After considering the spectral correlation of structure and statistics of the hyperspectral image, the redundancy reduction is optimized using reversible transformation of integer matrices in conjunction with the N-band integer reversible transformation of spectral matrices. This paper proposes a new quantization algorithm, XCJRCT, that uses invertible matrix transformation to remove spectral redundancy and optimize bit allocation in structure. The lifting scheme of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is used in conjunction with other algorithms to reduce redundancy and set partitioning in hierarchical trees (spiht) coding. The experimental results show that lossless compression is significantly better than JPEG-LS, WinZip, ARJ, and DPCM. Using the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Canal test image (Band Sequential) as an example data set, the average compression ratio increases by about 73.691598%, 67.713276%, 65.175242%, and 59.107580%, respectively, compared to the above algorithms.

Progressive image coding using set partitioning in hierarchical tree algorithm and embedded trellis-coded quantiser

A progressive image-coding algorithm that uses a combination of the set partitioning in hierarchical tree (spiht) algorithm and an embedded trellis-coded quantiser (E-TCQ) is proposed. Using the hierarchical quadtree structure, a significant map of coefficients is encoded. The E-TCQ is then used to refine the amplitude of the method. It is shown that this method gives good performance, with very little increase in computational complexity and storage memory.

Tato rušení autor blíže rozebírá a popisuje jejich realizaci v programovém prostředí MATLAB. Představuje algoritmus spiht a jeho možnosti. Následně popisuje aplikaci tohoto algoritmu na signál EKG zarušený jednotlivými typy rušení, pomocí navrženého generátoru rušení, a zkoumá vliv algoritmu spiht na dané typy rušení. V závěru hodnotí dosažené výsledky.

Compressed domain image retargeting in hierarchical wavelet trees

This paper presents an efficient algorithm with content aware spatial scalability for effective displaying on various screens of different sizes. It combines the set partitioning in hierarchical trees (spiht) algorithm and the multiscale seam carving (MSC) algorithm in the compressed domain. As seams of insignificant wavelet trees can be discarded as early as possible, the burden of unnecessary computation and memory space is alleviated. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is preferable to other existing pixel-domain algorithms.

Lossless compression schemes with secure transmission play a key role in telemedicine applications that helps in accurate diagnosis and research. Traditional cryptographic algorithms for data security are not fast enough to process vast amount of data. Hence a novel Secured lossless compression approach proposed in this paper is based on reversible integer wavelet transform, spiht algorithm, new modified runlength coding for character representation and selective bit scrambling. The use of the lifting scheme allows to generate truly lossless integer-to-integer wavelet transforms. Images are compressed/decompressed by well-known spiht algorithm. The proposed modified runlength coding greatly improves the compression performance and also increases the security level. This work employs scrambling method which is fast, simple to implement and it provides security. Lossless compression ratios and distortion performance of this proposed method are found to be better than other lossless techniques.

Image compression has an important role in the area of transmission and stores the lossless image compression. The aim of this project is to increase the image compression ratio and also the PSNR value, compress the large size of images in to small size. When the compression is high to compare the other algorithm of parameters it is a best of image compression algorithm. Thus the meaning of compression is to reduce the size of images. This small size of image files are used to store in the memory disk, and also used to reducing the transmitting time. To compare the parameters of compression algorithm is the spiht algorithm is the best algorithm of compression algorithm because it has a high compression ratio.

Set partitioning in hierarchical trees (spiht) image compression algorithm based on Wavelet Transform can't effectively express the image of the texture and contour. Contour let transform can retain image details better because it avoids down sampling to high-frequency subband, and the coefficient is also sparser than it of wavelet transform. In this paper, a suitable spiht algorithm for contourlet transform was proposed for its coefficient matrix characteristics and distribution. The new algorithm not only overcome the disadvantage of not protecting details and texture effectively when using wavelet transform, but also saves coding time, at the same time enhance the image of the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR). Simulation results show that the method is an efficient image compression algorithm. Its compression effect is obviously better than traditional spiht algorithms based on wavelet transform and WBCT (especially at low bit rates). It has generality.

Lattice vector quantization (LVQ) offers substantial reduction in computational load and design complexity due to the lattice regular structure [1]. In this paper, we extended the spiht [2] coding algorithm with lattice vector quantization to code hyperspectral. images. In the proposed algorithm, multistage lattice vector quantization (MLVQ) is used to exploit correlations between image slices, while offering successive refinement with low coding complexity and computation. Different four-dimensional lattices and significance metrics are considered. Their rate-distortion performance is compared with other 2D and 3D wavelet-based image compression algorithms.

This paper describes a method used for PCG signals compression suitable for wireless cardiac patient monitoring applications. It is based on dictionary and bitmask compression techniques applied to the bit stream generated by the Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees (spiht) coding algorithm. The method yields good performances and allows for the spiht embedded coding property to be conserved.
