As the way of easing urban traffic congestion, taxi ridesharing can effectively protect the environment and solve the difficulty of passengers taking taxis when taxi demand is high. In this paper, we formally define the dynamic ride-sharing problem and propose a taxi candidates-reduction ride-sharing scheduling algorithm based on dynamic grid. Regarding the congestion situation of the multiple road condition, the concept of speed decay zone was purposed to simulate this area. To solve the problem of low satisfaction in the congested situation, we devise a dynamic grid division strategy that reduces the grid size of the hotspot area to satisfy the specific needs of passengers in rush hour, and efficiently screen candidate taxis by dynamic grid index. We perform the experiments using the request dataset generated by the taxi request simulator of Beijing Chaoyang district. The performance shows that our approach reduce 35.5% computation without losing average satisfaction compared with existing ridesharing algorithm.

This study implements a hybrid cuckoo search and pattern search algorithm (hcsa-ps) for PID controller design for load frequency regulation of a single area islanded microgrid. The single area system taken into account in this study is a combination of Photovoltaic (PV), wind turbine (WT), fuel cell (FC), Diesel engine generator (DEG), microturbine generator (MTG), Battery energy storage (BES), fuel cell energy storage (FES). Due to the dependency of PV and WTG on environmental condition the system nominal operation gets deviates. Inspired from this issue here a legend hcsa-ps based PID controller is designed and it is compared with conventional I and PI controller to evidence its supremacy. The proposed hcsa-ps algorithm is also compared to GA, PSO, CSA algorithm.

Feature selection is the pre-processing step that is widely used, especially in the field of data mining, to simplify processes that can reduce costs and computing time. Selected features can improve the best classification accuracy. In this work, a wrapper method approach is proposed using a modified harmony search. Modification is to update memory harmony using binary encoding. The coding process is adopted from the coding process of genetic algorithms for feature selection. The process of finding a new solution is done by manipulating each variable of the decision solution based on the harmony memory consideration and pitch adjustment procedures and the non-uniform mutation procedure. Evaluate its features using a support vector machine and is called a modified HS-SVM. The results showed that the proposed method has the same genetic algorithm performance for feature selection with SVM classification (GA-SVM), but has faster access time. This performance will reduce costs and computing time, especially if applied to high dimensional data. Both of these algorithms have 96.6 percent accuracy with one feature selected, and the harmony memory size is 50, and the generation size is 100.

In recent years, generation cost and fuel emission have been essential to minimize to sustain on the planet. Fossil fuel has been enormously utilized for power generation for a long time. It is required to manage customer demand and protect our environment by properly utilizing fossil fuel. Here, the combined economic emission load dispatch (CEELD) problem has been taken for getting a solution to the crisis of conventional energy resources. Here, price penalty factor has been used to formulate a single objective function of CEELD problem and this objective function has been taken to obtain optimal generation cost and emission by chaotic sequence-based hybridized backtracking search algorithm and particle swarm optimization(C-BSA-PSO). Performance and convertibility of the proposed algorithm have been shown by comparing the results with different results of PSO and BSA.

The standard whale algorithm is easy to fall into the local optimum, in order to further improve the performance of the whale optimization algorithm, improve the local search ability and global search ability of the algorithm, a new hybrid whale optimization algorithm is proposed in this paper. Differential evolution algorithm is combined with the standard whale optimization algorithm, and chaos initialization population and chaos disturbance, adaptive convergence operator, adaptive selection and other operations are added to the algorithm. Several test functions have been used to prove its superiority in accuracy and speed.

The rate of oral drug absorption can be predicted using the compartmental absorption and transit (CAT) model. In this paper, the CAT model has been modified by combining the dissolution constant in seven compartments in the small intestine to define the plasma concentration of the oral drug, Atenolol. The simulations were performed using the MATLAB program and optimized by gravitational search algorithm (GSA) technique. Based on the results of the simulation the prediction of plasma concentration of Atenolol at doses of 25, 50, and 100 mg, the MCAT model with GSA optimization has a better prediction as compared to the MCAT simulation only. The determination coefficient values (R 2 ) are increased from the range of 80% to more than 90% and show that the simulation results fit very well with the experimental data. The inclusion of GSA helps to optimize the MCAT model in predicting the plasma concentration of drug in the absorption, distribution, and metabolism phase (the first 8 hours after drug administration).

In this paper design and analysis of Solar energy based brushless dc motor circuit framework is discussed. The power and voltage curve of the system exhibit contains a large number of nearby maximun power points (MPPTs) and one maximum peak. The article introduces an audit for a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) based PV source focused on maximising the power output using cuckoo search optimisation technique. Cuckoo search gives a few points of interest, for example, the way toward tuning parameters is not many with high productivity next to quick union. Cuckoo search utilizes an arbitrary stroll as per demand trip in looking through procedure. MPPT is designed to utilize cuckoo search in contrast with other existing techniques which needs preparing for optimisation and the existing P&O. Zeta converter is directly used with driving pulse control of a PWM based PIC controller. The outcomes should predict that Cuckoo Search can follow MPPT under varying external working conditions with lower power misfortunes as compared to other techniques.

In this paper a two channel quadrature mirror filter(QMF) bank design method is proposed using Cuckoo Search algorithm (CSA). The CSA is used to optimize the coefficients of prototype filter bank in order to match the response characteristics of the prototype filter bank with the ideal system response. The weighted sum of square error at the pass band, square error at the stop band and filter bank response at the quadrature frequency are used to formulate the objective function. The CSA is used as the constrained nonlinear optimization tool to solve the objective function. The performance of the proposed method is analysed through mean square error (MSE) in the pass band and stop band and reconstruction error (RE). A comparative statement has been prepared between the different optimization techniques for optimization of coefficients of QMF. Two examples are considered to illustrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.

In order to improve the influence of distortion type image such as peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity, an image quality evaluation method based on Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Improved Grid Search algorithm is proposed. First, using Improved Grid Search algorithm to find the optimal kernel parameters in SVM. Then, input the sample data into the improved SVM for predictive evaluation. Finally, an image quality evaluation model is established. According to the experimental results, the method of evaluating the image quality is efficient and simple to implement.

In this paper Symbiotic Organism Search (SOS) is proposed for Automatic Generation Control of two-area reheat thermal power system. The proposed power system is considered with two single input FPIDN (SIFPIDN-1 & SIFPIDN-2)/ and multi-inputs FPIDN (MIFPIDN) are implemented individually in each area tuned by SOS algorithm. The objective function is formulated concerning undershoot and overshoot of frequency and ptie-line power deviation of power system by implementing three different controllers in each area. Sensitivity analysis is carried out in two ways by varying the SLP within +50% and -50% in steps of 25%. Percentage improvement, bar plot and tabular presentation is exhibited in order to clarify the proposed MI-FPIDN controller tuned by SOS algorithm for a two area reheat thermal power system in each area outperforms better when transiency condition is considered. The proposed work is compared with a published article where it dominates the condition of transiency in both under/overshoots aspects.
