The book call number is a series of codes which are given to each kind of books by the library. It is used to locate the position of each book on the shelf. So, how to recognize the book call number automatically has great practical significance for determining the correct position of books automatically. This paper introduces an automatic recognition algorithm for the book call number images. The algorithm includes several steps: image preprocessing, call number locating, image binarization, character segmentation and character recognition. The details of each step are discussed. The experiment results proved that this algorithm can recognize the book call number automatically.

Data-driven applications in the next-generation wireless communication networks lead to data privacy and security constraints. Privacy-preserving federated learning (FL) in wireless systems has emerged as a solution for this issue, where machine learning (ML) models are trained collaboratively by only sharing ML model updates over the wireless medium. While addressing bandwidth constraints in wireless communications, over-the-air FL (OTA-FL) is preferred since the edge users can simultaneously transmit model updates to a central entity over power-controlled wireless uplink channels. We show that the OTA-FL framework is highly susceptible to impulsive noise, which is prevalent in several wireless systems. We study the convergence of OTA-FL techniques in the presence of impulsive noise and propose Sk-OTAFL, where we omit the impulsive noise-contaminated model updates in FL. Using the MNIST and CIFAR10 datasets, we demonstrate the vulnerability of the OTA-FL systems to different strengths of impulsive noise with respect to ML model accuracy while varying the number of clients and level of data heterogeneity. We also demonstrate that the proposed Sk-OTAFL strategy effectively mitigates the impact of impulsive noise.

With the popularity of mobile payment, the problem of financial fraud is becoming increasingly prominent, and the limitations of traditional anti-fraud methods make it more difficult to fight fraud. Many fraud detection tools lack generalization and cannot provide services for the majority of enterprises. To solve this problem, this paper introduces and compares the performance of a variety of popular meta-heuristic algorithms in the field of feature selection, in order to pursue the best performance and generalization. In addition, this paper improves the particle swarm optimization algorithm by introducing cost-effectiveness, so that it can show better performance in the feature selection problem. In this paper, through a comprehensive evaluation of the system, a variety of performance indicators and confusion matrix are examined to accurately evaluate the performance of the system. In particular, the potential of the system in practical applications is highlighted, and it is expected to achieve significant results in real scenarios. And through the analysis of detailed performance indicators and confusion matrix, the feasibility and effectiveness of the system in solving practical problems and coping with various challenges are highlighted.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have substantially advanced the sector by providing improved real-time monitoring, data collecting, and situational awareness capabilities when integrated into disaster management techniques. This study examines the creative uses of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in disaster relief, emphasising how they may speed up reaction times and increase operational effectiveness in emergency situations. With an emphasis on their usefulness in human detection, damage assessment, and coordination efforts, we propose a thorough framework that describes the design, deployment, and evaluation of UAV systems customised for catastrophe situations. The study shows how UAVs may be used to enhance processes of decision-making and enable more efficient recovery and catastrophe response through instances and quantitative evaluation. The results demonstrate how UAV technology may revolutionise conventional disaster management procedures and provide insightful information for future studies and real-world applications in the field.

In this paper, Combining the advantages of the helicopter platform being easy to hover in the air, this paper establishes a three-dimensional imaging model for the Arc Array Synthetic Aperture Radar (AASAR) when the aircraft platform takes off and lands vertically, and proposes a corresponding imaging method. The model corrects the spatial position of the three-dimensional data according to the uniform rising motion of the aircraft and the characteristics of the arc array echo signal. By constructing the altitude offset compensation function, the influence of the altitude change on the antenna position is reduced when the platform rises vertically, and the complex movement mode is simplified into a "two-step" model. In the simplified mode, the distance migration correction is performed through the keystone algorithm to realize the 3D imaging in the simplified mode. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by point target simulation.

Image restoration is the process of reconstructing the undesired part of an image by algorithm, which is one of the research hotspots in the field of computer vision. In this paper, for the problems of insufficient performance of denoising network and insufficient estimation of a priori information of image in Diffusion model for image restoration (DiffIR) model, the u-net network is improved to NAFNet and FreeU module is added. The performance of the denoising network in the diffusion model is effectively improved. Experimental results on Places and CelebA-HQ datasets show that compared with other models, the improved model in this paper leads about 0.5% and 3.1% in the evaluation metrics of LPIPS and FID, respectively.

