Chip MultiProcessor (CMP) has been the main stream in microprocessor design. Shared on-chip L2 caches are widely used in processors with homogeneous CMP architecture. In the paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm for such processors and the shared L2 caches are taken into account in this algorithm. First, the processor cores on chip will be divided into different core groups. The scheduling domain is also constructed according to these core groups. And then the load vectors for load balance are defined. Then a scheduling algorithm is designed and implemented for load balance on CMP architecture. We have compared our algorithm with the CMP scheduling algorithm of Linux. The experimental results show that, when there are multi-threads in execution, the load balancing between processors is achieved by our algorithm, the total execution time is reduced by 3%, and the miss rate of L2 cache is reduced by 0.2% as well.

Workflow management system model and workflow task scheduling algorithm are the critical research areas in combination of workflow and grid techniques. On the basis of active network, a distributed, scalable workflow management system model which can adapt to dynamic changes of grid resource is presented. Workflow tasks are partitioned according to the characteristic of workflow structure, and the entire deadline and cost are divided into sub-deadline and sub-cost for each task partition based on its length and communication traffic;Considering user's multi-QoS requirements and communication time between Workflow tasks, a trust and cost based Comprehensive Beneficial Function and determination methods of trust's and cost's weights are provided. A scheduling algorithm TCD aims at comprehensive optimization of trust and cost is put forward and this algorithm tries to get an optimized solution for each task partition to achieve an optimized scheduling with multi-object for the entire workflow. Simulation results show that the algorithm can guarantee user's multi-QoS quite well.

Due to the increasing demand for computing power in many industries, heterogeneous multi-core processors are needed to solve the problem. In order to make full use of multi-core computing resources, an effective scheduling strategy for heterogeneous multi-core processor tasks is required. Directed acyclic graph (DAG) is usually used to represent data dependencies between tasks. Each task needs to be executed in the order of its data dependencies. Research under this model has made great progress. In this article, we study and improve the DAG-based task model, taking into account the fact that not only one-way data transmission is possible between tasks, but also two-way data exchange. Based on this model, we propose two scheduling strategies, overall cutting scheduling (OCS) and greedy selection scheduling (GSS). As far as we know, there is currently no work considering the existence of a special task model of two-way transmission between tasks, nor has it considered task scheduling in two-way transmission. In order to evaluate and demonstrate its feasibility and practicability, we proposed a reference method and supplemented with large-scale system experiments. These experiments show that the scheduling efficiency of the proposed method is greatly improved.

With the fast development of transport technology and the constantly increasing Internet traffic, the multi-stage switching fabric will be the next step for scalable routers in next generation network. Nevertheless, current Memory-Space-Memory (MSM) Clos switching fabric exhibits poor performance under unbalanced traffic. By taking buffers into the internal links of switching fabric, this paper proposes an alternative Fully Buffered three-stage Clos switching fabric-FBC, which not only could provide perfect throughput performance, but also exhibits a better delay performance in heavy load by storing cells at the internal buffers. To resolve the issue of packet disorder, this paper also provides a scheduling algorithm for maintaining packet order-Load-balance and Token-ring based scheduling algorithm (LTS) for FBC. This algorithm is based on the load-balance at central-stage and token-ring scheduling between central-stage and output-stage which is prone to implement in hardware at the promise of maintaining packet order. At last, the simulation results prove that LTS is more effective.

Efficient scheduling algorithms have always been a hot topic of research in heterogeneous computing systems. Task Duplication Based (TDB) scheme is an important technique addressing this problem, and the main idea is to trade the computational cost of tasks for the communication cost. In this paper, we proposed a Task-Duplication based Clustering scheduling (TDCS) algorithm which uses the task duplication technique and clustering to occur as little communication spend as possible, and thus reduce overall completion time. The TDCS scheduling process consists of three main phases. Firstly, the algorithm calculates the critical predecessor of tasks. Secondly, the generation of clusters based on the task critical predecessor trail, this phase is accompanied by the generation of task duplication. Finally, the selection of the appropriate processor for the cluster, this phase takes into account the communication costs. The experiments and analysis are based on randomly generated graphs with various parameters, including the degree of DAG regularity and the communication-computing cost ratio, as well as the number of processors and the degree of heterogeneity. The results showed that the algorithm is highly competitive and can effectively reduce the scheduling length.

Given a task set 'T, finding a feasible schedule for 'T is one of the most significant problems of real-time embedded systems. The research community has found a lot of important results for the scheduling problem on both uniprocessor and multiprocessor platforms. Biomedical systems are increasingly controlled by computers. The present paper describes an efficient algorithm for getting a feasible schedule of a task set 'T. Our new algorithm is applicable to biomedical systems and it is able to find a feasible schedule even when the traditional EDF and LLF scheduling techniques are not able to find one.

Meeting users' deadline constraint is usually the most important goal of workflow scheduling in Grid environment. In order to consider the dynamism of Grid resource, we adopted a stochastic model to describe dynamic workloads of Grid resources. A concept called Deadline Satisfaction Degree of Workflow (DSDW) was defined to represent the probability that a workflow could be completed before its deadline. We calculated task execution priorities based on their precedence relations in the workflow, then determined the candidate resource for each task so as to maximize DSDW, finally converted distribution problem of overall workflow deadline into a nonlinear programming problem with constraints and resolved it with known solutions. A Deadline Satisfaction Enhanced scheduling algorithm for Workflow (DSESAW) involving deadline distribution and resource selection was presented. The extensive simulation experiments using a practical medical image analysis application was conducted to verify our algorithm. Experimental results indicated that our algorithm could adapt to dynamic Grid environment and provide a good guarantee for user's deadline requirements.

Nowadays, heterogeneous and stringent requirements for the fifth generation (5G) mobile communication system are imposed to adapt with the fast growing usage of the mobile equipment including connected vehicles and rapid development of IoT. As a consequence, the limitation and inefficient using of the spectrum becomes a major problem to meet the demand of mobile broadband, extreme capacity and high throughput. Thus, to handle the challenges of access collisions, the scarcity of spectral efficiency due to the limited bandwidth and massive connectivity, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) schemes have been introduced as a potential solution for 5G wireless networks. Accordingly, this paper presents a new optimal scheduling algorithm for V2X connections called Dynamic scheduling algorithm based on NOMA and Priority Assignment for vehicular Networks (DSA-PA-NOMA), which improves performances in terms of Quality of Service (QoS), throughput and bit error rate (BER). The proposed algorithm consider the traffic classification imposed by V2X exigency and taking into account the channel conditions of Vehicular User Equipment (VUE) expressed by the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) value. The purpose of this paper is to study the multielement orchestration and scheduling algorithm of computing power network to solve the problems of task scheduling and resource utilization efficiency. By analyzing the demand and resources of the computing network, the appropriate optimization objective function and scheduling strategy are designed, and the efficient orchestration and scheduling of the computing network are realized by combining mathematical models and algorithm design. At the same time, the feasibility and superiority of the multi-element orchestration and scheduling algorithm are fully verified by applying the designed multi-element orchestration and scheduling algorithm to the actual production system to complete the production scheduling of computing network services.

With the increasing of messages transmitted in battery electric vehicle (BEV) control network, sole scheduling methods couldn't satisfy the message transmitting requirement of the network. Therefore, this article proposes a hybrid TTCAN scheduling algorithm, and uses this algorithm to schedule messages transmitted in BEV control network. The experiment results prove that this algorithm makes the performance of BEV better, not only satisfies the deadlines of messages, but also improves the utilization rate of BEV control network.
