The present paper is devoted to sampled-data control design of a PDE-PDE cascade system. These PDEs are governed by heat equations with different reaction coefficients. In order to stabilize the cascaded heat-heat system, we start with the design of continuous-time feedback control law. Then sampled-data control is further proposed for practical reasons. Sufficient conditions are derived for guaranteeing the exponential stability and well-posedness of the corresponding closed-loop system via Lyapunov method and modal decomposition method. This study addresses the sampled-data control issue for a class of continuous-time switched affine systems (SASs). Specifically, this research aims to relax the constraints on the number of equilibrium points to better characterize the convergence region of continuous-time SASs under the framework of the nonuniform sampling. A sampled-data switching signal is designed to drive the system state toward a union of convergence regions encompassing the shifted points. The shifted points refer to specific points in the state space toward which the system's trajectory is directed or guided. By introducing a switching multishifted-point-dependent Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions are derived for the practical stability of the presented SASs. Moreover, the number of shifted points is determined by the designer, whose value is calculable by resolving the derived stability conditions. Finally, the effectiveness and advancement of the proposed approach are illustrated via a dc-dc buck-boost converter.

This paper investigates the problem of sampled-data control for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with delays in the input and state. It is shown that under an upper-triangular linear growth condition, a linear memoryless sampled-data feedback controller is able to globally stabilise the stochastic nonlinear time-delay systems, no matter how large the time delay and sampling period are. The memoryless sampled-data feedback controller is designed by using the emulation method together with the feedback domination technique. With the aid of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method, the constructed memoryless sampled-data feedback controller achieves global exponential stability (GES) in mean square of the hybrid closed-loop systems. Application of the sampled-data control scheme is demonstrated through a practical example with simulation.

sampled-data control problems via memoryless state and output feedback are studied, respectively, for a class of strongly nonlinear systems with state and input delays. Under sample and hold, both state and output feedback control schemes are developed by virtue of the emulation method, the adding a power integrator technique, and the recursive design of nonlinear observers. With the aid of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional theorem, together with the idea of robust control, we prove that the proposed sampled-data state and output feedback controllers make the hybrid closed-loop systems with delays and uncertainty globally asymptotically stable, if the input delay and sampling period are limited. The class of time-delay uncertain systems under consideration goes beyond the Lipschitz or linear growth condition and is genuinely nonlinear in the sense that it contains uncontrollable/unobservable linearization and is not stabilizable, even locally, by any linear or smooth feedback. Applications of the sampled-data robust control schemes presented in this article are illustrated by examples with simulations.

This paper focuses on the sampled-data control for a DC-DC buck-boost converter, which is modeled as a class of continuous-time switched affine systems (SASs). The controller of the closed-loop system, in which both the control inputs and switching signals are sampled-data-dependent, is designed to ensure convergence of the system state to a specified region. This region comprises multiple ellipsoids centered around some shifted points that need to be determined, which can better characterize the convergence region under non-uniform sampling intervals. By introducing a switching multi-shifted-point-dependent Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure practical stability of the presented SASs. The proposed design scheme generalizes the switching quadratic Lyapunov function based method, and provides a smaller and more accurate invariant set. Moreover, the method is extended to SASs with uncertainties, and the corresponding robust stability conditions are provided. Finally, the superiority of the proposed approach is demonstrated through a case study of a DC motor driven by a buck-boost converter.

In this paper, we discuss the security control problem of cyber physical systems based on identifying false data injection attacks. First, the unknown adversary randomly attacks the measurement output, a mechanism is set in the sensor to update the measurement output to the constant, called the one-valued quantized mechanism. Then, the Bienayme-Chebyshev inequality and the one-valued quantized mechanism are utilized to design an identification algorithm, the estimated value of the false data injection attack and the minimum identification time can be obtained. Furthermore, based on the LMI theory, sampled-data control gains with and without attacks are obtained to ensure the system mean-square exponential stable, respectively. And the corresponding maximum sampling period of the controller is obtained. Finally, numerical examples verify the correctness and effectiveness of the theory.

In this paper, a sampled-data state feedback controller based on a non-recursive design framework is proposed for a class of nonlinear lower triangular systems with mismatched disturbances. Firstly, the continuous-time observer is discretized by the Euler method, and the continuous-time controller is discretized by the zero-order holding method. Then, by constructing a reasonable Lyapunov function and applying Gronwall-Bellman inequality, it has been rigorously demonstrated that the global bounded stability of the closed-loop system can be guaranteed by a appropriate selection of sampling period and scaling gain. By employing the non-recursive method, the proposed scheme avoids the problem of " explosion of terms " caused by recursive design procedures. In the meantime, a new discrete-time observer is designed to observe the disturbance of the sampling points given the adverse effects of the mismatched disturbances. Since both the observer and the controller are discrete in form, they are easy to implement on a digital computer. The efficacy of the proposed control scheme is validated through numerical simulations.

Stability Analysis of Networked Stochastic Systems With Time Delays Under Deception Attacks by sampled-data control

This article focuses on the mean-square exponential stability of networked stochastic systems with time delays (NSSTDs) under nonlinear coupling and deception attacks, employing a sampled-data control strategy. A generalized Halanay inequality for NSSTDs is proposed to investigate the stability of the closed-loop system, where multiple time delays with different bounds are considered, with an incorporation of the graph theory. By the comparison of the continuous control system and the sample-data control system, the equivalence condition on the stabilities of the two systems is studied. Meanwhile, estimates for the maximum tolerable attack probability and the corresponding largest sampling period are obtained. Moreover, a qualitative analysis of various indicators for the deception attacks and the sampling period is revealed. Following this, the theorized results are applied to linear systems with multiple time delays under nonlinear coupling, and matrix inequalities for identifying the appropriate value of the control gain are provided by the generalized Halanay inequality. To show the correctness of the results, computational simulations are conducted.

This study explores the protocol-based sampled-data control for T-S fuzzy reaction-diffusion neural networks (RDNNs) with nonhomogeneous sojourn probabilities (NSPs). By incorporating a deterministic switching signal, a new framework of NSPs is developed to characterize the random behaviors of fuzzy RDNNs. Unlike previous studies, this work introduces multiasynchronous switching among fuzzy RDNNs, triggering conditions, and controllers using dynamic asynchrony models, effectively capturing mode transitions through NSPs and detection probabilities. An improved adaptive event-triggered protocol is created by integrating fuzzy rules and detection probability information. Moving beyond traditional time-domain sampled-data control strategies, a space-time sampled-data control approach is proposed to significantly reduce communication load. Benefiting from Lyapunov theory, criteria are attained for ensuring the mean-square exponential stability of the systems under consideration. Ultimately, the proposed space-time sampled-data control strategy is validated through a simulation example, highlighting its effectiveness and superiority.

This paper investigates the fixed-time (FXT) consensus issue for nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) via both event-triggered intermittent communication and sampled-data control. Firstly, combining the event-triggered mechanism and the centralized sampled-data control method, a new type of the event-triggered intermittent control protocol is devised, in which the auxiliary function is introduced to determine the control intervals of the protocol. Secondly, the centralized strategy, which requires obtaining the global information, may be difficult to apply in large-scale networks. Therefore, we design an intermittent communication protocol with the distributed sampled-data control strategy, in which the event-triggering condition is given only by using local neighbors' states. Furthermore, based on the Lyapunov stability theory, some sufficient conditions are obtained for achieving FXT consensus of MASs with the centralized and distributed sampled-data control strategies, and the Zeno phenomena are avoided. Finally, two examples are provided to verify the validity of the theoretical results.
