In this paper, we present basic notions and relevant results in the area of grid scheduling. The current approaches of GA have little weaknesses when it was used in grid scheduling. We introduce mathematical model of grid scheduling and give a detailed GA method by using the "pattern theory" and "building block hypothesis" technologies. This modified method can decrease the randomicity of the current GA. And we use the MGA method to study grid-scheduling problems and find a necessary and sufficient design method. At last, we analyze the laboratory result to show that the modified algorithm has better characteristics than the standard GA when it was used in grid task scheduling.

In this paper, we present a scheduling algorithm for Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol in wireless sensor networks. In the algorithm, the state feedback control method in modern control theory is introduced to keep the access states of nodes stable. To build the control model, we use the forecast mechanism to predict active nodes, and define the access state of measure system through polling access times and total access times. This paper describes the principle and process of feedback control in the algorithm in detail. Finally, we select 3 initial states to simulate different collision probability which means the collision ratio in whole communication. The simulation result proves that in both low and high collision probability this scheduling algorithm avoids the communication contention among nodes and keeps the access states of nodes stable and convergent.

Heterogeneous distributed systems have been widely used in the industrial field to address the demand for scalability and performance. However, with the increase in the number of computing nodes, the energy consumption of the system has sharply risen. Therefore, reducing energy consumption has become an important objective in the field of sustainable computing. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an energy-conscious scheduling algorithm based on heterogeneous computing systems for allocating and scheduling tasks with different priorities. The algorithm initializes the population based on the Earliest Finish Time (EFT) and processor allocation strategy and adopts the superior individual selection strategy to reduce the influence of inferior solutions. Additionally, the MECMA algorithm introduces a novel adaptive mutation operator to enhance the diversity of the population and accelerate the convergence speed. Simulation experiments have been conducted on a set of randomly generated tasks, and the experimental results have demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. The proposed MECMA algorithm has significantly reduced energy consumption and shortened task completion time. The research results have great potential to contribute to the development of sustainable computing and the optimization of energy utilization in industrial fields.

Next generation wireless communication systems are being devised with the vision of heterogeneity where multiple wireless technologies are co-existing. Bandwidth is one of wireless resources that can be aggregated among the available technologies in a particular area. Bandwidth aggregation has been considered one of the effective solutions for high bandwidth required applications in Heterogeneous Wireless Network (HWN). However, the selection of Radio Access Technology (RAT) for aggregation in HWN is a great challenge. This paper proposes a scheduling algorithm for RAT selection in HWN for bandwidth aggregation. It is expected that the proposed algorithm can select the minimum set of RAT from the available RATs based on the required application's demand that will improve the throughput and utilizes the wireless resources.

Cloud Computing has gained high attention by provisioning resources and software as a service. Throughout the years, the number of users of clouds is increasing and thus will increase the number of tasks and load in the cloud. Therefore, scheduling tasks efficiently and dynamically is a critical problem to be solved. There are many scheduling algorithms that are used in cloud computing but most of them are concentrating on minimizing time and cost and some of them concentrate on increasing fault tolerance. However, very few scheduling algorithms that considers time, cost, and fault tolerance at the same time. Moreover, Considering pricing models in developing scheduling algorithms to provide cost-effective fault tolerant techniques is still in its infancy. Therefore, analysing the impact of the different pricing models on scheduling algorithm will lead to choosing the right pricing model that will not affect the cost. This paper proposes developing a scheduling algorithm that combines these features to provide an efficient mapping of tasks and improve Quality of Service (QoS).

In this paper, we present a scheduling algorithm to exploit multi-user diversity with one bit feedback information for multi-user MIMO system. Instead, the users in a cell only need feed back one-bit information about the comparison between the channel quality indicator and the defined threshold C-th, and then BS allocates the channel resource to one user experiencing favorable channel conditions. Specially, we solve this problem achieving the optimum threshold for multiple antennas systems in presence of transmit correlation. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better performance in terms of the average system spectral efficiency than round robin scheduling scheme.

With the rapid expansion of application range, Deep-Learning has increasingly become an indispensable practical method to solve problems in various industries. In different application scenarios, especially in high concurrency areas such as search and recommendation, deep learning inference system is required to have high throughput and low latency, which can not be easily obtained at the same time. In this paper, we build a model to quantify the relationship between concurrency, throughput and job latency. Then we implement a GPU scheduling algorithm for inference jobs in deep learning inference system based on the model. The algorithm predicts the completion time of batch jobs being executed, and reasonably chooses the batch size of the next batch jobs according to the concurrency and upload data to GPU memory ahead of time. So that the system can hide the data transfer delay of GPU and achieve the minimum job latency under the premise of meeting the throughput requirements. Experiments show that the proposed GPU asynchronous data transfer scheduling algorithm improves throughput by 9% compared with the traditional synchronous algorithm, reduces the latency by 3%-76% under different concurrency, and can better suppress the job latency fluctuation caused by concurrency changing.

The paper mainly researches on service scheduling algorithms for IEEE 802.16. Firstly, the paper researches the QoS mechanism of MAC from two sides, the management of service flow and QoS guarantee. The improved cross layer QoS framework is proposed for the shortcomings of the existing QoS framework. Secondly, service scheduling algorithms are also one of the key parts to realize QoS. The paper mainly studies and compares the generic scheduling algorithms used in wired and wireless network. Aiming at the shortcomings of RR and MAX C/I algorithms, the improved MAX C/I algorithm is proposed to get the balance of fairness and throughput. Finally, the matlab simulation platform is constructed to evaluate the performance of the improved MAX C/I and the class-based scheduling scheme. The simulation results show that the scheme satisfies the QoS requirement of every service and improves the fairness of the users and system throughput.

scheduling is considered as the most important task in high-level synthesis process. This paper presents a novel list-based scheduling algorithm based on incorporating some information extracted from data flow graph (DFG) structure to guide the scheduler to find near-optimal/optimal schedules quickly. We have developed a novel approach based on DFG analysis that is totally done as preparation phase. This DFG analysis information includes: every node knows its successor and its predecessor, total number of successors, and the tree which it belongs to, where trees are constructed from every output operation from the constructed DFG. Incorporating this knowledge in the priority functions of the scheduler guided the scheduler to make the correct choice of the perfect operation to be scheduled next.

In this paper, a novel heuristic scheduling algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of product-conversion in semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing (ATM) system. The phenomenon of product-conversion is frequent and takes a lot of time in ATM enterprise. In order to reduce the frequency of product-conversion and minimize the conversion time in product-conversion station, the novel algorithm has predicted and limited the number of the permissible assigned machines for each type of products according to the processing conditions before scheduling;and takes processing conditions as the priority principle of assignment in the follow-up process;in addition, the algorithm sets up a decision-making mechanism when the machine should convert the product. Finally, comparing the algorithm with two traditional methods, the results show that the scheduling using the novel algorithm has an obvious advantage, it improves the utilization rate of equipment and productiveness.
