The Chaotic Phase-modulated Linear Frequency modulation short-range detection System(CPLF-SrDS) is a new type of composite detection system. This composited system makes good use of the short-term randomness and long-term determinism of chaos, it has strong precision determination ability and anti-recognition ability. In order to solved the problem of precise distance determination of this system under the emphasized amplitude modulation(AM) interference, this paper proposed a signal denoising method based on singular spectrum decomposition and reconstruction. The singular value distribution characteristics of CPLF-SrDS echo and AM interference has been studied, and the size of the window length during singular spectral decomposition is also been optimized. The method of the paper realized the denoising of the echo detected by different AM interference, and recovered the echo from the doping interference. From the simulation results, this method can better realize the recovery of the echo signals in the case of lower JSR, and can well realized the anti-interference of the CPLF-SrDS.

The chaotic compound short-range detection system is a new type of short-range detection system, which has strong anti-jamming ability. However, for the deception jamming, the characteristics of the complex short-range detection system are very similar to the detection echo, which poses a serious threat to the detection system. In order to analyze and extract the different characteristics between deceptive jamming and target echo signal, so as to realize the anti-deceptive jamming of chaotic compound short-range detection system, this article analyzes and simulates the mathematical model of deceptive jamming and target echo, and analyzes the bispectral characteristics of the simulated echo and jamming signal, and a set of anti-deception jamming feature parameters has been constructed. The identification of deceptive interference is realized by genetic algorithm-back propagation neural network, and the recognition accuracy is high and the real-time performance is good.

The chaotic compound short-range detection system is a new type of short-range detection system. The system uses the "determinacy" and "randomness" of the chaotic to realize the further phase modulation of the FM detection signal, and then realizes the function of system velocity and ranging. In the process of system operation, all kinds of strong suppressive jamming pose a serious threat to the detection system. It is urgent to study a new anti-jamming method of chaotic compound short-range detection system. In order to extract the different characteristics between the jamming signal and the target echo signal so as to realize the anti-jamming of the chaotic compound short-range detection system, the paper separates the target echo from the target echo mixed with four different types of jamming signals blindly, decomposes the separated echo and jamming signals by singular value decomposition, and distinguish the echo signal from the jamming signal through compares the value of signals singular, the number of non-zero singular value, the distribution of singular value and the singular spectrum entropy. At the same time, the recognition between different jamming signals can be realized. The recognition accuracy is high and the real-time performance is good.

Target detection With short-range FMCW Radar Based on Time-Frequency Characteristic-Based Leakage Cancellation Technique

Frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar is commonly employed for target detection. Nevertheless, leakage often occurs between the transmitter (Tx) and the receiver (Rx), leading to degrade the detection of targets in short range. It happens because the Tx-Rx leakage introduces a time delay that is comparable with that of the backscattered reflections from the target, which worsens the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). This article proposes a novel and versatile time-frequency characteristic-based leakage cancellation technique (TFCBLC). By cleverly exploiting the frequency-domain features of the intermediate frequency (IF) signal, the leakage is mitigated through the IF compensation with an antileakage signal. Moreover, the multichirps convolution technique (MCCT) based on the equivalent FMCW radar has been developed to address the problems associated with challenging detection caused by residual leakage and inherent noise. The proposed technique effectively suppresses the Tx-Rx leakage and attenuates noise, enhancing the system's ability for short-range target detection. A series of simulations and experiments were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique for short-range detection with strong leakage and significant noise environments. The results indicate that the SIR and SNR have been improved by around 30 and 17 dB, respectively.

The threshold way of measurement of speed of movement of extended objects is considered and analyzed. It is shown that implementation of an amplitude threshold allows to reduce more than two-times values of dispersion of estimates of speed in a wide band of frequencies and to lower all spectral components of phase noise. The fact of exponential reduction of spectral density of this noise up to zero with threshold growth is especially important. The carried-out theoretical and numerical analysis allows to give estimates of potentially achievable accuracy of measurement of extended objects movement speed.

Piezoelectric Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers Under Forced Vibration: Improving Acoustic range and Reducing Dead Zone

This article delves into the enhancement of dynamic performance in piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers (PMUTs) under forced vibration in pulse-wave mode, with an emphasis on mitigating dead zone and enhancing axial resolution. The investigation begins with a theoretical framework that elucidates the relationship between the resonant frequency of the device and various excitation parameters, such as the applied frequency and the burst count. Empirical findings illustrate that the operation of PMUTs under forced vibration conditions significantly curtails the duration of ringdown by 40% compared with their resonant performance. Furthermore, acoustic range evaluations indicate that this methodology substantially reduces the dead zone by 37.5% and amplifies the axial resolution of echo signals by approximately 440%. The study concludes that the proposed technique, noted for its universality and straightforwardness, provides a robust solution for enhancing near-range detection capabilities in ultrasonic sensors, thereby heralding considerable progress in the domain of precise acoustic measurements. This article not only explicates the fundamental mechanisms but also substantiates the feasibility and efficacy of employing forced vibration in PMUT across diverse applications.

In complex indoor environments, positioning and tracking of passive targets remain a significant technical challenge, mainly due to severe multipath scattssering. Continuous-wave (CW) radar, immune to static multipath, provides a promising solution to this challenge, with frequency-modulated CW (FMCW) radar being the mainstream approach. However, existing solutions have poor performance in short-range measurements. In this work, three independent, single-frequency, CW radars were used to form a positioning network with high spectral efficiency. Dedicated algorithms were implemented to enable fast and accurate data demodulation and processing. By measuring the displacement of a moving target, passive positioning and tracking can be achieved in complex indoor environments, particularly suitable for short-range applications. Both simulations and experimental results verified the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach. © 2025 IEEE.

Geometrical form factor improvement for receiving system of infrared lidar

Improvement of an infrared light detection and ranging (IR-lidar) system for a short range (0-1000 m) and with high resolution is studied to enhance a geometrical form factor. Theoretical modeling of Mie scattering echo signals agrees with the experimental results. Introduction of a lens in front of the detector is effective for increasing the geometrical form factor, and a significant, improvement in the received signal intensity is achieved, especially for short-range measurements around 100 m. This is useful for the IR-lidar system with a detector diameter of less than 1 mm. In the theoretical model, a ray-tracing technique was applied and a transmitting laser beam with Gaussian profile was considered for better accuracy.