In order to solve the problems of significant time series volatility and insufficient prediction accuracy in the prediction of dissolved gas concentration in transformer oil, a new prediction method is proposed, which incorporates the Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD), the improved Subtraction-Average-Based Optimizer(ISABO), and the Kernel Based Extreme Learning Machine(KELM). Firstly, the original gas concentration sequence is decomposed using the VMD method to eliminate the non-stationarity and modal aliasing in the data; then, ISABO incorporating the Bernoulli chaotic mapping, Piecewise chaotic mapping, and the golden sine method is designed to enhance the optimization efficiency and the effect is verified by six test functions; and finally, the The core parameters of the KELM algorithm are optimized using ISABO to achieve accurate prediction of each component of the dissolved gas concentration in oil, and the components of the prediction results are superimposed to arrive at the final predicted value of dissolved gas concentration. The experimental results show that compared with the existing SVM and KELM models, the MAE value of this method on the test set is reduced by 10.32% and 7.95%, the RMSE value is reduced by 12.01 % and 8.98%, and the R2 value is improved by 20.04 % and 17.36%, which indicates that this method has higher accuracy in the prediction of transformer gas concentration.

Integrated satellite-ground network (ISGN) emerges as a promising key component of the sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks due to its potential capabilities in providing ubiquitous connectivity for global coverage and reliable services. However, the inevitable existences of high-volume data, uncontrollable propagation environment, and malicious jamming attacks pose three significant bottlenecks for enabling efficient ISGN. With these focuses, we propose a novel framework of multi-functional reconfigurable intelligent surface (MF-RIS) aided semantic anti-jamming communication in ISGN. Under this framework, a semantic transceiver exhibits inherent robustness and data compression capability, and MF-RIS can customize the full-space wireless environment by leveraging its signal reflection, refraction, amplification, and energy harvesting functions, thereby achieving substantial global coverage, reliable connectivity, and high-rate transmission. Based on our proposed framework, we formulate a total semantic rate maximization problem considering the impacts of jammer's channel state information (CSI) imperfection, while maintaining the semantic similarity requirement, semantic rate target, and MF-RIS's self-sustainability. Then, by transforming the imperfect CSI into a worst-case one by exploiting a discretization method, we propose a fast-converging monotonic optimization algorithm that is combined with decoupling second-order cone programming to obtain a globally optimal solution with fewer feasibility evaluations. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superiority of our proposed framework and algorithms compared to various benchmarks.

Spatially coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) codes are a special type of sparse graph codes that have recently attracted great interest due to their capacity-approaching performance. To reduce the performance loss in-curred by short cycles, this paper proposes a method based on the greatest common divisor (GCD) full-length row-multiplier (FLRM) matrix to construct girth-8 quasi-cyclic SC-LDPC codes with improved performance and flexible code rates. Besides, we further extend the lower bound of the circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size to be compatible with different code lengths. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed SC-LDPC code has performance gains of 1.05 dB and 1.0 dB compared with that based on RS structure at an BER of 10 −6 over AWGN channels for code rates 0.45 and 0.625, respectively. Additionally, SC-LDPC codes based on the GCD constraint achieve the trade-off between decoding performance and complexity..

The electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important non-invasive tool for diagnosing heart and cardiovascular diseases. However, traditional ECG systems often provide images, which makes it challenging to directly utilize the image-based data in various applications that require 1-D signals. Therefore, the digitalization of ECG reports is essential for the establishment of electronic medical archives, advanced diagnostic tools, and intelligent healthcare systems. Previous efforts to digitize paper-based ECGs have been limited by the need to manually select regions of interest, limited accuracy in handling overlapping ECG leads, and lack of batch processing capabilities. We present a fully automated method for digitizing ECG reports that requires only a predefined lead distribution, eliminating the need for manual lead position selection. This method effectively addresses the challenge of overlapping leads and has the capability for automated batch processing. Validation against a subset of the PTB-XL dataset demonstrated high accuracy and reliability (Root Mean Square Error: 0.036 (mV), Pearson Correlation Coefficient: 0.977). To further verify the generalizability of the method, we applied the algorithm to hospital ECG reports. The results, evaluated by expert cardiologists, confirmed that our method produced consistently high-quality digitalization and demonstrated its applicability to different types of ECG reports.
