Utilizing signal flow graph on multiple feedback amplifiers of NMC and DACFC with emphasis on design space exploration and conversion

Over a long time, different methods of frequency compensation of multistage amplifiers have been exploited for improvement in the behavior of stabilizing. In the present paper, the step-by-step conversion process of the dual active capacitive feedback compensation (DACFC) three-stage amplifier into the nested Miller compensation (NMC) three-stage amplifier is presented by a systematic approach and signal flow graphs (SFGs) based on the graph theory rules in graph domain. Also, according to graph rules, the conversion of the multiple feedback amplifier NMC into the multiple feedback amplifier DACFC is investigated in detail in the graph domain. During the conversion process, the difference in the gain-bandwidth product (GBW) in the two mentioned case study's amplifiers is examined in terms of the graph at the system level. The elimination of two branches in one step of the conversion process of the SFG of the NMC into the SFG of the DACFC leads to a significant improvement in the behavior of GBW. This paper also conducts verification of the design of conventional NMC and DACFC amplifier circuits in HSPICE using 0.35-mu m CMOS technology and compares the circuit simulation results to SFG simulation results. In order to show the correctness of the idea, they are redesigned in HSPICE using 0.18-mu m CMOS technology, and appropriate results are obtained. The article's approach to circuit and system simulation is illustrated in the graphical image. Circuit simulations of NMC and DACFC amplifiers are discussed using HSPICE. The approximate transfer functions (TFs) are calculated by mapping the amplifiers to the graph domain to compare the accuracy between circuit and system simulation results. image

Parasitic Oscillation Analysis of Trench IGBT During Short-Circuit Type II Using TCAD-Based signal flow graph Model

The oscillation phenomenon of trench-type insulated gate bipolar transistors during short-circuit (SC) type II was investigated experimentally and theoretically. The gate resistance required to suppress oscillations decreased with an increasing collector voltage. The oscillation conditions were calculated from the signal flow graph model using the S-parameter based on a technology computer-aided design simulation. The calculation results reproduced the locus of the collector voltage dependence of the experimentally measured gate resistance. The oscillation mechanism was investigated using the device simulation. The response of carrier density modulation at the base-drift layer boundary was found to transmit to the collector side through the electron-hole plasma region during the oscillation, indicating that the transfer characteristics of the carrier density modulation in the drift region at the specific collector voltage influence the collector voltage dependence of the SC oscillation. The influence of circuit parameters on the oscillation was also investigated. An increase in the emitter inductance suppressed the oscillations, whereas an increase in gate inductance increases oscillations.

In this work, we continue our study of autonomous nonlinear dynamical systems with quaternion variables. We present a novel chaotic Chen system with quaternion variables. This system in real form is high (nine) dimensional. We study the dynamics and basic properties of this model with quaternion variables. We also evaluate the stability of the trivial points and restrict the conditions under which the nonlinear novel quaternion Chen system has negative, zero, or positive Lyapunov exponents. A signal flow graph and an electronic circuit implementation are designed, analyzed, and constructed to realize the novel Chen system. The control problem of chaotic nonlinear systems with quaternion variables is investigated. We propose and design an approach to build a controller for these systems. The viability and usefulness of the suggested approach are illustrated by an application to the chaotic Chen model with quaternion variables. Using the proposed method, the attractors of the quaternion Chen model are transformed to trivial fixed point, quasi-periodic, or periodic (limit cycle) states. The mathematical results for the controller according to this method are confirmed numerically. (C) 2020 The Authors. The article presents evaluation of the influence of sensors number and mutual reflection on the measurement accuracy of the microwave multiprobe multimeter. There was considered and compared different models of mutual sensor reflection in the multiprobe microwave multimeter. There was shown and proved that the model in the form of signal flow graph for gain determination does not necessarily use the rule of non touching loop (the Maison rule), and it can be successfully replaced by the matrix and topological reduction.

