Decision-making regarding performance issues re-quires computer systems monitoring at any level of service provisioning. However, most of the available tools do not always allow flexibility, or when it does, it impacts directly the resource consumption through an intrusive methodology. This paper presents the UNAME tool, which proposes the automatic generation of shell scripts for monitoring computational resources. Through a GUI, the user can drag in or out the components to be evaluated. The Linux monitoring commands were mapped to high-level representations of the computational resources, and now the user, through little interaction or knowledge about scripting, can generate their own scripts to monitor the required system resources. To demonstrate the UNAME tool feasibility we provide a case study and an evaluation scenario. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed tool.

Analysis of cutting forces in helical ball end milling process using machine learning

In this paper, variation of cutting forces exerted on tool with respect to cutting parameters for ball end milling process is analysed using deep neural network. A neural network was fabricated to predict cutting forces in all three orthogonal directions for a given set of cutting parameters. Analysis was done by varying axial depth of cut and feed-rate while keeping all other parameters constant, because the variation of cutting forces was most significant for these two parameters. For generating data CutPro simulation software was used along with shell scripts to automatically vary the parameters and simulate. Finally, after proper tuning of hyperparameters of the neural network, maximum percent deviation of predicted values over test dataset was brought down to less than 1 percent.

Today with fast growing technology and increasing computing needs, industry is opting for deploying and using cloud to fulfill their extensive computing requirements. Deployment of cloud is a lengthy and convoluted process. Manual installation of cloud infrastructure takes a lot of efforts and time. Setting up cloud on a new infrastructure in a new environment has a lot of challenges and needs to be done manually for troubleshooting. This project involves manual deployment of OpenStack Cloud to overcome these challenges and setup an OpenStack Infrastructure as a Service platform on a virtual infrastructure. Further, automation is done for installation and uninstallation of OpenStack Cloud to overcome the overwhelming process of its manual deployment. Automation reduces the efforts in tedious process of manual cloud deployment and saves a significant amount of time required to install a cloud infrastructure. Automation of installation and uninstallation is done using a bash script in this project. Graph theory and the study of complex networks have, over the last decade, received increasing attention from the neuroscience research community. It allows for the description of the brain as a full network of connections, a connectome, as well as for the quantitative characterization of its topological properties. Still, there is a clear lack of standard procedures for building these networks. In this work we describe a specifically designed full workflow for the pre-processing of resting state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (rs-fMRI) data and connectome. The proposed workflow focuses on the removal of confound data, the minimization of resampling effects and increasing subject specificity. It is implemented using open source software and libraries through shell and python scripting, allowing its easy integration into other systems such as BrainCAT. With this work we provide the neuroscience research community with a standardized framework for the construction of functional connectomes, simplifying the interpretation and comparison of different studies.
