusion: This method can provide accurate vessel image data for the clinical operation based on DSA interventional therapy.

Recognition and location of typical automotive parts based on the RGB-D camera

Aiming at the problem that the accuracy of multi-part automatic assembly line sorting is not high, a set of machine vision-based recognition and positioning system is designed with KINECT as the RGB-D camera. The internal and external parameters of the RGB-D camera were calibrated using MATLAB;taking the automobile tire as the target part, because it is better for the system and more accurate, the feature invariant feature transformation (sift) algorithm is used to extract and match the feature points of the target part. The depth-based image obtains the spatial position parameters of the target part, thereby calculating the three-dimensional coordinates of the target part, and realizes the recognition and positioning functions of the system. The experimental results show that the visual positioning effectiveness is 96% in the unstructured indoor environment, and the system has good robustness and real-time performance.

Improved Point Cloud Registration with Scale Invariant Feature Extracted

The efficiency and accuracy of point set registration is always a challenge to deal with. In this paper, we propose an improved algorithm using a scale invariant feature extracted. The larger transformation scale and rotation angle cause lower registration accuracy. The initial corresponding point set can be obtained using a scale invariant feature transform (sift) operator. In addition, the geometric features of the points are combined to remove the wrong points. The unit quaternion algorithm is used to estimate the best rigid body transformation matrix for precise registration. The experiments show that the registration accuracy increases by 7.99%, while the time consumption decreased by 6.24% in a typical indoor scene.

Constructing interactive multi-view videos based on image-based rendering

In this paper, we use image-based rendering (IBR) to develop a scene rotation mechanism. We shot several images in the same scene and computed the angles between images. A video is then composed, allowing users to select viewing angles when the video is playing. We made three kinds of assumptions that may affect the resulting video, and proved our assumptions by a series of experiments. Finally, we use video of realistic scenario and produce interactive video by the proposed method. The contribution also includes techniques to compute geometric parameters of the scene from one or more images.

The Recognition of Microscopic Images of Ceramics Incorporating Blockchain Technology

Having summarized the previous research on ceramic identification and anti-counterfeiting, the authors propose a ceramic identification system that combines computer vision algorithms with blockchain technology. The system uses irregular pores on microscopic images of ceramic surfaces as image features, and it applies the sift (scale-invariant feature transform) algorithm to extract feature. The images and feature vector sets are then stored by IPFS (inter-planetary file system). When a consumer needs to authenticate a ceramic product, it is only necessary to take a microscopic image of the specified location, and then the sift algorithm will compare the picture with the data stored in the IPFS network, previously obtained through the records on a blockchain network. The matching result then determines whether the photographed ceramic is one of those already recorded. Experimental results show that the matching results can be used as a strong basis for identifying the origin of ceramic products.

In this paper the idea of an autonomic drone landing system which bases on different markers detection, is presented. The issue of safe autonomic drone landing is one of the major aspects connected with drone missions. The idea of the proposed system is to detect the landing place, marked with an image called marker, using one of the image recognition algorithms, and heading during the landing procedure to this place. Choosing the proper marker, which allows the greatest quality of the recognition system, is the main problem faced in this paper. Seven markers are tested and compared. The achieved results are described and discussed.

Automatic feature extraction and matching modelling for highly noise near-equatorial satellite images

Feature extraction plays an important role in pattern recognition because band-to-band registration and geometric correction from different satellite images have linear image distortion. However, new near-equatorial orbital satellite system (NEqO) images is different because they have nonlinear distortion. Conventional techniques cannot overcome this type of distortion and lead to the extraction of false features and incorrect image matching. This research presents a new method by improving the performance of the Scale-Invariant Feature Transformation (sift) with a significantly higher rate of true extracted features and their correct matching. The data in this study were obtained from the RazakSAT satellite covering a part of Penang state, Malaysia. The method consists of many stages: image band selection, image band compression, image sharpening, automatic feature extraction, and applying the sum of absolute difference algorithm with an experimental and empirical threshold. We evaluate a refined features scenario by comparing the result of the original extracted sift features with corresponding features of the proposed method. The result indicates accurate and precise performance of the proposed method from removing false sift extracted features of satellite images and remain only true sift extracted features, that leads to reduce the extracted feature from using three frame size: (1) from 2000 to 750, 552 and 92 for the green and red bands image, (2) from 678 extracted control points to be 193, 228 and 73 between the green and blue bands, and (3) from 1995 extracted CPs to be 656, 733, and 556 between the green and near-infrared bands, respectively.