Optimal control, signal flow graph, and system electronic circuit realization for nonlinear Anopheles mosquito model

We study the estimated investigative answers for one of the popular models in biomathematics, in particular, the nonlinear Anopheles mosquito model numerically. The optimal control (OC) for nonlinear Anopheles mosquito model is examined. Important and adequate conditions to ensure the presence and singularity of the arrangements of the control issue are assumed. Two control factors are suggested to limit the normal measure of eggs laid per treated female every day. The signal stream chart and Simulink\Matlab of this model are constructed. The framework is designed utilizing the MULTISIM simulation program. We utilize the homotopy disruption strategy (HPM) to examine the logical surmised answer for the nonlinear control issue. We utilize the mathematical programming bundles, for example, Maple, to emphasize while ascertaining the rough arrangement. Results are displayed graphically and introduced to delineate the conduct of obtained inexact arrangements.

A Matrix Approach for Analyzing signal flow graph

Mason's gain formula can grow factorially because of growth in the enumeration of paths in a directed graph. Each of the (n - 2)! permutation of the intermediate vertices includes a path between input and output nodes. This paper presents a novel method for analyzing the loop gain of a signal flow graph based on the transform matrix approach. This approach only requires matrix determinant operations to determine the transfer function with complexity O(n(3)) in the worst case, therefore rendering it more efficient than Mason's gain formula. We derive the transfer function of the signal flow graph to the ratio of different cofactor matrices of the augmented matrix. By using the cofactor expansion, we then obtain a correspondence between the topological operation of deleting a vertex from a signal flow graph and the algebraic operation of eliminating a variable from the set of equations. A set of loops sharing the same backward edges, referred to as a loop group, is used to simplify the loop enumeration. Two examples of feedback networks demonstrate the intuitive approach to obtain the transfer function for both numerical and computer-aided symbolic analysis, which yields the same results as Mason's gain formula. The transfer matrix offers an excellent physical insight, because it enables visualization of the signal flow.

Analyzing a four quadrant dc-dc Luo converter by means of signal flow graph modeling technique

In this paper, the signal flow graph technique and Mason gain formula are applied for extracting small signal model and transfer functions from control to output and from input to output. In order to investigate a rather complex system, a four quadrant dc-dc Luo converter known as a second generation and high order power electronic converter is chosen for modeling and analyzing purposes. This converter has received the least attention and its dynamic modeling and analysis is not reported in literature. To get rid of complex equations in modeling high order converters, signal flow graph method is applied to manipulate the equations. Hence, the small signal models for two converters in different states are derived in detail and the obtained models are used to achieve the frequency responses and do stability analysis. The whole paper shows that using the proposed method, derivation of small signal models for all states and frequency domain analysis can be easily carried out in detail. In this paper, the small signal flow graph method and Mason gain formula are applied for a cascaded coupled inductor (CL) based high step-up DC-DC converter is presented in order to obtain the average model of the converter. The influence of duty cycle and input voltage to frequency characteristics is investigated. Besides, in order to validate proposed signal flow graph modeling, small signal and large signal responses are compared. Various transfer functions are derived and have been validated through frequency and dynamic responses. The results show that presented signal flow graph model is significantly compatible to the converter.

In this paper, a disturbance observer (DOB) algorithm is proposed to solve the output voltage regulation of an Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) in presence of unknown disturbance and parameter uncertainty. IBCs are improved model of boost converters which provide better operation than conventional converters. Also, these converters are rather complicated, therefore, the modeling of them are more cumbersome. To solve this problem, the signal flow graph (SFG) method is implemented for a 2-cells IBC. The main advantage of SFG is obtaining unified dynamic mode of converter. Beside the modeling problem, unknown disturbances such as the input voltage ripple, mismatching of duty cycles and load variations are inevitable in real circuit and degrade the system performance. To obtain a high performance regulation in presence of disturbances, a DOB is integrated with an optimal controller. According to our models, the duty cycle variation is limited so an optimal control technique is implemented to achieve a good tracking. Furthermore, the DOB can be estimate and compensate the unknown disturbances. Simulation results for a real model of a 2-cells IBC indicates that application of DOB and SFG modeling is quite effective in correct performance of IBC in presence of unknown disturbances.
